IMC, prove us you care about iToS' feedback. Here is a constructive one

I’ve been dissuaded a lot into the making of this thread because of “doomposters”, but is this really new?
Last year I was one of them (hueknight, some will remember this old meta), you could check a previous “feedback” thread I posted last year, and now I’m actually siding with IMC for some things, most things, except some I will go through in this thread.

I will give feedback on things I noticed myself, especially for classes. I won’t be able to give solid feedback on classes I don’t actually play or know for example, so feel free to add your own down there, but I’ll still try.
I might come back and edit it to add stuff I forgot, because there is many things.

I will avoid PvP talk on purpose because of the dishonest and salt fest it becomes, I want this thread to be something taken into consideration, as it is its purpose.

I’ll allow myself to tag you staff members, in hopes that the feedback can actually be given to higher-ups.
@STAFF_Yuri @STAFF_Letitia @STAFF_Ethan @STAFF_Ines @STAFF_Han @STAFF_Amy

Let’s now start this. (Thanks to forums 00pS 500 iNtErnAl sErvEr ErRoR it’s gonna be a pain, do something about this)

Gameplay :

  • Daily content. Make dungeon runs like Saalus, 1 per character, 2 times exp and cubes for non-token users, 3 times for token users. Instance token multipliers you say ?
Make it so that 1 token gives you 2x more exp/cubes, and 2 gives you 3x. It’s just an idea.
Bring back good exp on mercenary post missions (Like Siauliai).
Why? Extremely redundant now, very tiring and repetitive, the more chars you have, at least Saalus is 5 min/run. Some could say “It would be even less daily content”, but with the silver nerfs (will be talking about that), you don’t run dungeons except for EXP anymore, and making missions worth again would compensate for it.

  • Auto match. Force-enter the auto-matched people after a delay of 3-5 minutes, even if some people didn’t press it.
Why? Pretty useful and toxic feature at the same time, there will always be that 1 guy who will block queue, and isn’t actually AFK.

  • Dungeons and buffs. I don’t know what to suggest about this one, but people will understand it : 99%.
    Change dungeon 180 and 230. They’re a pain.
Make pardoner and EXP buffs like EXP tomes, so they stop ticking in town. It makes the auto-match queueing actually even more infuriating.
Why? It’s tiring to go back entire maps (especially 180 and 230) for that 1 monster, even with Rader, and see your EXP buffs ticking to your doom. Pretty sure there isn’t need for explanations to why buffs shouldn’t tick in town.

  • Leveling lower characters. Bring more leveling possibilities. Mercenary missions would already help with that.
Why? Getting alts now is pretty painful. It’s not difficult, but it’s very uninteractive and it’s really just going to the best grinding places and legit ignore all dungeons under 270, I’m not asking to get to level 360 in 3 hours (like you could before), but just asking for variety.
Grinding the same spots (Tenet, Dvasia, DP2, Kalejimas) at some point feels very lackluster. 200-230 range is a pain, I think there’s a problem when R5>R7 is more difficult than R8>R9.
I know a lot of people like it, that’s why adding some missions/dungeons for the ones liking it less would be great without preventing anyone from anything.

  • Uphill. Make the chest open themselves, remove basic gem abrasives (what’s the point except giving us a middle finger really?), update its rewards and give us a “Next Wave” button with a maximum of 3 waves at the same time to prevent VGAs.
Why? I love Uphill, but it’s too long, over 20 darn minutes for possibly 2 basic gem abrasives.
Make it permanently as lively as when the Golden Coins event was up by doing this.

Classes :

  • Our favorite : Necromancer. Entirely rework them. Make their summoning like Bokors, or reduce the silver and loots if your main char do not land an attack on the enemy summons attack.
Why? Necromancer is a mistake, but we have to keep their identity which is actually fun when you really play it, but who does that? Making their summon appear like Bokors (which raises the dead actually better than Necromancer) makes it interactive, and you don’t see AFK Bokors, because HP drain and Zombify.
I realised yesterday that there is a guild in Fedimian actually requiring you to have an AFK necro to join them. Pretty sure this should be alarming.

