I've But One Burning Question: WHY DO MY MALE CHARACTERS WEAR HEELS?

I do not know if this is an oversight, but the more I look at it, the more it bothers me. If I WANTED to have my guy wear heels, I could have easily made a sexy female character instead. These aren’t even the kinds of heels you’d see on boots or dress shoes, which would have been acceptable.

WHY are my male characters even wearing these?? Last I checked, even men in Korea do not walk around in heels like these.

A comparison with the heels of guards, whose genders we do not clearly know. Their boots’ heels? Acceptable. My Male Clerics’? …Sigh.

Seriously. If I want heels, I’ll make a female character (thought it makes no sense on female adventurers / combatants either). Please give me flat shoes.

Your current character is poor, make him rich, buy him some new shoes , preferably not made out of straws ;D

It’s a interesting idea, but i doubt they care about this until they fix the 98% of ToS bugs.

… based on some quick research, most shoes for performance usually have some sort of arch support. Can you imagine your cleric’s blisters if he ran around fighting monsters his entire life in sandals with terrible arch and heel support? dang man, leave your poor guy alone.

Imagine how hardcore it would be, to travel through snow, dusty lands, dungeons, climbing mountains etc with heels 24/7 …XD

with a large flat heel like on a boot or those sandals, one has a lot of control over how they walk. I think navigating rough terrain would be a little easier than if you had one flat sole like on typical sandals/thongs.

… I would NOT wear sandals in the Mage Tower even if you paid me 100,000,000 silver.

firstly those are traditional clog-things with heels, it goes with the uniform
secondly, there is nothing wrong with males wearing heels, people wear what they want

I’m a guy and I LOVE the heels. People need to get over the stigma that heels are for women only. In fact, they were invented by men, for men (used to give a horse rider stability in the stirrups). Same reason why cowboy boots have high heels. There have been points in history where it was fashionable for men to wear heels and only later did women adopt the trend. I think it’s time to bring men’s high heels back into fashion =)

The popular culture throw in our faces stereotypes every day. Do you think women have always used pink and men blue? No, OF COURSE NOT. This is one more modern BS.

I remember have a small side discussion in a history class
ages ago about this. Interestingly enough, heels in ancient times where worn by
men and women. I know male Greek actors wore them during performances in
ancient times. In fact I remember… Persian
cavalrymen wore them as well. When the Persians sent diplomats to Europe…
European aristocrats adopted them as a sign of masculinity (believe it or not)

I also remember vaguely that during the middle ages in Europe,
the streets where muddy and filthy and a type of heel was worn not for fashion
but to elevate people off the ground and to… (Believe it or not) keep garments
from being ruined.

ANYWAY. History lecture over. Men wearing heels or clog
heels in TOS? Totally ok! Seriously if that bothers you that bad… I want you to
–really- think about why this is or… ignore it XD change classes for a new
costume.

That Male Clerics shows dominance with other Male characters because they show fashion in wearing heels?

That’s why I will make a Male Cleric because it’s kewl

:sparkles: Flimsy security in your masculinity if a slight shoe heel makes your character seem too feminine. :sparkles:

It’s a slight heel and I’m pretty sure the time period of this game isn’t based in MODERN DAY KOREA (despite a few male hairstyles which might lead you to believe otherwise :blush: I’m looking at you Shadow Perm.)

Also, I love how there’s so many buggy things and the Market place and chat has been down for like 9 hours+ but you choose to get on the forums to complain about your characters heels. :joy:

It’s funny… I mentioned in another thread about… you know… WHEN we had a market and how it’s usually up for up to an hour and down for the rest of the day and how it’s been in this pattern for… 5 or more days.

Besides. People need something else to do aside from complain about Tree of Bugs. (Sorry IMC I love this game deeply!) IMC is aware when the chat server is down lol. bet there ticket system is… about broken now too.
