IMC gave me WAY too much silver/items - what do I do?

Pretty sure that would happen, given my experiences with support…

Wow, lucky. I admit with that response, I would spend the silver. I haven’t recieved an answer yet, though, so I suspect either my tickets take extra-long again or they are fixing my silver amount. Haven’t logged in today yet - gonna do that now - and see if anything happened there.

EDIT: Just logged out. No change to my silver amount or additional items. Guess they just haven’t gotten to my ticket yet then.

I got a response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We’ll be sure to forward this to our proper department for review and investigation. We appreciate your patience and understanding while they are investigating the matter.
If you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

@Csiko Given that you got a way different response than me, I would say you are really okay to spend that silver maybe?

I, however, appear to be in the same spot I was before… not being able to do anything but wait without knowing what will happen and if something will happen and when… ugggh so agitated…

I’m going to give them more time to sort it out. I understand that it’s a challenge for them to get the right number for a lot of people based on the way they handled this mess, but I have no intention of using the silver gained.

I suspect that they rolled my silver back to a weird time longer ago than this was an issue. I don’t want to be so annoying about it, but they have to understand that a mistake was made and what the mistake was, so that it does not happen again.

Also, it’s important that they prioritize the people that lost items or silver due to what I believe is poor data management. If silver amounts were truly rolled back to an arbitrary time, it explains the reason why some have such a surplus and some have such a deficit. But it could be something totally different. Obviously having excess silver is a minor inconvenience compared to players who lost all the silver they had, or lost very valuable items, but it’s also important that IMC understands that the mistake is one and the same. If I can help them understand what went wrong here, I’d like to.

For those wondering if today’s maintenance fixed my issue after support had been telling me that my silver problem would be “forwarded to the correct department”: Nope. Still having all that silver. Really, really upset at this point.

See if anyone on your sever is missing silver from the maintenance and give it to them via blessed shards. That’s what I decided to do.

Just… make sure the person who claims their missing silver has a screenshot of a very obvious math error, cause I’m sure it’s likely people would lie to get free silver from somebody.
:tired:

They would also photoshop such a screenshot with little effort

Fair point, I dunno. Least worst option.

Maybe a GM could at least verify the claim in some way if someone claimed they lost a bunch.

I have not seen a GM on my server (playing on Klai) in a long, long, long time.

I feel pinging someone here in this thread might yield better results, tbh, but I don’t know any of the staff people and even if I would find out their forum handles from other threads I am still not aware of who is responsible for what and whom would be the correct person to ping.
Anyone know these kind of things and could tell me?

There is also still the issue that SOME of the silver is mine, but I dunno how much. I got 300mil, but I had things on the market which didn’t come back to me. Issue is that I dunno how much of them remained - there were stacks of entry vouchers and the like from the cubes; some of the bunch had been bought prior to the hack and I had only always retrieved the silver, never checked how many were still remaining since they were up for 14 days.

Maybe write some tickets, it will help. Probably.

You should honestly just keep it. You don’t have access to logs or any such things so trying to correct it yourself with other players that may have lost silver will just increase the likelihood of it falling into the wrong hands. If you absolutely feel guilty about it, just spend it on some premium cosmetics that won’t have any impact on game play and can easily be liquidated back into silver if there is ever an issue that comes from it. I’m sure at this point the staff can acknowledge that yours is not a case of abuse but a mistake on their part if the logs really don’t add up with what you end up with in the end.

To give an update: After being told to PM a staff member, I did just that and she was super-helpful. She checked my account and confirmed that I should not have three Shinobi Vouchers, but just one and fixed things for me… but also told me that all the silver is mine and that it’s correct. Which is still impossible, but with even me still insisting in my thank-you PM getting me no correction and having gotten proof in form of PM now that they deem the silver mine, I’ll just keep and spend it once I find something on the market that I want (meaning a good +16 staff). If they fix it until then, that’s fine. If not, I will enjoy a new staff. I really did absolutely everything now to give the silver back and they did look into my account, so yeah… by now, I’m really okay with keeping it as reward for the hassle I went through trying to give it back. It’s still impossible that it’s mine, but heck, I won’t complain anymore.

Don’t do it, it’s a trap. You will get banned for spending what is not rightfully yours.

Heed the words of the Holy Quran Bible.

He who spends what he did not earn will invoke karma beyond their wildest imagination.
