If i crit often is better crit attack or phys attack?(hair accessory) also red vs yellow gem?

Keep in mind that you’ll barely crit on full CON targets in pvp so… Red gems work much better there. I have no idea what the skill modifiers are for swordies, but in the archer tree only muskets get the best out of yellow gems. Not on all skills though

does red gems gets affected by cards like glass mole, but yellow doesn’t?
how about moves that are like 200% atkpower

Critical Attack is physical damage, but the cards state “Physical Attack” so, probably not?

Someone should really test these things out.

DoV’s bonus comes from the min attack of your p-atk range so main weapon red gem won’t help it.

@seifer0692
Crit chance > 49.47% -> Yellow Gem.
Crit chance < 49,47% -> Red Gem.

For sub weapon, red gem > yellow gem.

P-Defense will never matter in this case due to the millions of ways to reduce p-def.

Even if there were monsters with irreducible p-def and you hit for 1’s, with yellow gems you will still hit 1. Same for red gems if the red gems doesn’t get you over the p-def

It´s a good thread i want to say!

I think red gems count as p.atack.
So glasmole should give the % on it too.
Crit atack gets on top of that(won´t change)

Thats my opinion but i guess tests are better ^^"

0 ~ 310 w/ 8 glass mole = 0 ~ 558

When crit 0 ~ 837.

Average is 418.5 damage.

It has higher max damage, but less average damage. Be lucky and you do better than yellow gem. Be unlucky then oh well.

On a full dex doppel(Highlander Atribut+50% crit dmg) Yellows are better too?

If highlander attribute applies to yellow gem then:

Crit chance > 32.98% -> yellow gem.
Crit chance < 32.98% -> red gem

How did you come to these conclusions?

I’d like a source on this one if you can provide it. I’ve heard this being said but no one has a reliable source on it so I have a feeling it might just be regurgitated misinformation. However upon testing this right now, it is indeed accurate.

Not every class out there has armor breaking abilities and you can’t simply say defense is a non-factor when we don’t know what kind of monstrosities are in the future.

heres my character atm, lil easier to see with actual in-game characters for a rough idea

Average value from red gem divided by the value of yellow gem.

The average damage from yellow gems is directly tied to the crit chance of a player. You can say that 0% crit chance is the same as a yellow gem giving 0 damage, and 100% crit chance is the same as a yellow giving 470 damage

So we need to find the value when the yellow gem is equal to the red gem.

Average Red gem value = X crit chance * yellow gem value

It ends up being: crit chance = average red gem value / yellow gem value

232.5/470 = .4947 which is 49.47%

As well as his next post.

Saying that we don’t know what monstrosities are in the future so that we can’t account for it is the same as saying there will be something that counter’s that said monstrosity.

The end result is that we won’t know until it happens and we cannot take it into account until it does happen. Therefore, my reasoning is that it is not important to think about it for the current game.

if u facing high def mob then pick yellow gem
however if u facing high crit resistance then red one is better
u are not insist high str better again ?

Post your attack, crit attack, class path and I will try to calculate which gem is better for you.

Would be funny to see in some weeks how everyone start complaining about Str being better than full Dex cause both red and Yellow Gems sucks :stuck_out_tongue: More Stat reset Pots IMC!!!

How u reach so 800 crit?

Reilet is this

if your critchance is “more than” 49.47% go Yellow
if your critchance is “less than” 49.47% go Red
**Can you clear these for me?

sorry lol just perception confusion. Usually formulas are written X>Y where X is greater than Y. Hope you know what i mean. Love your maths by the way. THanks

PS: I’m biased towards Red gem lol haha XD that’s why i want to clarify since i have more than 49% critrate hue3x

That is correct. Sorry, I tend to use signs to shorten words for math since I’m in a high math class.

i guess it’s more correct to look at it like this

X = crit chance

  • If X > 49.47%, then choose yellow
  • If X < 49.47%, then choose red.