  • Sorcerer. Make C3 relevant, instead of C2 being so full of everything.
Why? Sorcerer’s a pretty fun class, even though the possibility of AFK farming is a thing too, I have no idea how to fix it for them. But class-wise, their C1 and C2 are so good, I wouldn’t know how to adjust them without ruining Sorc2 builds, because I would suggest to move morph or riding to C3 with summon servant.

  • Alchemist. Rework Combustion and Alche missile to something that actually deals damage, same for Homonculus. Remove star restriction on Briquetting.
Why? Alchemists in games are usually pretty unique, and they are in ToS too, but as money-makers. Who doesn’t like some 315-350 weapon sprites and actually like lv15 weapon more? I do, and I’d take that Claymore, Dress Sword or Caliburn sprite over Masinios 2H all day.
They also should be able to melt enemy armors, craft unique magical items, throw beneficial potions to allies and deadly mixtures to enemies, empower their team through unique buffs like Enchanter.
But they’ll just roast your mom gems for 4999.

  • Barbarian. Entire rework. The animations of spells are nice and thematic, we can hear and feel their brutality, but effect-wise, only keep (but still rework) Cleave, Seism and Warcry, introduce dual wielding or axes/heavy axes to them, either itself or by adding some hidden “Viking” class requiring Barb3.
Why? I know Barb’s got an update recently, but it wasn’t what it needed, they were and still are kept as Cleave buffers, the class has no other identity besides that, and I actually played Barb3 Doppel3 up to R9.

  • Cataphracts. Damage buff. I’d suggest a 50 to 75%, hell even 100% more depending on the spell.
Why? I know, we already got Acrobatic Mount, which is really great, but it just makes Cataphract for Lancer like Barbarian is for Doppel with Cleave.

Some justifications on Cataphract

image

This is Earth Wave, right? But it’s level 15. Isn’t there an issue here for a R4-R6 class?
The 50% damage increase on knocked down targets is fake, because you barely ever knockdown targets except with Bash, and it’s not worth it.
It needs a big damage buff.

image

Doom Spike isn’t in such a bad state, but still, its damage is way too off. The critical resistance is now very appreciated, though, but if it remains like this, it’ll always be that cheap cute Dragontooth, shame for such a cool name and animation.
Just buff the damage by 50-75% and/or add an OH.

image

Rush isn’t so terrible, even more with Initiate that buff its damage, but still, it’s just some low tier, longer and more mobile Cyclone, with no OH and pretty big CD (PvP matters I guess).

And yes, with all that, I do take account of the Acrobatic Mount buff, and that’s the problem, the damage is stull underwhelming compared to some other equivalent ranks, or even lower.
I don’t know, they almost just feel cute to me, riding their pet and stuff, instead of a fearless, mobile bastion like lancers.

  • Corsair. Allow them to use 2 swords in each hand.
Why? Archers can, why not SWORDSmen, not like archer can equip and play with every subweapon in the game (end of tilt). Even more when pirate are actually known for their dual sword or sword + pistol wielding.

  • Doppelsoeldner. Rework Double Pay Earn, change hit limit to kill limit, increase number of hits.
Why? As a hunter and mercenary class, they’re pretty lame. The aspect of high risk/high reward is also pretty much gone, you just use DoV and get that tiny 19% damage increase for a 100% uptime 33% increase.
As a farmer class, they’re great fillers, but considering their lore and how their bio is given to new players, they should be the best farming and hunting class. They’re far from it.

  • Bokor. Reduce attribute cost of large and wheelchair zombie. Add an enhance zombie damage like Necro’s skellies, but with only 50 levels because of Ogouveve.
Why? 8m for mostly visual attributes on a rank 3 class. Bokors have 2 times less summons than Sorc2 Necro3 builds, and they actually deal less damage, have a timed life-span even if you heal them, their stats depends on enemies and Zombify is still quite a pain to use. I would like to suggest that when zombies attack an enemy, they “contaminate” it with the zombify debuff (would make sense), but that would encourage AFK Bokors.

