IMC's fanart event is bias af

Well they are not alone, many other companies undervalue artists.

Hmmm can’t agree with OP >,< sorry~
I don’t mind the repeated winners because obviously their arts are so amazing! And it’s not like they force IMC to choose them~
I agree with Chili that everyone gave their best effort~ and to those who worked on for weeks! wow! (wish I had the time)!
To be honest, I do agree there were some arts I wish had won because for one, it’s adorable and TOS related: gonna shout to this artist s1lv3rw0lf! Fan to your artwork! But not everyone’s favorite is gonna be on the loading screen. But I am glad some of the artists I root for did got in. Also, if you win once, does that mean TOS fanart contest is over for you? I’m sure we like to do this repeatable time!
Also let me wrap this up, real effort doesn’t equal to the time you spend on~ I didn’t spend much time on mine (u can see how I colored), but I did put real effort and passion to this fanart even knowing I wouldn’t win~
Also, just because I won or other 11 fellow artists, doesn’t mean our art is better than all of you who didn’t win~ It’s just matter of luck and random act of kindness
Please! don’t give up on tos fanart because Im looking forward to see more of your works whether you will win or not! Don’t forget to share in “artists compilation” forum! Thanks!

well that means you agreed with me. isn’t this the point of this thread?:stuck_out_tongue:
they should have won instead of the repeated winners. they deserve it more.

are you kidding me? xD
who would want their time to get wasted?[quote=“momotea, post:66, topic:348398”]

lies.

OP. It might be better for you to direct your issues with the artist concerned rather than generalizing the whole fanart community. Since you’ve already posted one of their past entries. Call them out already rather than lumping a bunch more others just cause certain somebody won 3 times.

Good point, that past entry is traced. But why bring up the concern so late.

Generalizing does more bad than good.

make up your damn mind miss hypocrite.
yes, you are a hypocrite for calling someone toxic and immature. I’m not even trying. you’re the toxic one here for calling me that.

probably because of this quote below?

There is some thing I feel like I should say before topic will be closed.

As an artist myself who participated in different events and competitions, if I’m participating, if I’m putting a lot of effort into my work(tho I didn’t submitted anything on the last contest), and if I’m not winning, I want to see quality works. I want to see better works than mine, I want to feel “Yes, those guys did better than me and judges was fair”. Looking at the past and current art-contest, I don’t have this feel. I don’t feel like artists who won (not all of them) worked hard. For me those chibis are 3-minute work, watching them as winners doesn’t feel right.

Also, just a question for IMC - on the first contest IMC stated what same artists “cant participate in the art-contests few times in a row”. IMC didn’t said if they changed this rule, so I expected more different works to appear at the new contests.

Looking at all this situation, I feel bad as an artist and as a part of the community. I don’t want to participate in future contests knowing IMC is not fair in judging. FeelsBad for all of the artists who participated and didn’t won, especially for this one. [SUBMIT]For a couple

Edit: Just looking at this thread I’m losing not only motivation to draw for Tree of Savior, I’m losing motivation to play this game. In the game where staff doesn’t care about players (no gvg for how long already???) there is nothing much players can do to save the game

did i mention they’re bad? you kdding me?
I just stated there are much more quality arts wasted than those.

so the repeated winner not qualified?

yes, compared to the quality arts that lost. :stuck_out_tongue:

dude I even like your art! I just went to check what you submitted.
Seriously let’s not argue anymore but hope you win for the next round.
Post your on the “artist compilation forum so we can keep looking at it.”

Don’t let this contest make you feel it’s a waste of time. It was worth seeing your art because of this contest as the rest of others who didn’t win.

These fan art contests are just a cheap way to get artwork without having to invest $$$. Just take your calculator, take the average salary for graphic artists per hour, then multiply it by the time invested and you’ll get the win for IMC for giving out a virtual currency and a title.

Do you honestly expect for people who can’t make their own art to judge fairly? All the events were kinda messed up, especially that headgear video contest where several entries chosen by the staff were violating the rules that IMC set themselves…

I was honestly considering to make a fan art up to that point, although it might have taken weeks to complete because I’m not very proficient with Photoshop/GIMP/etc., but when I noticed this blunder/fraud, I decided not to waste any second on providing artwork, even if it wasn’t for an event, because IMC doesn’t deserve any time invested for it.

This is from the loading screen. But I thought loading screens were fan arts to begin with. Is the one that won with that picture, not the original artist?

-> IMC starts making fan-art events: It’s all fine, everyone’s happy, things are ok.
-> OP does no effort to make his submit and start trying to say other people do the same and start saying non-sense things.
-> OP manages to demotivate others to a point a hue came to the thread.

But, from my opinion alone as an “outsider” (non-artist), people do like to see the fan arts and the work you do, pretty sure who submits entries aren’t really worried with relation of rewards x time spent x real salary per hour.

Also, we can’t know for sure no one there can make any art on any level. I also wouldn’t call it blunder/fraud, unless was a reasoning to explicitly demotivate people/“hueing”, and please, don’t come with “IMC already does it” thing.

Most of possible reasons for some arts not winning or not and as well the “I wanted this to win” was mostly said already. If they simply filter for explicitly theme, subtle submits might not go as a winner or may so, but honestly, it’s far from biased (to person), fraud or “no-effort” if there’s some theme restrictions or something else as criteria.

I think

herself should have commented at least the entries.

So from her perspective, she can say the plus or the cons whether you lost or won so it can motivate everyone without second thoughts.

When you do writing contests in other games, there are publishers who “invite” official novelists, or teachers etc… with identity not anonymous who can “judge” the works to be fair.

Here, like said in the thread, lot of things seem not right, beginning by the model contest with winning entries violating several rules and never answered to the community why + changing the rules without notice.

They just said they choose winners by RNG, after filtering out “Problematic, Debateable one”

Oh they should have been clear on this from the start, imo. But yep this is the gist of it, just a festival with some kind of lottery.
I understand the disappointment though, I also thought it was a contest of some sort and was gonna try slave off a few nights for it but fortunately I worked on my brother’s school project instead lol.
I’ll join next time but yeah, if I can’t complete it in one night I’m not gonna finish it then haha.

Help, i’m 100% sure one of the winning entry is traced (based on the fact it looks oddly familiar, the face looks wonky, their icon is random anime girl from an anime (not their own art, fanart, their character sprite or favorite anime/manga/game character cutout as most artist do), it’s their first art entry (correction, first ART EVER) and their social media is only cosplay photos.)

While my friends have conspiracy theory and doubts in the government, i have doubts and stalk to see if a legit artist

:frowning:

oh curious to see it!
Haven’t been clear from the start but because other previous festival had no problem… ppl just like coming up with new problems lately~ due to personal circumstance maybe~

Then how do you call it if IMC makes rules that prevent you from making your video look better for the entries and chooses people who worked against their own rules and tweaked their videos to look better as winners?

I call it fraud because it’s fraudulent behaviour against the people who abided the rules and didn’t get chosen in the process because they abided the rules, simple as that.
