Is investing gold in attributes a bit pointless?

Considering the new R8 ranks, will those attributes eventually just fall off completely?

The only time attribute upgrades become useful is when you try to compete for top dps spot in a boss fight. Nobody cares about your attributes for most part of the game. It has nothing to do with R8 really.

Well… It help yourself lvling and R8 won’t mean you will have DPS spell up all the time at R8 + New weapon give a good amount of damage closing the gap between the R8 and older spell.

After that you get thing like agni, that increase firedamage by a crazy % depeding of the spell (Pyro profit from it the most)

Maybe somespell will not really matter anymore with the new mob but I doubt all the spell will become useless compare to R8 (Mostly the one with a great amount of multi hit)

best advice i can give is, try to get min lv30 attribute, coz its cheap.

normally lv50 attri would be good enough~

i mean, lv1 to lv50 attibute cost around few mil, u cant get as much dmg from anything the game anyway…

might as well lor

It’s the same thoughttrain as to not upgrade your weapon and gears…

I’d say investing in attributes is always a great thing. It trumps upgrading a current weapon in dmg. Also in ET/GvG/TBL upgrading them can mean a world of difference.

Attributes are the biggest thing in this game, even more so than actual gear. Long answer short, not only is it worth it but mandatory if you want to stay competitive.

^ what he said.

Pump attributes of the core skills in your rotation to lv.50 and then invest in whatever current end-game gear is available/possible for you to acquire.

You can get back to maxing your core skills later when you’re rich AF, starting with ones you rely the most.

For physical DPS players attributes are still number one priority. This is true in both R7 and R8.

For magical DPS players upgrading weaponry is the number one priority depending on which class you’re playing (e.g. Elementalist). This is not the case for high base damage jobs, such as Featherfoot C2. In R7, attributes were what matters most for all jobs. In R8, it’s dependent on the jobs you take. However even for the classes that need to focus on a strong weapon, attributes are still quite relevant and important after you’re breaking magic defense thresholds.

Do you know the values of these thresholds?

For non-elites it’s somewhere around breaking 1’000-1’500 with magic attack + skill damage. For elites, it hovers around 3’000. These are values you need to break to deal greater than one damage.

Huh that’s pretty ridiculous considering 1600 matk is pretty good and a little hard to get at r7.

I prefer upgrading my attribute rather than buying those overpriced end game bracelets…glad band and sissel😬

How can it be pointless when my stabbing at 50% upgrade and with 560+ critical rate, it hits for 15k crits lol… aiming to 100% would be crazy damage

Well if you are trying out new builds, then don’t waste money on that char, until you feel it’s going to be played regularly.

I’ve made the mistake of buying attributes just to find out X or Z build, I don’t like. So far, I’ve only invested in attributes for 2 of my chars that I know I like playing. I’m on my 3rd ā€œseriousā€ char, so I might end up buying attributes after I reach R8.

Attributes are more for MvP enthusiasts and PvPers. For PvE, a little bit of extra damage makes no real difference tho.

what? no.

75% f the attributes stay relevant all game, idk what build ur playing but its obviously classes with no good atttributes

I believe he is asking about worthwhile attributes. Enhancing attributes may not be worth after lv 280 due to high def/magic resist because they only count after the deduction of the enemy def/magic resit.

it’s pretty easy if you are not full con @_@…

How so? If you were lucky enough to get your rod to +13-15 and got 2 6* gems (not saying gems are hard to get) then yeah it should be easy.

transcend and weapon maintenance. a +10 rod is suffix. just burn 30% on a sup corona.

2 wiz bangle + animus with at least 250 int invested.u will hit at least 1.7k

edited part: if you are willing to burn 6m additional in for 60% and up you will get up to 2k easily.

Same goes to Physical damage on weapon , but imo at this stage if you are into max min 100% is good enough to last you till new gear @290 BIS.

The only class where i see peeps getting hard to go pass 2k base is prolly fencer due to venier low base damage… unless there are other highly gear specific classes ( DCG is there so i won’t really count it as a low tier damage weapon for QS)

Oh forgot about weap buff, don’t use it that much, with that for sure it’s really easy. Getting lvl 2 transcend on a sup corona is not worth it though, especially at this point.