  • Hunter. Fix this goddamn AI and make the skills less restrictive, fighting boss or multiple enemies, outside of Growling, is a pain.
Why? Pet AI is a meme at this point, even more when you cast a spell, goes on cooldown and pet just stands here looking at you like “wat u want fam. im pengu no warrior”. For the second part, they don’t have any AoE and spells are heavily restricted on bosses, but Growling is simply amazing, maybe too much.
It can be a very unique and thematic class, please do something.

  • Bullet Marker. Add one or two levels to Double Gun Stance. Still only able to max it to 5.
    – Why? For the sake of Divine Might and gems if there is a DGS+1 gem.

Sorry again that some classes are missing, like Rogue, but I cannot suggest things on classes I know too few about.

Game in general :

  • Silver, RMT and “prevention”. Remove the last dungeon silver nerfs. Directly ban RMTers (Most likely won’t happen, they’re your highest TP income), and remove the trading restrictions (Items becoming untradable if no token, 0 pot, etc…).
    Why?
  1. Silver :
You mentioned silver inflation comes from dungeon incomes. Do you play the game? Do you listen to players? The inflation is coming from full Macromancers making 100 to 300m in 24 hours. You, once again, punish players who actually play the game to get their money, all there is left in dungeons now is Talt and Peta recipes.

  2. RMT :
Some people openly RMT, are known for it, it’s obvious they do, they even boast about it and yet we all know they won’t ever get anything because most of the time, each one of their character is fully clothed in some fancy TP items, to the hairstyle and lenses to the wings and latest gacha costume, let’s also not forget the p2w bracelets.
With the last thread reporting Animation for RMTing that has been seen, I’m hoping to see some changes, because I still saw him roam free yesterday.

  3. Anti-botting prevention :
It’s just a pain, really. RMT still exists without any difficulty, and once again it just ruins honest players’ experience. There’s been that bot in Fedimian sitting next to the market manager for maybe 3 months, using the /!! addon to show the link of the RMT website, and it’s still there.
    Effective.

  • Silver sinks (attributes, enhancements). Cut them down or make it so that the price of those is based on a % of the total silver on your account. Includes storages.
Why? We need money sinks in MMOs, badly, and even more in this game’s plagued economy, but some costs are just ridiculous, as I said earlier for example, Bokor attributes costing 8m for barely no effect.
The people able to afford or throw money into 25m attributes won’t be having any difficulties getting that silver back or won’t even bother at all when they actually have the silver limit on every chat, but what it does is discouraging more casual and middle-ground players into actually playing the game more.
ToS is supposed to be casual, right? My girlfriend is casual, and when she sees on her Warlock that she needs 24m to get stronger spirits on Invocations for a 30% probability, it’s gonna kill any chance that she’s actually gonna do it and will take away her interest in higher content.
Decide yourself, either make an entirely casual game or hardcore.
Not both at the same time, you’re killing casual players once they feel their characters is becoming something good.

  • Enhancement and Potential. Remove potential or at least remove sockets taking away 1 pot, or give us some protective scrolls preventing the weapon to go one grade below, to lose pot or let us pay more silver to increase the % chance, and make them obtainable for free in game (quests, cubes…).
Why? This system is purely toxic. You get that fine, hardworked, deserved or RMTed Masi weapon, you toss some mils to enhance it, aaaaaand it’s crap. You reached +6 and no pot left. What now? Gold anvils? This isn’t a solution. What about the practoniums you invested, mats you farmed and the price of the recipe itself? It’s all just pure frustration, it doesn’t reward anything and it made me want to quit many times.

  • TP Shop value. Give us correct price for medals, and lower medal price for previous costumes that used to cost 128 TP, make hairstyles and lenses tradable through market AND HIGHLIGHT THAT MEDAL COSTUMES HAVE NO AURA.
    – Why? Still talking about this and always will, many people aren’t giving it attention. Since TP shop “rework”, all costume that used to cost 128 TP became 258 medals. Drastic price increase, for no reason.
Exportation fee maybe? This is one of the things that made me think that IMC likes to milk iToS.
Most likely won’t ever happen because people still buy and will be a drama because “I paid this at a higher price, it has no right to go lower”.

  • Mouse targeting. Give it attention and improve it.
Why? It’s unreliable, sometimes it will work fine, other times it will be completely off.

