while I was checking out the English translation to prepare stuff for moving to a german translation, I noticed something which is not that nice.
I just checked the English Skill File, but this already contains some huge inconsistencies.
I want to show an example:
Original Korean:
SKILL_20150317_000318 [엘로마고] 물리, 찌르기, 뇌속성, 1회 공격
SKILL_20150317_000319 [엘로구아] 물리, 찌르기, 뇌속성 1회 공격
These lines have two differences
- the name in the brackets
- the comma after 뇌속성 on the first skill line
people translated this all over the skill table as
SKILL_20150317_000318 [Ellomago] Physical, Pierce, Lightning Property, Attack
SKILL_20150317_000319 [Ellogua] Physical, Pierce, Lightning Property Attack
(I got told the following from a native Korean speaker) In Korean, a comma means nothing important for the grammar, it is not affecting the grammar. For English or especially German, this is a huge break in. normally both lines, needs to be translated to the end phrase “Lightning Property Attack” without the comma, as it is totally unimportant for the English translation.
one problem I see here is that all languages like Spanish, French, German, … will be based on the English translation, but this one is already incorrect on that point. problems like this, can become a huge problem if this does not gets eliminated before people go on and work with inconsistent lines.
