I'm a Doppelsoeldner with no Peltasta. Should I just stop playing?

No need to uninstall. I have friends that didn’t go peltasta and are 280. What you do is very simple:

You are the one that will form a grinding party and will recruit members. They can’t do anything about it since you are the leader after all. Just save up on megaphones.

one point to thrust might be worthy. anymore might be useless. better invested in 3 bash and more into pain barrier. i believe doppels have an attribute that boost movement by small amount when pain barrier is active.

here’s my advice:

Are you a tank build? if the answer is no, then dont get or worry about Peltasia. anyone can grind, be it effeciently or not. But the actual endgame content demands either full tanks or very specific DPS builds for Swordsman and honestly? id just sit at whatever level you’re at and wait for the Swordsman overhauls to come. could be a few months, or a year for that to happen. i have no reason to believe it never will happen.

I’m 279 Sw2-Hop2-Cor3, 50% to 280.
If I had Cyclone and WarCry, I guess I would’ve been happy. Cuz I have no AoE at all.
Tho I would’ve been even more happy If I had Swashbuckling to use it before Cry and Cyclone. I would’ve also probably used 1H + offhand.
Still, your build is pure PvE. If you are ok with it, go with it.
Rank 6 isn’t much - greatest time investment in the game are levels 210-280. So you can still reroll np.

You build is standard 2H doppel, that will actually grow much stronger if we ever get kTOS buff to Cleave. It’s no good in any PvP/GvG without Bokor in a party. Yet again - you managed to actually use it’s thrust dmg as well, which is a rare thing to see. Still, it’s hard to determine whether it’ll stay effective when simple mobs you’ll have to kill will be like 80-130k hp each. But Leather mobs are present at every stage of the game, so I guess it’s a good thing you’re using it.

If you are ok with pure PvE build, I say stick to your build and tell everyone to fk off. You will not be very welcome in parties, true. But do like I did - find a bossing party, earn a couple of tens of millions, do a lot of grinding and get your enhance attributes rly high (70-80, concentrate on Cyclone first and foremost IMO).

Then you can just tell ppl you have 80 Cyclone and can AoE + use WarCry as a soft-taunt + try to gather mobs effectively… That will be enough to find party. Add everyone who accepted you to friends and form parties with ppl that have seen you in action. Use your connections. Eventually, ppl will start asking you to join without you even bothering. Cuz swordsman is still needed for pty exp bonus after all.

I’m interested in viability of Crossguard + different pierce damage past lvl 250. If you ever reach it, drop us a video or smth.

PS. I’d personally do 2 Thrust, 3 Bash, 5 Gungho and 5 Pain Barrier. Cuz amount of attacks on Concentrate is too small even at lvl 5 + it scales badly in dmg formula, so this button is simply not worth pressing both in PvP and PvE, while Gung Ho gives simple ATK and has extended duration. And I guess you know by now that maxed pain barrier is a must.

Still, you’d probably regret not taking pelt at some point.

NEVER do what people expect from you! NEVER!
That dont mean you need to disrespect someone, but do what you like more than what people like to see you doing.
What you told on other words is that people want someone that they can use to help itselfs instead had a mutual help, and after that, they will discard you.
The game gives you cards and missions to help leveling.
Never be trolled about what people want from you, instead, always play with what YOU LIKE, because only based on that you will have the true Enjoyment of the game.

Do u know what FULL DEX SUX, AS DO U?

I am much too lazy to read this whole thread, but if you have gotten that far, which obviously means you’ve gotten parties, why quit? It’s just for Swashbuckling, and maybe Guardian for Evasion, which only matters if you really build for that.

Again, you have gotten that far, why care?

there are some guys that party with non meta chars, there are guys that dont pt with non meta chars.

I agree with this but you will be telling around 90% of the parties you found to fk off though.

that’s the sad true story, international players logic
that’s not happened in kr

And we are sick and tired of people constantly pushing us to go Peltasta (because some people suddenly said Peltasta is a MUST for every swordsman) when some people just want to enjoy wielding 2h swords thats why they’re going Highlander. Mind you going Highlander gives you the 50% crit bonus from skill attribute, which will help a lot if you’re going Doppel2 (since the class specializes in 2h swords). FYI, not all swordsman wants to be meatshields. FCK META AND FCK ELITISTS. They can go fck their own arses

Hey man I agree with you every step of the way. I hate the peltasta meta too but unfortunately that’s just how things are. If they moved swashbuckleing to swordsman I’d be on that in a heartbeat.

I’m only giving the advice of rerolling to have pelt 1 because I, myself, have been through that. I got a level 160 with no pelt 1 and it became almost impossible to get into a premade grinding party. Had to reroll and ■■■■, JUST to get pelt 1 for my swordy. How do you think I feel? Feels like ■■■■ but I’d rather these players that are new to the game get the RIGHT f**ing advice than play till 150 and learn they’re literally building sh*t.

Doppel Main here…

people really want ‘peltastra’ for party grinding, mobbing, and such…

but if you went Doppel and you have DPE (Double-Pay-Earn). all you need is utilize it and you won’t even need those suckers (yep, swashbuckling dependent players) to level your own. Mercenery instance can give you 203m per run, maxing at 6-9m per day (at level 250) using DPE (and some exp tomes)… and for some mobs. you’ll usually get 20-24k EXP per kill in certain maps.

sooner or later people gonna re-roll again because they wasted 1rank going Peltastra.

You can solo-level up til 240 of current server since last quest ends at cranto coast. but in ktos several maps are updated and i assume you can go solo-leveling more around 255 with it.

Hope this info helps.

Pelt isn’t a must for every swordsman.

Nothing is a must for any character.

But if you don’t have pelt you’re just gonna have to accept that you’d have a tough time finding grind party past a certain level because:

1 > Pvp isn’t balanced, so your pvp build means very little atm.
2 > People want easy time leveling, and pelt helps with that more so than a 2h wielding melee dps.
3 > certain circles sux donkey a$$ at pve.

Meta isn’t something that is dictated by the players; its the developers. If they planned things properly, every swordsman circles would have a taunt skill, but they didn’t, even though swordsmen are clearly intended as frontliners.

The meta won’t shift until pvp becomes a thing and taunt skills are added to other swordsman circles, and judging by the way things are going, both aren’t going to happen for a while.