  • Last but not least, content update. Make the patches smaller, but more regular.
Why? Because of something named “hype”, it is ebb and flow. We have nothing new for 3 to 6 months, then we get that huge patch announcement that brings new and old players altogether back and creates crazy amount of hype, just to be consumed in hours, to days, to weeks, and nothing is left, except bitterness and boredom.
Keeping content coming will keep players, will keep activity and there won’t be such a “flood and drought” effect with each big update, we will have objectives, tasks, and we will stop planning our builds or activities to 3 months later because the update won’t be there before.

I think this can be all that I have in mind. Do remember that it is feedback and suggestions, I am no mastermind and all of those suggestions can be improved, the more brains the better.

Over the last year, IMC proved me that they want to improve both iToS and the relation they have with us, many thanks to some STAFF members.
The fact that they are doing it in a good or bad way is different, sometimes both are in action.
If we want their actions to improve, we’ve gotta make suggestions and not just shove their mistakes in the face and throw hate, doing this will simply worsen it, because that’s how you make one feel disgusted about their efforts.

The game is improving, deal with it.
The game still needs to improve, also deal with it.

You think the game’s gonna die? Well, too bad, all games die, go find your next one.
I got a glimmer of hope for iToS, after ranting, complainging and leaving many times.
Let’s not be biased and give it what it takes, time and constructive feedback.

If you went through all that, thanks for your reading and your time.

Added suggestions < Those are suggestions I’ve received, and thought would be good idea to add.

  • Alchemist. Make Awakening give the bonus to everyone in your party and instance, not just 1.

  • Enchant Scrolls. Remove or buff some of the most necessary and infuriating bonuses. (property resistance, accuracy, evasion…) or add an additional line for each reroll instead of a full one, and entirely reroll all lines when another reroll is made with 3 lines.

  • Buffs. Fix the buffs bug, mainly thinking about QS’ Running Shot and Cataphract’s Trot not applying, and still putting the spell in cooldown.

  • Hidden classes. Change the quests, except for Chaplain. They all are annoying and frustrating, and there is no difficulty in them, just pure waste of time, be it for waiting 4 hours for a flower, or praying an altar for 3 hours, these being only ONE part of the quests.

  • Dungeons. Make the remaining enemies (at 99% only) either have their location pinged or eliminated automatically.

  • Lodge. Make a separate category for pets, having 2 free pet slots, and additional ones purchasable like characters for half of the TP.

  • Saalus. Add a “hard mode” for more rewards and no re-enter (to prevent switching to alts), add more maps (Area of Ruins, Halloween 2016, Kivotos’ Compass, Cherry Blossom Heroes event maps), make the cubes in Castle mission disappear once they have been matched.

  • Reporting. Make the “report bot” button a simple “report” button, and when clicked, open an in-game or browser page with a ticket to fill with informations and screenshots.

  • Damage cap. Increase it due to most skills hitting the damage cap and having their potential damage negated at some point, making some gear and skill investment a waste.

  • Blue weapons. Make them cost half the Blessed Gems than orange weapons, it would give access to transcendence to more casual players and make it actually viable even for alts, because currently blue weapons are just way too weak compared to an orange one, even with god-tier stats and with or without 1 stage of trans.

Full suggestion
  • Upgradable gear. Make a customizable path for each gear (or at least the most important ones?), allowing one to modify the stats and appearance of a weapon.

  • Quests. Review some quests, for example Sausys & Co line, they are awful and extremely tilting, you want us to collect so many things with a channel from 1.5 to 3 seconds, with mobs attacking us from range, in huge packs and fast respawns. It’s a horrible design, not even difficult and time consuming. (reminds me of some class quests, strange isn’t it?)

  • Jobs. Actual jobs, now that we can fish, why not cooking, baking, gardening… Many things. It can greatly fit in the lore of the game after Medzio Diena where more people are needed than ever to rebuild what has been destroyed.

