Is the game doomed to die already?

I play in the EU Fedimian server, and I have been noticing a decline in online users, which week after week is more and more noticeable.

Why is this happening and why do I think IMC is doing a horrendous job when it comes to keeping the few users they still have happy:

  1. IMC is concerned a lot more in adding content to the game, rather than improving the current content they have, which many people already talked about. The optimization of the game is shockingly bad, and so is the connection to the servers.

  2. Adding lots of events and stuff to do is nice, but not when you need to be at a certain level range and there aren’t enough people in the game. Everyone spends too much time looking for parties or queuing for party matching, which is making people give up the game as there is no point in wasting so much time waiting.

  3. A team is nice to have, but what’s with not being able to trade items within the team? Who will want to find the same items again for another character when the main character already got them and it was so hard to get? Or when the item we get is worthless for one character but good for another? Shame on you IMC…

  4. IMC loves bots, they are EVERYWHERE! in fact, I believe the reason why it shows there are still quite a few people online, is because half of them are bots. Not only this is horrible because they take over the farming and silver market, but it also makes it hard for people who actually want to farm silver, to actually get any good spots.

For me, these are the main points which are killing the game and that IMC should REALLY care about. Bringing R8 is nice, but what for it only a few people will be playing it? The game is far from being solid, and the management behind the game is doing a very bad job when it comes to keeping the users interested in the game.

Now for some suggestions about solutions for the problems I mentioned above:

  1. Optimize the game, it’s as simple as that. it’s 2016 and there are thousands of games with much better graphics than TOS which run smoothly. And as for the connection speed. EU server, why based in the US? a tiny brain could get that a EU server should be in Europe, not in the US. Even the clock is US time, when the server is EU… Oh well…

  2. Make events available during different times, to make all users go to the same events at a certain hour, for example, missions for 2 hours from 9am till 11 am and 9pm till 11pm, then another 2 hours of something else. The problem is that the few active users spread over the numerous events.

  3. Make all items (excluding exp cards) tradable within the team, this is a no brainer, the game just doesn’t work well with these restrictions.

  4. This one should be the easier one to solve… Unless of course, behind the scenes the bots are actually part of the IMC staff and have personal websites selling silver, I wouldn’t be surprised, otherwise why would bots still take over the game at this point? I see no improvements at all against bots, they just do whatever they want in the game, without IMC giving a SH** about it.

Thanks for reading and please reply with other problems and suggestions for improvements, hopefully IMC will read this.

Good points otherwise but Ive always wondered why pple say this lol
If IMC wants to sell silver why would they need to farm it?

I’m sure they will read this post as it replicates the last 36 post about this in the last two weeks. It’s well written and I really don’t feel like explaining myself again but I’ll just throw in some of my pointers.

Starting off; No the game isn’t going to die early. It was never meant to have huge numbers. Games have survived with much, much less people for 10 plus years. Why do I say ToS wasn’t expecting large numbers of players?

*It’s an extremely niche game, and in the west isn’t the type of game most people like. To much grind, and everything isn’t just instantly handed to you.

*Initial Start of ToS had only two Servers.

*IMC stated they had not expected anywhere close to as many people who started in EA.

1: Optimizing the game is not as simple as that. Please refer to FFXIV and see how long it took for a huge MAJOR company to optimize their game. Re-do the whole engine because that is what IMC will have to do. What took SE 3 months will take IMC 3 years, and then they’ll shut down due to lack of funding.

2: I’m really not sure what you mean here. Are you saying theres not enough people to grab the events off the board and go kill Tree root crystals?

3: I’m okay with this, well, most of it. I do think some stuff should be character bound.

4: You must be blind. I have seen a huge improvement. However, I have also played enough MMO’s to know as soon as one gets banned, three new ones will be made. Also, WoW still has a huge Bot problem. Blizzard must have their own bots too right? No. It’s just not a simplistic point and click game where botting is obvious. Feel free to google Bots and WoW.

Now the only thing I see that is pushing people away is the FPS issues. It IS the major thing. IMC IS working on it, but it will never be what people want. We may see an increase of 5 FPS here and there. That’s bout it.

As in so many games…getting bugs fixed is not an easy issue and adding more content or events to the game, so it wont get boring too soon, is not bad at all.

true, but the only way to change the waiting queu is to get more ppl in the game

Iam not sure if u use a token but iam abel to transfer money…and even most items (except the quest getting ones) between my team characters.

http://steamcharts.com/app/372000 You tell me, man. The last 30 days decay rate was 9% for a bit. Seems it’s accelerating again, though. We’re going to be below 5000 soon if this trend continues.

The difference is FFXIV was reusing code from lots of previous games whilst tos is starting from scratch, with much less code and unless their dev team is made of monkeys, they shouldn’t have made several design mistakes already.

I agree with the rest though

You’re doubting IMC’s dev team is made of Monkeys? Lol don’t get me wrong, I love ToS, but it isn’t because they have the brightest stars running it. That’s a whole different story however. lol

Actually, ToS is using a version of the engine IMC developed for Granado Espada.

Apparently their upcoming title Wolf Knights is using it, too. Yikes.

I can dig up sources for this if you’re disbelievin’.

Alright. Their dev team is made of monkeys who don’t know the open-closed principle. Let’s just pray to the owl sculptures for updates then lol

Ok another dying ToS thread over and over again.

Fedimian is located in Europe. Frankfurt to be exact. Don’t believe they’ve changed it since.

Japanese tree of savior will be realesed soon. meaning they are still growing and has yet to begin their franchise

Meanwhile they merged korean servers into two and as for ITOS, well the steamchart numbers are there for alll to see.

Jtos has been online around 1 week but population is decreasing slowly.
Players maybe care about game quality more than us in Japan. If you can check the reviews you will find out that they think 10 fps for a mmo in 2016 is a joke.

Well, maybe they just too busy to play 60 fps mmo on ps4.

so this is servers status from jtos?
looks like jp people does not like these kind of game

Hilariously enough, jRO got a massive boost in players after jToS released.

There goes one of their main money income sources.

IMC just doesn’t get what players in this genre actually want.
