IMC: It's okay to BOT as long as you're a Sorcerer. / I think it's time to take my leave

Another post from someone that’s giving up on the game? Yes, it is.

To be sincerely, I don’t know how it took too long for me to finally give up, all of my friends that started playing with or after me, around 30, already gave up.
So, I played the iCBT and found the game sort of fun, so I decided to buy the early access, when it started I already saw it wasn’t as fun anymore, and a lot of the bugs from the CBT were still there after all the months they had to fix them, but well, as the game had just opened I thought it would be better to wait some weeks/months, maybe they would fix things and make the game fun again, but after 3-4 months it still really bad, and after the answer I got from one ticket today I think it’s time to move on.

The ticket:

Oh, you’re just giving up because Sorcerer can AFK farm, and the class you choose can’t? Not really, the point is, I consider AFK farm the same as BOT, and if even the company supports it I don’t why I should keep playing.

But that’s not the only reason, the game as a whole.

  • Swordsman tree is totally ■■■■■■ up and IMC doesn’t give a ■■■■;
  • Game drops from 100+ fps to 5 fps when you go to cities or maps with a lot of people;
  • Spawn rate of mobs is awful, something that was a lot better at the CBT;
  • The whole trade restriction, I know it isn’t as bad anymore, but still;
  • Tree of Talt, for real, months doing dungeons to only get talts from it;
  • Every week there are new bugs;
  • and now, IMC supports bots as long as they are Sorcerers.

I probably forgot some stuff, but that’s it, I don’t know if I can say these 3-4 months were fun or not, I haven’t played that much, I would play more now that I’m in vacation, but instead I’m giving up to not lose my time anymore.

Can you not read? Nowhere in that response did they approve of Sorc AFK farming, since Sorc AFK farming requires the use of a third-party application to use SP pots at a set interval to keep the Summon from de-spawning.

So yeah, it’s still against the ToS, just that they’re not going there and banning them for it (GM’s probably don’t know how the Sorc class works and thinks it’s similar to a Pet).

If you still intend to quit, at least pass your stuff onto someone else for them to use as a final act of kindness.

Yeah, he is taking the wrong approach in this situation.
AFK farm with pet classes is not the same thing as boting

But honestly the dinabee sorc situation is pure cancer (and this is coming from a person who also afk farm with a sorc ) they should do something about it like put a high hp caster mob in the field or … hear me out just put random respawns in the map and voilà problem solved.

But as somebody else said in this thread the game got Bigger problems right now but I think this one is an easy fix.

What took you so long? This was announced weeks ago.

I wish there was a “Delete Account & Ban IP” button for all of these scrubs claiming to quit and thinking the public gives a ■■■■ whether they’re here or not.

I only had some ■■■■ worth around 10m, but someone already ask me to give the items to him, and you would need to play on Silute.

Yeah, you keep 5 min away from the game and 1 sec to press a key on your keyboard and it’s not being afk?

Yeah it would be an easy fix exactly as you said. If I were to program a solution for this I would:

  • Start a timer whenever a player is standing in a spot for too long.
  • Record their kill count to see if they are actually killing things while standing in that spot for too long.
  • After a certain number of kills has been achieved do this:
    (1): Spawn a 'cleanup" caster monster that will always spawn several levels above them. Once they are killed, the monster disappears.
    (2): Disconnect them from server.

It will still work regardless of auto-potters but it can be worked around without a bot program by using macroing software. And IMC doesn’t have any algorithm in place to detect things like this. An algorithm would be able to detect repeat movements and actions over a period of time that are determined by testing to be non-human in nature.

With macro software I could have it push a movement key every 3 minutes, 4 minutes or whatever to trick the AFK detection. They could even have random macro keys pressed at random intervals to try to trick algorithm detection. Since IMC already doesn’t ban bots with English dictionary names, if they were reported for botting they wouldn’t get banned anyways.

Macroing to evade AFK detection would be considered a breach of EULA and warrant a ban. If IMC had proper bot detect this would be the perfect solution to AFK farming.

Anyway, a game that had around 50k simultaneous players in the 1st week has now only 10k just some weeks after, and you guys keep saying the game is doing well, who is leaving is wrong, stop complaining, pls, if the game was that well like you guys say, we would still have 50k simultaneous players now, and if you think half of the 10k are bots, so it’s leave the game with only 5k simultaneous players, divided in 5 servers, that’s like 1k player per server, of course the game is going well, and we that are quiting are wrong.

Who in here said the game is in a fine state? We’re talking about how you missed the point and it’s been Afk farming is allowed: Hold Z farming has been, Pet Level farming. Auto potting which a chunk of Sorcerers use to farm there there isn’t, because it’s by a Third Party Program enhancement.

Also gasp, an MMO has people hopping to other games after they've had their fill! I guess the game's ded. This is what we call player Retention, there’s just not much yet to pull you back to the game. You went from trying to make a point to attacking others. Also FYI, check the game right after a maint ends. The bots usually auto log in, so we could usually conclude that there’s roughly ~1k botters auto logging into the game.

I feel as though you know what you want to say, but you’re going at it terribly.

You should’ve just left it at your first post. When you come back to compare the 1st week server population to 3 months later and say half of the playerbase are bots + marking your own post as the Solution, it’s kind of hard to take this seriously anymore.

Can’t compare sorcerers to necromancers, i can leave my shoggoth / skeletons the whole day at tenet and they won’t die, neither spend SP… So I need no bot nor program, i just need to keep my PC on.

No offense to OP, and I hope you find a game you enjoy, but now every time I see these threads this plays in my head:

If ToS ever decides to fix their multitude of problems, “We Are The Champions” should be auto played on their landing page.

Some staff may need to clarify if auto-pot is bannable and he/she actually knows how Sorcerer’s summons work, cuz i also want a official answer about this situation while newly-opened local server is ongoing at my area.:wink:
