Is the roleplaying dying in this game?

I didn’t do Saalusx10 anymore but x2 only to earn shards for raid portal, before R9 i hiatus for a month because of over doing it.
I force myself doing it for consecutive 2 months and it hurt my life and health, made me want to quit the game more.

I’ve 10 characters and decide to abandon most them, reset them with mostly crafter/appraiser/supporter class.

IMC should get rid of Transcendance System, either make the item tradeable in storage or cut the cost and effect by half so it is not that hectic. (10% per stage)
Together with Stats balance to improve GvG/PvP, they should give more atk/matk from stats to compensate reduced transcendence effect. And CON shouldn’t give blocking, it should be same as how crit rate is taken out from gears.

Reducing dungeon to 1 (non token x2 rewards, token x3)
Will give us more time.

I like what they did to saalus.

I absolutely agree, 3 dungeon runs per character EVERYDAY is a sin, if you have more than 4 characters you just get stuck doing runs all day and can’t enjoy content
If you don’t, you can’t make money and enjoy content.

I doubt they’re gonna do something about it since they’ve created premium items (multipliers and reset vouchers) in order to profit using this dungeon system

Well you could just farm 340 hg/ch mode but in the end its just another daily chore xD

Impressive how the topic of the thread was replaced for another xd

Round Robin system can be easily fixed. Just make separated lists for each kind of drop. Blue gear gets its own distribution order list, Purple too and Orange the same. Common loot falls in the default distribution order. That would avoid cases where only one party member hoards all purple and orange items while everyone else gets only blues or even worse, only useless materials.

For example, if your party has 3 people and you get these drops in the following order:
Material, Material, Bertas, Raffye, Raffye, Primus, Material, Raffye, Bertas, Material, Bertas, Bertas, Material, Material, Material

Those drops would be distributed like that:

  • Current Round Robin system

Party member A got a Raffye gear and 4x materials. He’s never going to farm in a party again.
Party member B got a Bertas gear, two Raffye gear and 2x materials.
Party member C is the lucky member, he’s got 3x Bertas gear, one Primus gear and only one useless material.

  • Suggested Round Robin system with separated lists

Party member A gets the Primus gear, two Bertas pieces, one Raffye piece and 2 materials.
Party members B and C both get one Bertas, one Raffye and 2 materials.
B would be the next one to receive a Primus and a Bertas piece. They’d probably want to keep on farming together.

12 chars here, saalus is one of the most time consuming daily chorus, but there’s also DG 330 for the 660k, events, ET, uphill (lv 2 gem abrasives), Challenge Mode, Raid 330, well, no time left for roleplaying, all those things I mentioned requires almost 10~12 hours of game play, sometimes I have to skip some dailies because I’m a human being and I have real life problems to deal with.

We shoud get a free practonium on every monster kill and max level

nice idea you got there
btw, i tried to not care about fulfilling saalus quota today and i feel …more human, seeing every shout about saalus is like a robot who type that shout

I swear every single suggestion you make on the forum is completely and mind-bogglingly retarded.

well, like i care~ this is just a game, anything that you do wont provoke me
feel free to continue swearing~
good night

I’m not really fond of RPing but what I noticed on other games that have a plentiful RP community is that they have the following:

  • Cute Characters. TOS has them, the characters look half-dead without lenses but I will still give this a checkmark :heavy_check_mark:
  • A plentiful selection of gestures. TOS has very few, and half of them are behind Token-wall :x:
  • Face expressions: TOS has no such feature, several emotes change the face expression but they don’t really count :x:
  • Dances: TOS has nothing but a single dance that was officially released, behind token-wall. :x:

I think people dont quest mainly because they’re extremely boring and unrewarding. My suggestion is quest should be like:

  • To get bis gear/materials like the practonium is. Or at least usable gear (maybe some kind of enchants). Maybe also outfits
  • To get access to dungeons/hg This is kind of forcing people, but it’s a start
  • Maybe to learn new/hidden skills/attributes.

Exp couls be just a secondary reward

People don’t do quests because level up is easy.
Every week there are exp events, and new players got always a nice event for lv up fast.

Back my day, when the cap was 270, you had to do all the quests to use cards and level up.
With my main, 2nd and 3rd characters I’ve done all Klaipeda maps and even all Orsha maps.

Some story quests gives you Stat points.

The truth is: when you have done it for 3 times, they are boring.