  • Accessories. By that, I mean necklace and bracelets, make more of them. The current variety of them is so wrong it’s infuriating, you either stick with low-level 10 patk/matk accessories or you have god-tier necklaces and bracelets that you have to grind 3 months for.
I’m not saying it’s a problem to have such items, but the lack of accessible middle-ground accessories is just a pain in the arse, even the violet recipes are as annoying to make as the orange ones, it’s either 100 or 0.

  • Druid. Give them the possibility to memorize more than 1 form through transform, I often find myself having to swap between 2 or 3 forms regarding on the situation, be it for damage, buff or utility, and it’s annoying to have to run something like 3 or 4 maps for something like a Lapinel.

You just got yourself a fan!

And the zombies infection thing sounds really cool… creepy as hell, but cool. I really like your ideas.

When you say RMT, you’re talking about buying silver for real life money? That sounds dangerous, besides unfair… :face_with_raised_eyebrow: And I agree with you, this people should be banned. I saw a person announcing at SHOUT that they sold Solmiki parts for money… the report button didn’t help, because I can only report bots. It should be possible to just report, maybe describe the reason if needed, so we can report botters, gold sellers, RMTers, scammers, etc.

Of course, this would give IMC a bit more of work, as they would have to investigate each report, but then, they investigate the bot reports too, so…

Past some point I stopped reporting bots and such, I feel like this button never did anything, it’s just here to make you feel like “here, get some frustration out by pressing this button”…

Take out that dumb ass Castle Saalus dung, its boring and annoying

True, nothing actually happened to the bots I used that “feature” on.

annddd the bots have started infesting zeteor coast too lol

It isn’t too bad if you got a team that knows how to do it fast (it’s actually the fastest mission if you’re doing multiple runs with 2 people matching dice-cubes). It’s really nice to have someone in the middle kill bosses as they spawn while people works on spawning them - you finish the whole thing in really few minutes because of good team work and luck.

But the problem lies on the fact that only few people knows to do it properly and instead of being the fastest it turns into the slowest.

I feel it’d be a good idea to rework it to something easier to majority…

Maybe simply show which cube has a certain number so it’s not a guessing game anymore but a “find the cube” game where people can ask and answer the number locations in chat.

Afaik I only got bots banned by reporting them via Tickets or forum… I even thought on “oh, why not make a ticket interface in-game so we can report things faster?”

Truth is, there’s a problem here and they’re not being checked with the in-game command.

Worse than that: actually hunting bots to open browser and fill a proper ticket/post to report a bot takes too long and requires too much effort over time. That’s probably more work than the GMs themselves.

That’s one of the main things that actually annoys me in the game because we can’t compete on farming lower level maps - there’s always some bots and they pop up faster than we can report or GMs bans.

Bots kills the “let me farm low level stuff for profit since no one wants to do that” part of the game and takes out something that would even help with silver distribution/circulation >_<

IMC:Well said, we will pretend not to see

I disagree, it’s usually the fastest one. If someone finds a matching cube, they immediately know the other match. Well, if you play with people that know how the event works that is.

I’d rather get rid of royal mausoleum. Slow event triggers and annoying bosses. That and maybe return the old saalus maps, but with higher difficulty or something.

Mausoleum saalus triggers are really weird, to the point where I’m not even sure anymore if stepping on X tile triggers the part where you could attack cubes or it’s just the map server running on potatoes not knowing you already killed the boss…or killed the boss too fast?

There’s also the case where castle saalus gets bugged several times over (not spawning even if you got it right) then there’s nothing left to match so you just accept the fact that you got imced and have to relog and requeue.

Anyway, now that they nerfed down dungeons, I hope it gets adjusted to one run with x2/x3(token) of the current rewards, I had a similar feedback about this, because right now majority just do dungeons>saalus and quit. Better save that time to do something else I suppose.

Yeah, I guess it happens if you defeat the boss and run away from the area too quickly, but not sure. I haven’t encountered that castle map bug personally though.

Would be cool if they atleast made dungeons have the same amount of entries for token users, but with increased rewards. Kind of like they did with saalus for token users.

Saalus bosses scale horribly. I’d like to see a hard mode Saalus for lvl 330+ characters, but that would certainly kill the queue for lower lvl characters, so I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.

