Well imo barbarians are clearly the best in solo, party and boss fights and good parties need more barbarians than they need hoplites.

The party with 2 hoplites will simply because they have 2 swash buckling. They will be killing way more mobs than a party without swash buckling.

Reach rank 6+ and you"ll know that reddit post is true, nothing better ele C3 in term of killing stuff, they can single handed destroy a pack of elite/dungeon mobs under <10s, that’s why people prefer peltasta for their taunt rathen than barb.

what does hoplite even bring that barb doesn’t ?
I guess hoplite could be corsair c2 and bring dbl atk, but you need only 1 for that and he could be barb c2 also, while you need 2 barbs to keep full up time for frenzy.
Normal grinding barb is obvious better he can be peltasta if that is what you need, but for overkills barb is much better so easier leveling with barb.
PvP cata is better not hoplite don’t know which comboes best with cata.
see now your talking a combination of classes rather then 1 to 1. and i agree hopilite is better on bosses, and elementalist better for mobs as a specialization. But bar bars are just good against everything.

Also barb is not great with bossing at all. Useless at dullahan, useless at marionette, useless at 175 dgn, useless at 200 dgn, almost useless at 190 dgn. It can atleast kill the adds in the 190 dgn somewhat decently.
