INT vs Every other stat

Let’s be serious here guys. Do you think the INT stat is a bit lacking compared to the rest?
I mean INT only provides 1 damage in magic per level and that’s it.

Compare this with STR which provides 1 damage in physical, increase weight limit, and increase in critical attack. Wow that’s THREE bonuses gained from STR alone.

DEX? Same thing. THREE bonuses. Increase in crit rate, evasion, and accuracy.

Wait, im not done yet. SPR has FOUR bonuses, Increase in SP and SP regen as well with an increase in block penetration and increase in magic defence. FOUR bonuses now?

How about CON? Increase HP, Increase Crit Resistance, Increase weight limit, and Increase HP recovery. Wow, again?

Nah, INT is fine, but I’m biased because I’ve only extensively tested cleric classes.

Since there is weapons that are int based and add SPR as bonus damage, int is fine, since all cleric classes should have atleast some SPR. I’m sure wizards must have some similar mechanic, regardless they do very high damage with even a little int. You can also boost int way more than you can other stats (pots/skills/etc).

You have to keep in mind skill damage values for int based classes, and attribute scaling on int based classes.

Also int based classes get no benefit from crit dmg, since mages can’t crit. If a mage could crit, or if int gave anything more than m-dmg (let’s say m-crit), then all mages/clerics need a nerf. (this is me comparing INT to STR, the alternative damage stat)

The way the game is designed, going pure any stat is always less efficient then putting some points in another, so it’s fine.

Did you just clap for yourself?

This is a bit too vague when you only consider it by comparing INT to the other stats without considering the potential of the skills related to them, the role of the classes using those skills and the difference in effect of having or not having some of these statistics for those roles.

Maybe they could move the added carry weight limit to INT or crit resistance, because changing over block penetration makes about as much sense as having STR increase critical rate. It can’t work like that. Another way would be to have it have less diminishing returns compared to the other stats, so you have more reason to put into it, since making it a flat +2 dmg might be a bit too much.

But wizards (int based classes in general) have high skill damage naturally, so with attribute scaling from int, they get much more benefit out of it than a warrior would from str (atleast base damage, not crit).

Attribute scaling is a % of stats added as a bonus, so 1 int, isn’t actually 1 flat damage anymore for skills.

So it’s actually fine. If I got anything else out of INT (carry weight, crit resistance, block pen, etc), then I really would just go pure int, because it’d give me too much to care about other stats.

Str doesn’t increase crit rate, it increases crit attack. Dex increases crit rate.

Ehh, I don’t mind. Magic damage doesn’t need hit, to hit, so it’s fine. And seeing as it doesn’t need hit… Mannnnn! Some of these Wizards are going to be squishy! Rolling max INT…

Even with the skills in consideration, it still lacks in comparison with the other stats. I mean hey, if they added a magic crit function, I would be satisfied with those two because INT does scale if you put it in a high level.
What i’m ultimately saying is, I’m not satisfied with just a minuscule increase in magic damage and that’s it. This is strictly my opinion, you can say you do or don’t agree. Its your opinion after all.

I did say critical attack for str.

I was replying to ravens comment.

I’m questioning where you pulled that out of…
The fact it doesn’t add any other stat beyond magic damage is quite possibly for balance purposes.
Refer to Fate’s post, for example.

Your opinion is yours, but you’re probably mistaken when you think that INT on its own is inferior to their other stats simply because it doesn’t add as many values directly.
(unless your idea of superiority is in immediate value)

spr also increases Magic defence so it has 4

If they just did a flat out +2 damage on int. It’s not entirely too much because of their lacking in crit. Might as well go with a constant DPS than a burst for wiz/cleric if they still don’t add a crit function to the class.

I think Block Penetration was originally an INT sub stat and even if it wasn’t it should be imo and then it would be fine. Maybe SPR should give somekind of resistance instead too like vitality gives crit resist (maybe a bit of status effect or elemental one).

Yeah… Wiz feel kinda weird when every other class can crit for over 4k with auto attacks while one of our skills would be doing that damage so… dps is low when considering casting time and down time? I mean sure, wiz is good with straight up damage but I think bosses/mobs need more crit defense or at least not so little to allow 100% crit chance with such absurd numbers at lower levels. (not sure if they nerfed that yet because I haven’t been keeping up with the KCBT patches)

Wait… do you guys really want critical hits on magic damage?
wow… just wow

Have you ever seen an archer or barbarian crit? It’s a 4k aoe per swing/shoot

well int based attacks wont miss, but i guess they could have added another kind of bonus when lvling up int.

Naw I don’t want magic to crit. That’s stupid but if other classes are actually hitting for more than one cast of your skills with each auto attack, there is something wrong.

mayby add cooldown reduction for INT stat
