Is this a bug or a cheat, you judge

Hi Guys,

Since the game is still in CBT, obviously there would be bugs here and there so I might just be mistaken. Here we see two characters possibly taking advantage of a bug or are actually forcibly cheating the game. Now I know that I do not have the authority to judge, all I have is a video to show you guys.

Here are the details, in this part of the map there is a quest where you kill a boss (Bramble I think?) and with all the bosses in TOS of course it drops alot of Silvers, and quest bosses once killed cannot be killed again since they are part of the story. Notice these 2 guys, named RXRX and Nauata, they kill the boss, the loots drop then they suddenly disappear only to reappear again with another set of loots, rinse and repeat.

At the time of typing, they are still continuing this and have changed there names (which I wasn’t able to copy because of the complexity of the names and wasn’t able to screenshot since I was busy typing).

Below is the video of the deed, you judge:

Well, unless they wanna test things that costs many ingame money, they are just wasting time. I mean, they will be wiped anyway when closed beta is over. :stuck_out_tongue:

better if they fix this early, imagine if this was still rampant during OBT, or worse during official release

They are probably just abandoning the quest and retaking it? Not sure if thats possible with main storyline quests

perhaps, but it was their unnatural way of moving through the map that got my attention (they teleport back and forth the area), plus why bother changing names, unless they want to elude detection?

There is a way to farm bosses in ToS. Its not that hard to figure out.
Make a bulky healer or a higher level character and keep joining new parties going after that same boss.
In this way, you’re helping and using other players quest for farming. A well coordinated party…most likely a group of real life friends could take the quest one by one. This way you could go after the same boss at least 5 times.

Its…a good way to farm silver, gems and equipment.

I think it might be possible to kill the boss then abandon the quest to kill it again and again. Do remember that this quest also require u to destroy the root.

Gonna try that now…

Even if its within the coding and perfectly legal (not against ToS) to use/do, It can still be considered an Exploit.

To explain, The abandoning quest coding was put into the game for broken quests or otherwise lag-induced in-completion where the quest can no longer serve its intended function. Because of this, abandoning the main quest is also possible. Although they are not hacking or using other cheating methods, they are exploiting an intentional gameplay design to gain benefits.

The company (IMC) has three ways of solving this issue.
1 - Punish the exploiters and leave the coding as is
2 - Remove the ability to abandon main quest lines
3 - Do nothing and say it’s part of the game.

Regardless of the method used, This will be closed beta and exploits are bound to happen. Even in released games, people try their best to cheat the system. its best to enjoy how you play and not worry too much about others.

But they do not change party, notice the left side of the screen it’s their party.

I hope so, I was thinking earlier that maybe they were disconnecting after getting the rewards? But if they do that the quest would have already been cleared.

Well anyways, a bug is a bug, and exploiting it would be bad. But meh, its still CBT, heres to hoping they fix this since that’s the whole point of having a CBT, you know testing and fixing bugs.

What it may be, and this is hypothetical…
They are a party so what if they abandon the quest DURING the boss fight?
I’m not sure if it kicks you out of the instance or not, but I dont remember if the quest auto-completes. Either way, like @marcusvinimordado said, its closed beta. I wouldn’t worry too much about it

You can abandon a quest after completed…just tested

I’m at the philosophy of player shouldn’t be punished for whatever they did in the game as long as there is no clear regulation that restrict it.

It’s an abuse that should be fixed. But the player shouldn’t be punished for doing it.

Did another 2 runs…
Note: You can abandon a quest once you completed but the Boss DOES NOT drop anything. Not even silvers.

So…we could just assumed that they took the quest one by one…

Seems the most reliable.
Problem solved!
