I wouldn’t say clerics kill fast though Delcas. a dpa cleric’s dps is pretty low end regardless of their class combo compared to the rest. My cleric is gonna go mostly int with a bit of con, and going to have mace/sword to abused weaknesses on monsters, as well as have a arde dagger in offhand for the extra hit of damage on auto attacks, will pretty much means I’ll be able to auto attack things to death faster than I would be able to use healbombs and such to kill them. I am just having an issue deciding on a build. cuz to me a cleric that can’t heal is just a useless party member, since every other class way out dps’s them no matter what class build the cleric has.
I will agree that swordman are top tier when it comes to pve. But I’ve done a few duels and everytime Ive gotten beat except once where I beat another swordsman. Never dueled a cleric but I imagine he can just heal my damage.
Also, you said clerics breeze through everything. I dont know about that. :o I have 3 clerics 3 different builds. All take lots of time to kill mobs. Maybe they don’t die as much but its still just as hard as wiz, maybe in a different way.
I haven’t tried a dps cleric yet (I’d imagine they’re beast) but playing a support cleric has pros but is slow to solo with. Around lvl 200 it won’t matter i think for all classes though since you start to need parties of 2 or more.
Both classes are more difficult then Archer/Cleric.
Archer is top dps, Cleric is again extremely self-sufficient which makes it very easy for players to utilize compared to the other 3. It does not kill as fast as others typically but again as far as killing goes its Ele 3/Warlock and Archer where Archer has an easier path up (with meta builds) and isn’t rivaled in single target. Swordsman will have to pay more attention to enemy animations as they are typically always in range of them where as the other classes sometimes are depending on their skill build. This makes for fairly active play at later stages in the game when you’re contributing damage and frontlining simultaneously.
Why are you surprised that hurp derp smash is the easiest route? Keep in mind though in our current build late game is a different story for swordsman.
You and I are almost the same, really.
Went wiz both betas, early-mid game was always enjoyable. I was more INT heavy in the beginning but that’s the only difference. But around 130+ I could not for the life of me survive solo very long. I even stat reset and put more into CON; still had to stick with a party much to my frustration.
This time around my main will be a Dragoon, and I’m currently loving it as Hoplite C2.The experience is much smoother, although staying next to enemies to hit them instead of running to get distance takes getting used to.
I think wiz needs some improvement, but I also wonder if it just wasn’t for me. I usually don’t go for sword classes in MMO’s,but I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far.
u probably using a pve build and trying to pvp, like most of ppl that says swordsman suck pvp =)
I’m currently playing wiz and wanted to play a build like yours can you please say how you are allocating stats? And if I’m not asking too much - your build for example in this: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/
Is your icon a hidden class?
Shrine Maiden / Miko?
Definitely Miko. No idea about hidden class though, let hope it is not just only costume.
I readed lots of “i link fireball with monsters”, mh, ok, now a trick, if you link 5-6 monsters (with linker 1 and divine might from clerics) you can use your energy bolt to instakill all the monsters if they’re closer to each other, in that way you don’t have to waste 1 charge of fireball that you can use elsewhere/next aggro.
This works until pyro 2 which own pretty much until necro/sorcerer whatever you’re gonna become.
Oh yes and I use reflection shield. That reduces most of my damage to only 1 in normal fights but I do get hit harder in boss fights. I only had to use bonfire when I was in an area that was a little too high for my level at the moment. (That was because I missed quest though.)
Problem identified.
Early wizards are 100% INT. No ratio until higher levels.
My wiz died twice. Once because I was afk in a place 10 levels higher than myself.
The second because I was 0.1 sec from magic missile CD.
But play the class the works best for you.
Ever heard of hit and run swordman? They exist
completely disagree
20 characters
lel ok.
You don’t need STR, DEX
So what you have left is CON, INT, SPR.
The only reason to go for CON is Max HP. But early mobs hit so soft it takes them 10~20 hits to KO you. You also have range so if you’re taking 20 hits, your doing it wrong. Tenet Chainmail + Keppa pendant (if you’re really desperate) gives you 12 CON = 1020 MAX HP which is really plenty.
SPR gives you max SP, but its extremely easy to get +SP equipment early game that nets over 20 stat points worth of MAX SP. So investing into SPR early is also a waste.
Therefore 100% INT and don’t tank. There’s very little items that give significant boost to damage early game so it makes the most sense to invest heavily into INT early game.
Con is often taken by PvP wizards because Con > everything else for Wizards in PvP.
Int basically works on the idea (taking from FFXIV here) that if you have enough health to survive that anything else above that is wasted and could be used to kill things faster.
In PvP though you do not have enough health to survive, plus Con is very Anti-physical dps which works perfectly for mages to help them dominate Swordsmen and Archers since Magic can’t miss so they never care about Dex.
Even still you have to be very adept at dodging for Int to be beneficial, and even further then that because of the amount of auto-aim attacks in the upper levels (thankfully some of their damage was nerfed) you’re bound to take hits anyways so you try to have enough health to avoid guaranteed damage. With a strong lack of DPS timers for most individual encounters people favor CON because it reduces the margin of error (as far as dodging) where as Int does not do so as potently.
My claim:
Your argument:
Yea totally PVP at lvl 60. Cuz it’s fun and available.
Don’t take my arguments out of context please.
Because there isn’t a fairly accessible restat option players will slot CON even from the start so early/high becomes irrelevant when your ability to switch stats around is compromised. You simply build in regards to what you’re attempting to be. Likewise Some such as myself go heavy into Int because our gameplan doesn’t resolve around significant amounts of CON anyways and rather utilize party support to make up for the frailty but there’s absolutely reason to go CON early on.
Wizard is a fairly binary class in that its pretty much CON vs INT. Being level 60 doesn’t chance it as its still 59 base stat points + 2 from the Zemnya Shrines + what 6/9 at that time for 65-68 stat points. Yes that can all be pumped into Con if you’re going for a Con intensive build which some players will favor and they’ll do so immediately from the jump.
Int doesn’t “scale” particularly well in most cases but for players focused on maximizing DPS it’s as good as it is going to get.
