I have not seen dedicated cannon at monarch boss before. Smoke bomb debuff does not affect the boss.

@bdarwongso It is possible. I will give you the team necessary team compositions for competition:

Supports for all parties:
-a survival support with revive or invulnerability
-if you use invulnerability, you need a supporting hackapel (cavalry charge) or murmillo (headbutt) to interrupt monarch medzo diena skill.
-If possible, thauma3-chrono3 or either one.
-dievdirby cooldown statue for skill-based party.
-Kabbalist3 is another popular survival option, to ein sof on 2 weakest dealer
-if available: linker3 lifeline, usually the wiz2-linker3thauma3runecaster build to share surespell, thauma buffs, and rune of protection.

With 2 or 2+ auto-attack dealer or auto-attack/skill hybrids:
-QS3-rogue2-bullet2, QS3-Musket3, (SR3), enchanter2, (meta aa cleric). You must prepare to auto-attack for 30+ minutes, sometimes.
-Need good ping during crowded boss (if you cannot meet this requirement, you will suffer during monarch boss)
-need monstrance buff for DEX boost. If you do not have a priest, buy monstrance scrolls.
-Rogue build requires staying at back of boss (quite easy), use Running shot + kneeling shot (+ sniper serenity & grooving muzzle if musketeer), or just limacon if reiter. Reiter must find wall to retreat shot properly.
-Enchant fire scroll needed (no longer party buff after patch)
-Pardoner sacrament and blessing buffs
-Chaplain party member needed for last rites buff, and rebuff other buff if die. (also provide revive/ress)
-Enchanter2 enchant lightning.
-Bullet build use silver bullet vs Dark boss (not marnox)
-Attacking from a distance is safe vs several bosses (such as marnox)

Melee Physical dealer:
-Doppel shinobi, then Murmillo-shinobi build, then remaining shinobi build, and krivis3 monk zealot2.
-Various debuffs from party (wizard3 lethargy strike debuff, dragoon serpentine debuff, and such)
-prefer a miko (kagura dance) + taoist (stormcall attribute) in party
-Might need falconer3 aiming supporter if bad at positioning

Magical dealer:
-prefer magic def break supports: linker3 for magic defence debuff spirit shock debuff, runecaster rune of destruction magic defence break, bokor hexing magic def debuff, enchanter2 lightning hands debuff, paladin resist elements debuff, appraiser devaluate, (…)
-monarch breaks magic circles, some classes will suffer a lot
-Might need falconer3 aiming supporter if bad at positioning skills, or if boss moves a lot.

That vid, the recording player’s team is #2 at boss (3 auto attacker builds). Another team with another shinobi doppelman is #1.

It is referencing your mention of AA archer. The near off screen range of [bazooka] + 5min [running shot] should be good turreting right?

I cannot comment on QS3 cannon3 at monarch, never seen a max auto attack speed bazooka running shot cannon before. Most cannons build for AoE dealer. And cannon is not a popular class. It mightbe viable if you use zoom out and dodge boss homing fire pillar on time.

If everyone just auto attack, fastest attacker with strongest weapon will win of course. With a chrono pass, hybrid auto-attack/skill musketeer could beat both. Then SR second, then Bulletmarker. BM skill animation is slow, even with animation cancel tricks. Most players prefer full-time auto attack with buffs and do not bother to use skills.
SR may use retreat shot + limacon during retreat shot without delay. Need a wall or falconer3 aiming to use retreat shot properly. No down-time on attacking and always mobile to dodge boss attacks.
Musket is able to use penetration shot during kneeling, and cancel stance for very high damage fast burst skills. Musket must recast grooving muzzle every 35s and re-enter sniper stance + kneeling shot, lose attacking time during rebuff animations.

Does musk uses archer3 mainly for range increase? because opting for archer3 they are losing 50% crit chance from rogue and there is a cap for atk speed even in ktos.

Give effect to use ice blast on boss. But no longer increase strike damage.

@dogos just for a bit more kneeling level scaling. Most muskets stay close to boss to use penetration shot though. Grooving muzzle buff adds 30% chance to deal 3 critical hits on auto attack, and ignore 15% def is great vs high def boss. Rogue1 instead of archer3 might be better for bossing due to sniper serenity (x1.5 damage if critting during sniper’s serenity).

Does AA QS3/musk really out dps sapper3/musk? I think that at least against flying sapper3 will win because of detonate trap. or no?

I rarely see sapper musketeer for bossing, almost all musketeers are QS3 after musket patch. Perhaps if you could ask @tomgo32000 (Tsai Tom) for a second opinion here. He changed his wugushi (or sapper?) musket into QS3 musket.

QS3 Musket3:
-Running shot auto-attack boost.
-Grooving muzzle buff effects and: 30% chance with auto-attack to deal 3 hits, each hit = 100% critical.
-Sniper serenity debuff effects, and ‘+50% damage on critical hits’.

I see. So less synergy with Marnox.
Do you know if it increases lightning damage? I assume it doesn’t.

Boss cannot get frozen, cryomancer is low value vs boss unless you can use ice wall effectively. Lethargy of wizard3 still works on boss! Good for marnox.

Oh, I thought it counts as freezing since it can increase strike damage in itos. Thanks for the information.

Yes, only popular for wiz3 ele3 sorc1 sage2/ shadow2. Wizard earthquake and magic missile are viable dealer skills after patch. Lethargy debuff increase magic circle damage by max 35% and doubles hits of earthquake, and earthquake deal bonus damage to ground enemy. New magic missile damage is higher and more bounces.
Have also seen a wiz3 thauma1 sorc2 warlock3 at hg 340
And a wiz3 thaum1 sorc1 runecaster necro3 challenge mode 5
If you have another build, it might not be worth.

I thought of going for this build for my Sorcerer, but I’m having second thoughts now.

Wizard2>Linker3>Sorcerer2>Sage2

Originally, it would have been an Enchanter 2, but Sage seemed pretty good so I switched. It would have had Linker 3’s mdef debuff along with Lightning Hand’s attribute for magic-based summon like Froster Lord.

Wizard2 link3 thaum1 rune1 enchanter2 (thaum1 rune1 instead of sorc2) is most similar vid I have for your build video at HG340

What decides the ranking vs WB?
The overall dps of a party (1+2+3+4+5) or the party that has the best single dps player?