I think it would be cool to put back Area of Ruins and maybe add some old event dungeons as Saalus missions, like the one from 2016 Halloween event, the Kivotos’ Compass event dungeon and the Cherry Blossom Heroes event dungeon. They all had the same time length as the current Saalus missions. There you go, another set of 4 maps that could be used as Saalus missions!

The boss has a certain animation to despawn.

Did you ever try enabling effects and Characters Silhouettes? You can notice how Gazing Golem for example explodes and then its dead yellow-ish body sinks into the ground and then the white silhouette disappear after a really short time.

The trigger is only triggered when the boss completely despawns but some things in ToS only happens if there’s someone nearby (and it’s a good implementation that saves resources when they don’t need to run events if no one is on the screen, it’s like this on most games).

As workaround, stay just a little more in the boss room instead of running away. They could improve the trigger though like allowing it to be run when no characters are nearby or changing the condition to something that happens faster.

Is this really that common? It used to happen only a few times per month to me (doing ~20 characters per day and most of those were castle-fishing for faster runs). It was fixed in future kToS patches (it’s on patch notes).

Team? what’s that?
I call for saalus parties and never find anyone willing to join
If i join random one i get afk bastards (1-2 usually) which makes this dungeon even worse
So i end up soloing saalus and get this shitty castle dungeon like 50% of the time i have to keep trying until i find the other 2
They took 2 nice dungeons out and we got this crap instead, its no fair trade also not all the classes are good for CC

Get a guild or make Saalus group-chats and shout it, lol

There’s a reason IMC doesn’t do what everyone says. I already strongly disagree with a lot of your “constructive feedback”, and if I disagree, there’s a good chance other people do too (potentially including IMC).

Just because you say something should so, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea or should be done. Finally, when they decide not do it, it doesn’t mean they are ignoring you. This is even more true when you just straight up ask for pure buffs to classes when you have subjectively poor understanding of the game’s balance.

Thus, my feedback to IMC is: please do not implement a lot of these things. Thank you.

I’m actually fine with Castle Mission. I used to hate it, but the more you do it, the more you learn its pattern.

It could be interesting to see some more challenging runs that would eventually give more shards or rewards, since lower alts/leechers wouldn’t be able to participate so easily.

Either this, or try to join “carry runs” of some people you can trust. Most people run their saalus daily and can solo it, they only need someone else in the party to stay in the run so it won’t reset and they get shards on their alt, you don’t need to be alpha to get a good amount of shards daily.

Small reminder to some people joining the thread without actually reading as always :

So, if you are indeed smart enough to have actual feedback, give it.
Saying “I disagree k bye” or going full hysteria assuming your own conclusion is totally useless.

Thank you.

My feedback is that I disagree with your opinions. I have no desire to modify and break down your opinions and feedback, especially when you are in control of modifying the opening post you parade as “the message to IMC.” This is not something that anyone should desire as you champion it as the community’s total opinion when it is still ultimately under your control, and nor do I want you to be the one in charge based on what you’ve already posted. You already are arguing with others based on anecdotal evidence of your own inexperience and decisions, being the rigid wall preventing the opening post from changing. It’s already quite clear that you devalue other’s opinions over your own.

Furthermore, demeaning other’s posts and making assumptions based on what they say already shows to me that I have no desire to discuss this with you any further, so my point ultimately remains the same, and you have done nothing to dissuade it.

Feedback: I disagree with most of the “suggestions” too. I also will not breakdown everyone of them because most of them in my opinion have selfish or illogical justifications.

some of these posts are just “”"""“feedback”""""" that isnt actual feedback but people wanting to feel big for addressing them.

Personally I would be with and against for Necro rework: I like their identity right now, but theyre too easily abusable. Bring back beta shoggoth ty
Sorc 3, like Rogue 3 needs some buffing for their later ranks. Theres zero need to go for any since all they do is offer minor boost to their already strong kit. Theres zero situations where you’d actually want Sorc 3 or Rogue 3 in your build unless you like that le ebin backstab 10 or summon dealing 10% more damage wow
I dont know how to fix them. I’ll let someone else decide for me, but this is just my opinion and respect it ty
