Kill Stealing legal or not?

So far, it didn’t matters so much. There are so much mobs and spawning so fast that it is almost impossible take care of ks (looking at mines) while you play, not to mention most of the time you are hitting multiple mobs at once.

I got quest progress, exp and items when someone other finished to kill my mob, and even when I were the one killing someone’s else dying mob.

When it comes to special field mobs, it seems everything is shared so there isn’t any ks.

Exp, item, quest progress mechanics are to be know in more details, sure, but so far I guess ks isn’t something to be afraid of. Maybe we can talk of it again on higher levels, if the case.

@malkraz The previous post was meant to construe a meaningful discussion by presenting the topic in a meaningful way by asking what exactly defines a kill steal, not defending the action, and had no such intent; a devil’s advocate, if you will. Clearly you have misunderstood my words and did not comprehend it correctly. Try to understand it better next time.

@Gardosen Not a bad system at all, but needs work. If it guarantees an actual drop rate for any player that hits the monster, p-levelers and bots will run around rampant then and hit just about anything despite it already being taken, unless of course the latter were programmed to be more inconspicuous. The loots should be fine, but what does it say about experience?

I get ks’ed all the time. Do i care about it? No.

That’s perfectly fine for me, hence why it’d be its own server that people could choose to play on. Not forced onto everyone.

It’s actually last hit, sadly.

Clearly you’ve misunderstood which of your posts I was replying to, sweetheart. Try to understand it better next time.

Really? Well now, clearly a dignified response was out of the question. He and I have resolved our issues in private messaging. Now be a dear and do try to stay in topic. It’s buried already and digging up old things that have been resolved is just unpleasant.

Back to topic, what exactly defines a kill steal and when is it a kill steal and when is it not a kill steal?

The following situations present a confusing problem:

a) someone else hit next by just a split second
b) aggressive monsters attacking someone else who is alone, running away, and/or under leveled
c) bosses

I group up a bunch of mobs, someone else runs over and starts kill them all while I’m attacking them.
That’s the most common kill stealing I see going on in the game and probably the sort of thing most people are referring too.

That makes sense…but that’s blatant kill stealing already. At least one definition and example has been cited.

Dignified responses are reserved for those with the dignity to not compose themselves as more than they are.

I actually hope they do something about the monsters’ AI. When I’m already hitting monsters and they get hit by someone else, the monsters change target so easily. I’m just talking normal monsters here.

Playing a cleric, I sometimes drag monsters around a bit so I can position them right for my skills. Intentionally or not, somebody else hits them and they switch target. It’s irritating especially when I’ve just cast my skill too.

@malkraz Did I ever say I was? I have already conducted accordingly to the topic and did so with contemplative thoughts. Why do you drag it out and not give any constructive statement? It is far more undignified because I have already made my peace but you drag everything else into the mud. I refuse to stoop to a juvenile level and say such base thoughts like “Get over yourself” or “Look who’s talking”, nor retaliate by dragging in mud what has been resolved for the past days already. It has been dealt with, I suggest to leave it in peace, once and for all. Save us both what dignity we deserve and stop bringing it up to have the last word and having it your way. If you need something, there is a messaging feature. Now, I will excuse myself, and I shall go back to the conversation. Do feel free to join anytime, okay?

@diwatangtamad in hindsight, that would already be a matter of skill cast time, although I don’t know if that could be affected by any stats and instant cast could exist. Some monster AIs are supposed to change target easily to support party play, but it’s a double edged sword that is easily exploited by kill-stealers as well, which I brought up in a previous post.

Handing out non-authoritative punishment from a self-indulging throne is not “conducting accordingly to the topic”. Your contributions made on the side are not the issue so much as your personality, babe. Lighten up.

I agree with you (bottom line “be nice to people!”). But the sad thing is some people are rude and will try to take advantage of others. It’s nice when the game system helps prevent that so people ask to know if they will be “protected” by the said system.

I reiterate. I have made peace and the issue has been resolved behind closed doors, and have not said anything of the issue for the last days, apologies were made. It’s time to move on and to contribute meaningful statements to the thread. Don’t drag it out into the open again, it isn’t related to the topic. I reiterate twice, if you need anything of me, there is a message function. Unless it has something to do with kill-stealing, Do. Not. Bring. It. Up. EVER. AGAIN. Comprenez vous? Good.

Now, about kill-stealing…

Je vais vas te faire encule comme étalon que je suis

Until an official from IMC Games or an update in the terms of service clarifies what constitutes as kill stealing, this conversation will probably not go anywhere.

If you must recite French expletives (you really could not come up with anything better?), don’t do it at a public gaming forum, and do not cuss, at all. This is the last time I will respond to your provocation. Say what you will, if it gives you your peace. I have made mine the last days and it is enough for me.

To everyone else, I apologize for this farce of a debate or trolling dragging on this long. Now, I’ll arrange it back to as it were…

Kill-stealing has unique circumstances. It all depends on a subjective view, but I think we can all unanimously agree that it is someone else who isn’t the first striker, a party member, an NPC AI for storytelling purposes, or a GM hitting on someone else’s monster, no? But what about bosses in the fields?

Will I be smitten by the gods or your dashingly handsome good looks?

I think larger party (10 people instead of 5 …) could help to end the problem.

One or two partys per channel … could solve the KS issue.
