Tree of Savior Forum

Is this how things are gonna be from now on?

Just want a clarification so that in the future I wouldn’t be so frustrated.

  1. awful start
  2. after making an update to deal with spam bots dungeons get broken (bots are still here)
  3. instead of fixing it asap and everything else like any western dev would do, overworking if needed, imc goes on weekend like everything is perfect maintaining its usual trademark radio silence

Am I misunderstanding something? Isn’t this official forum?
I understand this attitude back when it was icbt2, because they didn’t owe us anything. But now?
So in the future if the game gets completely unplayable, armaggeddon etc. we will have to wait at least 3 days because its friday?

Seems like it. I am quite disappointed too.

They’ll fix it. It’s in their best interest. They’ll listen to us. /endjedimindtrick

Well they are human too. They have families, doctor visits, and other responsibilities too. I’d rather have healthy hard workers over dying overworked workers.

Yes other companies toss the well being of their staff out the window, but that is wrong. Workers are not slaves, and there is nothing wrong with taking a much needed break.

It would have been nice if they could have hired a weekend team or something though. :unamused:

Well I think they are employees. Employees often don’t care at all about the company. They want to get the work done and go home.

It’s not like they’ve never compensated us for any issues. Geez, give them a chance.

Theyre on weekend? There was some gm’s online banning some bots and taking care of the community earlier.

For me the laggs and random disconnects are killing the game. It’s just a head start with founders pack and server has so much problem. Imagine going free to play. It will be a massacre.

Not every company employs 24/7 support staff.
And even if they did, support people more often than not, have very little power when it comes to big issues like that.

For the most part they must wait for dev team to go through the logs, then come up with some kind of solutionn, get it approved with management… So unless the whole staff is working graveyard shifts, stuff only begins happening on Mondays.

aaaand that is exactly why they have 1 month to adjust it and not 3 days, let’s just hope for the best

Who is asking them to work 24/7? Now is the most important time of the game’s lifespan, time when opinions are formed. Do you even play the game and how far did you progress? You would know how many problems are there right now, that need fast fixing, yet they only add to trouble and continue with their routine.

A.) No mmo on this planet had an A+ problem free start right off the bat. NONE.
B.) This is the start of the BETA. You are playing pre-release.

Fight against bots is a perpetual, always ongoing battle.
If it was me, i would simply start banning the ip ranges of the assholes who try to make money by ruining the game for others.
Would they send one single message once every 10 minutes, nobody would really give a damn, but the 2 second delay perpetual spam they do is next to ddos-ing the servers. They should be handled accordingly and just put on a blacklist straight.

BS. The amount of devs who would do overtimes just for the **** of it are rare and mostly work at companies which need to do it because they are losing hundreds of thousands of players.

TL;DR:
You are playing an mmo.
If you do not know what that involves, especially when the servers reach open beta, feel free to go offline.

they had a 4 month of closed beta tests and two week of pre purchase time for founders packs, and still all went to crap.

I am playing the game all right, and I am fully aware of the multitude of problems it has.

It just so happens that I know what it takes to launch a game and what amount of work is required to deal with immediate post-launch problems. Unless you’re a company with staff numbering in hundreds, if not thousands, the process of ironing out the bumps is slow and painstaking. Not even Blizzard managed to pull launches flawlessly, and somehow, I don’t think IMC has even 1\10th of manpower to try and match that.

It always does.
It’s how well you manage to recover after the sh1twаve hits that matters, and that remains to be seen ATM.

I’m a doctor. If there’s a state of emergency, and I’m called to the hospital at saturday 1am, I get my half-asleep corpse to my workplace and I do what I was trained to do. I’m getting paid for it, and its my goddamn duty to be able to do that.

They have their own company, which from what I’ve heard is not doing that well, and they decide to leave the house on fire and just go for a weekend, without leaving ANYONE to make sure that the business is doing fine. This is something that I’m unable to understand, despite trying really hard.

Actually, no. They left one person in charge of telling everyone around (but only once, after the house was burning for 16 hours already), that they’re perfectly aware that their house is on fire.

Your profession is based on morals and expectations.

IMC is a F2P gaming business, which creates cash cows and needs to hold enough expectations to have a general player-base. It also thrives off of creating hype so there will be enough fanboy white-knights who will defend the title and do free advertising.

You do your job right, IMC is actually do what their realm of business is used to.

This doesn’t make sense to me.
They milk people, and at the same time, they don’t care about these people. People are leaving left and right, their house is on fire, and they just leave like nothings wrong. I’m not business-money-making guru, but I’m pretty sure that when there’s lots of work at a small company (which they are, from what i heard), you stay at work and do damage-control strategies, atleast. :o

It’s sad to see that IMC doesn’t care about his Community.
I know it is a “early access” or “open beta” whatever, BECAUSE it is an early acces or open beta they need to do everything they can to solve every problem as fast as possible and keep the community up to date.

Many players dont even know if they will play in a long term or not and with this early start IMC should show his player base what they capable of.

All we can say is that they can’t handle problems well and dont care about communicatin with his Community. And THAT is what IMC needs to fix as fast as possbile, because atm the player base seems nothing more than a very bad Company and that is what the players will thing of when they hear/read something from IMC.

The F2P market is all about one-shot wonders with at least a measurable consumer base.

Many F2P games before actually did not worry about the general playerbase, but whether or not they caught a “whale.” In the business, whales are players who will spend thousands to thrive as tops in a community. If you have at least a work-able player-base for the whales to exist in, the company is fine.

So take ToS for instance. 26k or so players bought the founder pack. Within that crowd will be some whales to do functions such as gachapon or enchant re-rolls, and other cash shop in the future.

IMC was responsible for Granado Espada, which actually required cash shop to progress. You hit 100, you buy a veteran card, a master card, etc. for all increases. Each card was about…$5? And you had 3 characters at once, so intervals of 15’s + additional characters.

People die when doctors are absent.

Games servers crash when devs are asleep. Players get to sleep early and get better health as a result.

Big difference really.
