I’ve noticed that there a lot of players that only cares about getting fast level, in order to clear dungeons to get cards, items, etc, but not enjoying the story-lore of the game and many other curiosities of it (like hidden quests, npcs conections, story, etc). So, it’s the roleplay dying? haven’t seen a roleplayer in days, people only cares for doing saalus, dungeons, etc, but they don’t care on helping each other with quests and the others game content, it’s kinda like a ghost/asocial server where there a lot of botters and people doing their stuff. I do roleplay, that’s why i’m asking, what happens?
It’s been like that for a very long time.
Most people do all the quests once on one character, then they only do the Revelation ones since the quests are linear and too repetitive. When they’re like that, unless you have a really interesting story behind, people won’t care since they aren’t even worth it in terms of exp or money. IMC also pushed people to focus on daily chores and grinding so they can upgrade their gear - which takes a LOT of your gaming time, that’s why people just rush to max level in order to farm forever.
It makes sense that people wouldn’t care as much about the RPG side of it anymore. Anyway, it’s not like TOS has a lot of RPG or interesting lore and stories to begin with. It’s pretty average.
It’s funny that i asked my guild member grinding in 340 hg with me because my musket was too weak to solo, but he refuse because he scared that i will take all off his loot, he was my friend in guild for a long time and i feels so lonely since i couldn’t do anything with other players anymore since it better to farm alone
My group is skipping revelations too, we did them only on our mains. It makes you waste too many hours to do meme quests.
@dotuyetthanh123 that sucks, i think that’s the only current real problem for me, i take my friends with me even if i can solo everything. They will reduce my silver, but the happiness in the world increases.
The round robin loot distribution feels weird imo too. We always end up getting uneven loot distribution when we farm as a team. Even as a 2 player group, like one of us will get 20 equipment drops while the other only gets 5.
This makes it hard to farm as a team where everyone expects to have equal loot share.
I imagine something like Need/Greed could work.
I think the round robin treats silver as a loot so it ■■■■■ up i guess?
Wow’s masterloot could be good too, with one designated player of your trusted group handling the items, but knowing IMC they could ■■■■ that up too.
ppl are to busy they do 300 dun/saalus with 10+ chars everyday ~.~
The only gripe I have about the Need/Greed or Masterloot system is the hassle to keep selecting an option whenever a loot drop. This makes it cumbersome for the party leader especially in action style games. Can’t really imagine playing CM where every 5-10secs there will be a dialog box popping up.
Interestingly silvers have its own separate loot options for ToS. Perhaps it is some coding issues that make the game treat silver as a loot too.
They don’t take that long though ?
If you skip the blue ones, and the yellow ones that lead to the Revelation go pretty fast I feel. At least on DPS characters, on supports it might be pretty awful… New Blessing makes it much faster too.
Although usually in my Guild we go like “Hey, anybody wanna do the Revelation quests ?” at a high level, and we do them all together so it goes faster~
Roleplay? With current course soon our chars will mount some flying dildo.
I role-play all my characters, the sad part is that am far from been able to play again
That’s because the loot share system is idiotic and considers an orange weapon drop the same value as vendor trash materials.
The game is all about developing autism as you grind through these RNGs. You wont be able to progress unless you develop one.
If you do 95% of contents in TOS means youre playing bad compared to some autistic individual who grind all day in one map or park in klaipeda to spam DG for exp.
Since IMC is proud of what TOS has become ill just suggest to remove EXP cards from these quests and give them attribute points instead, the exp will instead be given instantly after you cleared the quest. At least these poor souls who are doing the most contents still getting stronger as they progress on how they want to play the game.
the simple solution for loot share system is make all member get every dropped item. Imagine if dungeon only give 1 cube to 5 member party, everyone will solo dungeon.
That’s the thing, Saalus for x10, DG300 for x10, DG340 Farming, the game seems have not changed since R8
Can’t avoid it, the moment you do, you lose a lot.
Actually there’s no “value” in the loot distribution. It’s quite straightforward:
A) Individual: Who picks gets the item.
B) Random: Item goes randomly to a party member when picked. (Can go more times to the same person I think.)
C) Round Robin: It creates a order to the loot distribution.
I honestly can’t see how to properly distribute loot by value on this game because you can’t predict future drops.
One of the solutions would be adopting value as factor for loot sharing.
Another of the solutions would be lifting trade restrictions on newly obtained items for players in the same party.
Or, make it a different loot system where players only obtain the loot after the farming session, kind of how dungeons works atm.
The problem is that IMC isn’t doing anything to encourage role playing, if anything they are actually killing it. Veterans are already kept busy with dailies/grind/events etc to power up their characters for end game content. The rookie event for example, that has been consecutively running for a few months now basically discounts the entire early/mid game phase for the beginners to the point where TOS may as well become a full fledged dungeon crawler at this point. There’s lots to do, lots to role play and admire in this game such as the lore/BGM/maps etc but what can you really expect from players when the game company itself is literally ASKING them to disregard all of that and just go straight to end game so you can grind dailies/events etc.
starting today i will break that chain, stop saalus-ing, enjoying the moment. Thanks for the idea of lose a lot
舍得,有舍才有得!
Since i start to play again 2-3 months ago i never was in saalus.
I only do duns for exp this means maybe 3 runs a day.
I can play the char that i want to play and do what i want to do.
And still i got lvl 70 attributes 350 tans 6 and 2 other chars with orange T3 weapons.
(Im dont even sure if saalus is still worth it)
