Imc - new server lat

Good afternoon , imc if not read this but I hope so.
Thanks for the new server for Latin America but creating doubts arise me .
This server was created with the true purpose of the Brazilian public to take to the server , why? because most Brazilians only speak Portuguese and this generated conflict with those who speak English .
What about this ? you say that is a server for Latin America but in reality it is not, Brazil is the only country in lationamerica of Portuguese speaking . This leads to a conflict also with Spanish -speaking people (90 % of LAT ) .
There will be the chance to open a REAL Server for Latin America ?
Take for example Riot Games had to create a server in Brazil not only by the different talks to other countries but because they with the rest of Latin America have connection problems .

Sorry for my english.

Spanish -speaking people (90 % of LAT ) .

More like 65% actually.

It may be so, but it is also the most populous country in Latin America and the one with most TOS players. Also, they are largely intelligible languages.

This would probably require a large enough playerbase from non-Brazilian Latin Americans in the game. EU and SEA are requesting separate servers as well, but so far they haven’t gotten any promises.

People are speaking spanish in the global chat and nobody cares, all brazillians can understand basic spanish and dont complain if you use it in the global chat

i really dont know what kind of problem you find here

The problem is not between Spanish and Brazilian speakers, the problem is English with Brazilian communities as a whole… And the Fix is to get a Server only for Brazilians and catalogue it as a Latin American server, despite the fact that all latin american countries have problems connecting to Brazilian servers…

Brasil is also part of Latin America, they might be the only country here that speaks portuguese, but there is more than that, they have a really big population on games.

So well, i believe that we will read spanish as much as portuguese in chat. I don’t really care since i don’t use it at all.

But there is one thing that i expect from this server.

DO. NOT. LOCALIZE. IN. MIAMI.

I mean, most servers for brasilians are located on Miami, if the LA server ends up being located in Miami, the difference of ping will be an average of 20-40~.
Which, really, is not enough for the rest of LA. I mean, i’m willing to start over as many times as it takes in order to have a proper latency (less than 100ms).
But if I end up from having 220ms to have 190ms. I won’t really have a reason to give up on NA servers.

I’m writting this while being a little distracted, so, sorry if my english wasn’t good enough this time.

Brazil answers for more than 30% of the latin america, and more than 40% of south america population. If we talk about the gaming community, probably more than 50%.

The BR server from Riot was created before the other SA server, because of high demand. It’s all about business. Many games have BR servers and don’t have other SA servers. If I remember right, Blizzard is an example of this, although I need to confirm (and Blizzard uses exactly the Amazon’s datacenter).

About the location, they said this server was going to stay in the US for THIS beta.

And more than anything else, please, be patient. They don’t even know Chile and Argentina speaks the same language. There’s a HUGE cultural barrier and they are trying their best to accomodate all of us. Also, for this beta most people aren’t changing servers anymore. This is more for people starting now, people creating alts on different servers, and for people from all the world that will play on this server for that extra week.

Most brazilians I know will only change if the client comes in portuguese, or the ping changes. I would even say the first is more important.

Honestly, I’ve been in many games, and I’ve never seen such an abrasive community as this. Yes, Brazilians always had trouble getting along in international games, but it rarely came down to open cursing, racist remarks and also the extreme response from many Brazilian players. I have never had problems ignoring idiots in other games, but it’s getting really hard this time, because both sides are shoving this dumb dispute in your face all the time.

I feel that non-Brazilian Latin Americans are probably kind of lost and feeling a bit invisible in the middle of all this. I hope they will be well received in the new server.