Now players do: dungeons 3 times with all character for money, Saalus and grind mostly in solo because the loot system isn’t really good.
When I play with my friends in 5, there is always the “lucky” guy who gets everything.
Personally I don’t care too much, but this is a reason why people prefer to play alone…

IMC kinda killed roleplay itself over and over again, giving the final blow when they assumed it would be healthier for the game to give periodical plenty of exp rush events instead of fixing the problem the game itself has in progression and leveling.

Also, even me that LOVE quests and lore and actually read ALL OF THEM at least on my main, can’t bring myself to do it the 4th or 5th time, it gets repetitive pretty easily and the worst is, main quests are so rare… you get 1 pretty damn good map with interesting music, lore, monsters, bosses, makes you remember why you love this game and then you have 10 maps with the same kinds of quests over and over again. It’s past time to rework quests so you can have straightforward line of main quests to do.

That aside, nowadays people are hella competitive and individualism prevails, it’s not only that loot system is bad, at least on my server people HIDE information just so they can be “more powerful” than others, they don’t tell where the world boss are, don’t teach new players basic things, just act toxic towards them and GUILDS, a place to gather and have fun are treated like proper jobs, if you don’t login daily or do what they want AND pay talts every week you can’t be on it. Maybe the way players act is what killing the game, more than IMC and their problems.

Personally in order to increase Role-Playing i would suggest one aspect from the game “Eden Eternal” and i guess many others. Influence points per Regions. And with the influence points on every region you could buy special items only from that place. A new item type such as “trophy” could be added, with important boosts to stats depending on Character Level so it’s equally rewarding at any level after completing it, and the obtaining influence points would be via Questing from the maps in that region and also adding some “Story questline” (similar to party quests from mercenary post, around 10 diferent quests for each reagion).

In order to roleplay in the game you also need to have a certain reward from following story, so Main quests (all orange) could give statues points, maybe even more than 3, so it’s rewarding for every player. If you could get 150 stat points from quests, you would do it most likely, it’s a one time thing per character anyway.

Furthermore, EXP cards shall be reworked, they used to be incredibly useful because monster EXP was low at the beggining, now sometimes they give only 10% of the EXP of a monster you can one shot with buffs. There are diferent ways to change this. One could be simply changing the amount of EXP given per card.
Another more interesting one could be, instead of the “Share stories of adventure” option on Vibora, have another option which would not give you EXP cards but immediatly make your character advance 1 entire rank.

so let’s put it in perspective: If you have done the ENTIRE story of the game, every single quest there could be, and you don’t want to go through leveling the character, you could rank up fast a new character via this option. How it would work in my mind:

If you clear all quests in all maps under level 20 you are granted experience for base level 20 and class exp 15. The next milestone would be completing all quests in all maps under level 45, then 75, then 120 and so on. The problem about making characters so fast would be that players would not get the feeling on how to play that character so I would also suggest adding a special quest in order to obtain the rank up reward. The quest could be pretty intense from, killing 150 monsters in your level range, to killing a boss solo, to protecting a group of NPC’s from a monster horde. Also this “rank up” system should allow the use of all discovered Vakarines with your entire Team.

So to round it up:
Main quests being more rewarding (Status points). Secondary quests giving better EXP via EXP cards. New characters not needing to undergo questing and being able to immediatly rank up after succesfully passing a test. Vakarine statues unlocked for new characters. Addition of “trophies” as a possible reward for clearing storylines on each region (trophies would be equipable and give effects like cards or statuses).

I feel this should help player base granting a reason to do main quests on all characters, and at least all side quests once on one character.

Also, I agree on the point that Dungeon entries should be reduced to 1 like saalus and reward based on token, maybe making dungeons a bit harder too. Doing 1 dungeon 3 times in a row as a new player is boring.

Questing is also annoying as ■■■■. I almost pulled all my hair off because I decided to do the Neringa/Vaivora questline with a Swordie. The writing is good, I really like ToS lore and all the tension involved in that questline, but god damn it, how annoying it was to do the quests in Valandis Room 9 with all those clown fuckers.

Not only that, Mishekan Forest probably gives more EXP cards and silver than all R9 quests combined. It’s really underwhelming. When was the last time we got titles gained from quests?

Is the Neringa/Vavoira questline really well-written? Might pay attention to the dialogues next time I climb Saucys/Valandis.

Aye, I found Neringa/Vaivora questline really nice.
But I found all major quest line (where are the Goddess) very nice.
I didn’t like the things to do in quests, I really hated the one at 3rd floor with Protect and kill 100 mobs in total =w=

And I have agree to @Pokart , they give 1 card for 1 (even 2) mission… D:
