Swallow your pride, go somewhere else or party up if you’re getting KS’d too much.
I don’t think it makes much sense to enforce rules against KSing with this many players.
Master of KSing speaking, it’s allowed and its fun.
All Hail fellow KSers!
If you did a good amount of damage to the enemy, both you and the other person will get an items and exp.
You can’t get exp from monsters that are much higher level then you, (in guessing the cut off is 10 or 15 levels).
I remember how many times I accidentaly hit someone’s else mob with the other guy being out of my screen, in ro. This happened a lot as a hunter/sniper. Just said sorry and moved on.
However there were some jerks, high level snipers, that looked at someone and “hey, lets ruin his life”.
Whoever gets the last hit gets the loot (and quest count if you have quest for those monsters), while the EXP is shared based on damage dealt.

What exactly is the difference between raids and instances? Or are they just different names for the same action? And what exactly defines a “kill steal” in the strictest definition of the words? Is it just hitting someone else’s target/aggressive monster attacking someone else, or is there more to it?
Open world = one or more of the following:
Monster tagging - First person to touch the monster gets the full value of experience and loot.
Most damage dealt - The one that dealt the most damage, in percentage, gets the experience and loot.
Experience per damage done - Same as “Most damage dealt” but with experience linked to the damage you did. Everyone that damaged the monster shares on the experience equal to the damage done.
It’s not a matter of ks or no ks. It’s a matter of being strong enough that no one can ks from you
I never understood why people ask about this.
If I’m killing a mob, and you come along to try and KS you’re messing with my leveling. In some games it can cause quest mob kills to not register in the quest log. Or it can take some of the exp. It’s really, really rude. I’m also not there to be you tank. If you need help leveling, ask for help. I’d much rather assist a player who was nice enough to ask for it, than deal with some idiot trying to take my kills.
It seems to be like this:
- Whoever does the most damage gets the kill.
- If you do the most damage, but then stop attacking for a little while (i.e waiting for a party mate to come near to get the exp), and someone KS’s you, they get the kill instead.
exactly! There are some basis where you need to KS but I don’t see any reason to question such thing. This is simply a matter of a person using good manners and right conduct online 101.
That system seems designed to promote kill stealing. How long is a little while? Do you have to keep spamming skills? At least with the first hit method, you know whether to bother continuing to hit it. There is occasionally confusion over who got the first hit, but not often.
i hate ksing, and if someone will ks me, i will follow him a loooong time and steal all his ■■■■ and will be very very annoying to her/him.
Getting 100% exp on first hitter always would be great. And I wish the loot is instanced per player. Power leveling isn’t really a problem. That would solve some KS issues.
theres no rules about “ksers” but its not appropriate to steal others kill.

Ive played the KR CBT and Im telling you its no use KSing someone… aside from the loots being directed to the 1st person who hit the monster the exp isnt that great as well… Unless its a Field Boss… the loot varies to who ever did a good amount of damage and contribution
Is the loot a lot like RO? I hated that…
