Instance Warning System?

Heyas everyone!

While playing this game last night with my friend, Barni, I was getting kind of annoyed with how jerk-ish the instance system currently is. Regardless of what you’re doing on the map, if someone in your party so much as breathes on an instance line, the entirety of the group (on the map) are dragged back into the instance without so much as a warning.

Do you think it would be beneficial to give people an option to warp in and/or opt out of instanced areas?

Thoughts?

I agree 100%

Either give an option to not warp the entire party or give a warning before entering an instance to have time to ask the party if they are ready.

Yup, a countdown timer to agree/disagree for each member before instancing would be nice.

Warframe uses a similar one when partying with pubs.

I see your point, but I must confess I like that feature. If you’re partying with someone, you’ll come to their rescue. If they have the habit of wandering around, that means coming to the rescue more often. =)

This feature actually affected my group negatively - we had some guys come back to a map from doing stuff in town, so they were catching up on quests that were a good distance away in the map. They were pretty annoyed when they got teleported in to the fight and had to walk all the way back. We also got people pulled in who were afk for a bit, and that wasn’t good at all. I suspect someone with low health somewhere else in the map would also not want to get pulled in.

I’m in favor of a confirmation box and scaling the instance appropriately based on how many people actually went in.

I was caught with no party like 4 times, the mayority of the time with no mana and had to hit and run more than 15 minutes every boss because I was a cleric with 8 damage without skills. I would like the warning to be also for solo players, to give them time to search for a party before entering or cancel the instance and go grind in other place.

Kind of a necro-post, I know, but…

I feel as though the developers moved away from the habit of making boss instances spawn simply from walking and instead transferred this feature to quest-objective markers needing to be “talked to”. While this is definitely an improvement, I still feel as though players should be adequately warned about incoming boss battles, so that we have time to prepare, find a party, etc.
