umm I could play both servers with just 1 acc (activated with 1 key) so…

Thanks for sharing! At least I have something to look at while waiting for ToS. :))

Add me on NA. :3

My impression:

  • The combat fluid in this game is not so impressive. About 300-400ms ping will make this game un-enjoyable. 200-300 might feel a bit clumsy.
  • Many item with potential P2W (I might wrong), but cash shop included Stats Pet, Stats Costume and Crafting Material.

I hope ToS will do better than this game, especially the Combat Fluid.

Can’t add, still downloading. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you for the Key’s guys. I greatly appreciate it. ^___^ Cya In-game!

Jhanjhan!

Still trying to figure the battle mechanics–doesn’t seem to explain it well. Should you constantly be switching between weapons as skills cool down, or yak get them situationally?

Ok so I played a lot of this tonight.

Got to level 11, but I spent a ton of time trying out all the gear in the shop, seeing how P2W it is. They gave us a lot of cash points to work with for free. Getting a rare Pet from the cash shop is pretty damn low. It might be set to 1-5% drop chance, I used about 80 random boxes and got 3. There are mostly only cosmetic items in the shop at the moment, but there are also weapons for level 40 only… Looks like the game is going P2W eventually…

Anyway, apart from that the game is super fun, had a lot of enjoyment so far, definitely worth spending a few hours on at the moment. I was planning on doing this earlier, but I just kept wanting to play. I just got disconnected, so now’s the best time I suppose.

The graphics are nothing special, the monster variation is uninspiring at the low levels at least, but they do indeed vary, thank god. The npc’s don’t cater for the low level, just get gear from the quests, don’t bother trying to buy anything. The crafting system seems interesting enough, but you can only choose one produciton skill between armour/wep/accessory and item productions (making unique items), after that your locked into that sub-class of equipment.

Best part of the game is the fluid and varied combat. This game was built for MvPing and PvPing. Very quick combinations, with a variety of uses. A very reactive game, for me it doesn’t feel boring, like I’m spamming the same button over and over. You can get quite creative with the combos, and improve the combo rating quite a bit if your fast and smart. Combo skills into CC skill into next weapon combo skills into CC so on. (The combat is rotating skills by swapping weapons. I would suggest mapping the swap weapon skill to a different key though.) Using Space bar (Dash), movement speed buffs and Blocking buffs, this game can be quite intense from what I’ve played. (I played Warrior)

Only other gripe is that it still feels like the community is separated, not much communication between each other. Everyone is just off doing their own thing. But unlike in Cabal, I did struggle to complete the first major dungeon on my own, as I let the bosses hp restore by mistake and ran out of mana potions. The boss had nice obvious animations, which required some reactions to as they came out pretty quick, and he was no push over. I like this game a lot.

TL;DR: This game is definitely worth a shot whilst we wait for ToS beta to be released.

I don’t think the combat fluid is good enough for an action game though.
In every MMO game, there are 3 ways to handle actions.

  1. Trust the client. This means people can cheat, but the results are instant. Usually apply for Offline Game.

  2. Wait until data arrives back from the server before doing anything. This is a very common strategy in RTS and MOBA games. If you click to move, the unit will only start moving once the server says so, which is 50-250ms later. If you are close to the server, you’ll quickly get used to the lag and everything feels pretty good. If you’re far away (Asia for example), it feels like you’re playing drunk. Every time you issue an order, nothing happens for quarter of a second. This does not work for Action RPGs.

  3. Start predicting the result of the action as though the server said yes, immediately. When the server later gets back to you with a result, factor it in. This is what Action RPGs (PSO2, Dragon Nest) do. It means that when you click to move, or click to attack, it occurs instantly and feels great. The problem is what happens when the server decides that the action can’t have occurred - that’s when the game gets badly out of sync, which require a ‘rubberbanding’, you’ll see character and mobs teleport to where they actually are.

Apparently, Inspirit Online using method 2, which require server for every action. When you press a skill, it needs a response from server, you’ll see a small delay for that skill to be activated, then a small delay to see the damage calculated. When the delay become too big, it will cause frustration for player. This method never suit an Action Game.

Method 3, is what game like Diablo 3 and Path of Exile using, even PSO2. Actions does not require server to perform, but the server will decide that action is valid or not. It will cause no delay at all in gameplay, make the combat more fluid.

I just hope ToS will use method 3. Because I saw in some CBT video, people got ‘rubberbanding’ back and get hit while they already avoided that skill. Kind of unpleasant for a live/death situation.

as you explained above i do experience the delay between each attack, though the idea of the game make me wanna to play but the delay really turning me away for awhile hope they gonna fix that combat fluid system…

while waitin ToS come out ofcourse :yum:

Apparently the devs is quite responsive with the delay case. Even players from NA experienced slight delay on each skills and rolling seemed to be a bug, not caused by ping. They said they wanted to fix this problem before the OBT comes, but let’s not get our hopes up yet.

Loved your detailed explanation about action handling, in which case I agree that this game should’ve used the method 3. I hoped there’s still time for them to do something about it or else it will become a major disadvantage of such a wonderful game like this one.

I had absolutely no ping or frame rate issues on the EU server, which is why I said the combat was fluid.

Is #3 the same concept that is used in Tera? The “desync” issue in PvPing? If so, #2 is a lot better than #3 because it is a lot more consistent.
