That ones not insightful. We beat that point to death before the game even went into open beta. In the first don’t P2W wars. And I think I mentioned that myself a couple times already since this Gacha bit started. Lasting financial dmg from brand reputation is how I framed it though. Going P2W has ramifications beyond just ToS.

This is the whole premise of my statement. The only thing that we know for sure is that Costume Gacha are what is heading this way. Instead we have people screaming and leaving over sh’t that will “most likely” not even hit our servers. Personally, it generally flocks from the same people who spout garbage non-stop. They’re almost as a detriment to TOS as IMC is.
P2W to me is having to spend real life money on something you cannot acquire in game. If X item comes inside a Gacha box, it better be in game as well. If it takes a regular player a year to get said item from playing, then to me that’s not P2W. If items provide the means for players who spend money the convenience of acquiring something faster then someone who doesn’t, again, not P2W to me.
The pets with double equipment I can understand, sort of. Considering pets are laughable at best and all this does is make hunters a little less Hun-tarded. At least the pets.
If you wait till the last minute, it will be too late
Who knows, maybe the screaming and sh1t can influence their “internal discussion” about bringing gacha here or not. (haha i’m dreaming)
I once thought the same. Until I played some mmos that used this model and realized it doesn’t encourage most new players to stay for long because of the lengthy time investment needed to match premium players, you will end up with a very small population that is mostly premium. This gap will only get bigger as higher ranks are introduced, we can already see the jump in difficulty from Rank 7 to Rank 8.
Technically speaking that is pay for convenience but if the convenience gap is too big it will really drive many existing players off.
pokes gently There are some legitimate concerns in this thread but point taken. It’s pretty rare for me to get worked up with anti-imc stuff, but I genuinely loathe gacha as a concept across every game I’ve encountered it in.However, I’ve definitely put up with it in the past by not using it. I think my biggest complaint is them removing all of the cosmetic items from normal purchase and putting it into the gacha (based from what was in the announcement).
Now, the announcement also looks like it’s going to be a purely cosmetic prize list assuming that there wasn’t information left out or it doesn’t get changed. I have much less of an issue with that for people that enjoy it since the value/reward is the same. I actually like the idea of an exchange shop where you can trade in old cash shop stuff to get something else.
I hope it’s a variety of items you can turn in for points. It’s a good idea. We all have that hat/outfit we wish we hadn’t bought (yay for market trade).
I apologize if I’ve come across as ranty or rude. You’re one of the good guys here. <3
@joeswaaz Go find something more productive to do than bothering me. I’ve never claimed to be a whale, but I spend a fair/moderate amount of cash on this game each month. I don’t particularly like you, but I don’t go out of my way to be rude to you. I am aware that the fact that I’m a woman who actually has opinions (strong ones) offends you. You might want to get that looked at. Shoo.
Oh no, I wasn’t bothered by anything you said and I can understand peoples fear of certain things coming here even if irrational at points. I actually thought the whole exchange shop was pretty cool, if implemented right. Now that I will wait and see on. As far as being a good guy, I just try to stand at a logical point even though at points I’ll bite the bait a bit too hard. ToS is a game. It’s the FIRST F2P I have ever really enjoyed more than a two week spread. I haven’t stopped playing yet with no signs or quiting anytime soon. That says something. IMC has a beautiful gem here that is in dire need of polishing. But I can still see the beauty underneath.
@haukinhue I get that, I do. But honestly. Tough Kittens. It’d be like me joining FFXI and quitting 3 weeks later cause I’m not 99 with all the best gear. Took me a year and a half to get my SMN 75 with Yinyang Robe. Did I quit because it took me that long to catch up to those before me? Jesus Christ kids are buttercups these days. (Yes, I get your point though and I agree, people are bit’ches.
) I guess in part people want to be competitive, but really as I’ve said multiple times; there is absolutely nothing in ToS to be competitive about. ToS has the worst PvP I’ve ever seen in any MMO I’ve played. One shots, 100% CC locks, Gear or no gear it’s a who gets who first fest. Other than that, really? Competitive? I just can’t see anything else besides not wanting to put in the time or effort as the person before you did.

Actually, I think everyone’s flagging your posts because of how unlikeable and annoying you are. huehuehue.

You seem pretty dense so I’ll make this as straight forward as I can possibly do for you.
First and foremost let me say this; Our opinions of what the game is, or is not may vary.
Secondly, again with the term “White Knight” which has played no part in this entirety of this thread. Please look up what the term means. But if we so choose to use that word in the sense of someone defending a companies actions, then so be it. It still does not apply here. The only people who tend to use such words are those who flock to terms like “Yolo, Swag ■■■, Weebo” ect. I call them; generation retarded.
Third; Who is the Whale? The guy who spends 20$ a month on something he enjoys? Do you know what “Whale” means? Or is it jealousy perhaps that maybe you can’t afford to do such things? Or perhaps you are one of those players who seem to hate the game, and cannot fathom why anyone would actually enjoy said game?
Fourth: You replied to this thread, and even posted a picture in hopes that someone, in this case me; would give you the attention you seek. Congratulations are at hand, and then call others attention seeking. In which case I find amusing because like most of the Hue-Tards around here whom don’t even play the game anymore, you seem to want nothing more than attention.
Fifth; Do you feel better now that you have my attention? Because I feel absolutely handicapped replying to someone who has special snowflake syndrome such as yourself.
Signed,
Just Another Anonymous As.shole
I’m not saying that you did anything wrong. Maybe you’re just a naturally annoying and unlikeable individual. huehuehue

Okay Chief. You’re correct in the fact I don’t always fully read someones dribble when it comes to Tree of Saviors forums.
Already said you got my attention, and you should feel like you have made a % of your quota for the day.
On a side note; as much as I loathe Memes, that one is pretty funny.
I always wonder if IMC even reads threads like these.
They must’ve already had a board meeting or two about iTOS and must know the backlash they will face if they put the kTOS stuff here.
Still makes me wonder if they read all of this.
Pay 2 Win
Win what I ask? TBL where the only reward is a number by your name?
GvG that no one does?
World bosses that are faceroll tier easy?
Seriously, let whales be whales and fund this game while the rest of us sit back and continue not caring.

I dont think the term “white knight” shows up in any dictionary or other authoritative source. I could be wrong, I guess.
