Well some people IRL major in dance and latin, then complain they don’t get a job in tech or finance. They decide they want to be unique and original and express their emotions through their work, just to find out you don’t get paid for that (most of the time). Reality hurts.
Same is true for IG classes. “Unique” build no one else needs in their group? Find a way to make it work on your own or wish upon a star a very nice group of quirky people accepts the build as part of their own… It’s not class discrimination… It’s basically an open market.
I’m not an extrovert at all, but I’ve found amusement in trying to start a conversation to see people’s reactions, despite my initial anxiety.
I actually dislike small talk, but I’ve realized it’s easy to have an actual deep conversation with people you never even dared trying to talk to.
I think the toxic people have always been around. We just forgot how to ignore them. All these anti harassment and bullying campaigns have made us forget how it was when we went through school.
Seems like people have lost their tough skin for trolls and the excitement for meeting new people over the interwebz. It’s no longer like “magic” to get to meet someone who’s 14 hours ahead. That was fun and exciting, now it’s merely just a case for judgment. Any more examples?
Establishing a social circle is no longer that easy, probably gets worse as we get older, both IRL and IG, but not trying anymore definitely won’t help, so I give it a shot, sometimes.
