IDP Trojan detected directly from Tree of Savior/Steam Folder

Since all AVG/Norton haters are here. I do rather keep things simple.

Anyone out there with AVG or Norton is experiences this problem?

I do not experience problems with norton security with back up.

yup, just add it to exception list

Why do you plebs even run active anti viruses to begin with. I’ve been running without an active anti-virus for years now and I’ve been fine all this time. Only thing I do is run malwarebytes from time to time to see if i messed up.

I’m gonna say something that’s gonna be offensive to a lot of people, but it’s a fact. No one is gonna “attack” and send you viruses you unless you happen to be that one special guy for some special reason, which honestly, you’re probably not. If you get a virus, it’s because you where stupid enough to download/click something that you shouldn’t have downloaded/clicked. As simple as that.

That’s like saying “Why do people say smoking can cause cancer? I’ve smoked for 80 years and i did not get lung cancer”.
Just because you haven’t been affected by viruses it does not mean others won’t be affected by viruses. Just because something doesn’t happen to you it does not mean that it won’t happen to anyone else.

Switch to Avast if you want free anti-virus, because AVG is just terrible. Piece of garbage felt more like an adware than anti-virus because of how frequently it’d tell me to upgrade.

is cloud-based antivirus reliable? Going to uninstall AVG and looking for low resource replacement for my old laptop.

That’s a horrible comparison. That’s like saying “Why do people say killing dogs causes cat supremacy? I’ve been killing dogs for 12 years and I did not get lung cancer.”

If someone gets an actual virus, it’s most likely their own fault.

No, it’s not a horrible comparison.
You should finish reading my post, because in the sentences after what i wrote about smoking i explained what i meant with my analogy.

Also : Who would say killing dogs causes cat supremacy?
And your second sentence does not make sense, first you say connect dog killing with cat supremacy and then you connect dog killing with lung cancer instead. That doesn’t make any sense.

Still, can’t hurt to be sure and have an AV programm running, just in case the unlikely case of not being at fault happens.

Yes it is.

Sorry, I thought I could ignore that part. Let me finish reading your post:

“Just because I’m not stupid doesn’t mean others aren’t stupid.” is what you’re trying to say, right? At least in this whole computer virus thing, right? Doesn’t make your comparison any better.

Detecting sarcasm isn’t your strongest point is it?

Oh sure! I advise most of my family and friends who are inexperienced with the interwebs to run one.

^This  same with me too

for those too dense to know or are too busy fighting like small kids…

Adload_r is a malicious application that allows hackers to remotely
access your computer system letting them modify files, steal personal
information and install more unwanted software. These kinds of threats,
called Trojan horse,
must be sent to you by someone or carried by another program. They may
also arrive thanks to unwanted downloads on infected websites or
installed with online games or other internet-driven applications.

as for if false positive or not…

@STAFF_Ines @STAFF_John @STAFF_Ethan could the staff investigate this?_?

No. Absolutely not, you got it all wrong.

Sarcasm in written text is harder to detect, especially if you don’t know the person, so considering i don’t know you you meaning your post with the dog cat lung cancer serious was quite a possibility.

It’s a bad comparison, but otaku’s counter example was not good.

Otaku was saying that you shouldn’t be stupid enough to download/click on something you shouldn’t (aka; you shouldn’t smoke), that way you have no risk of virus (lung cancer).

So to accurately do your comparison, it would be:

“Why do people say smoking can cause cancer? I’ve avoided smoking for 80 years and I did not get lung cancer.”

Which… does not prove that not running an antivirus is bad…
(And of course, is still a bad comparison because it doesn’t account for second hand smoking, genetics or other carcinogenic things that can give a non-smoker lung cancer.)

Ontopic; probably just whitelist it. Likely a false-positive.

Not quite. Spam mails often contain viruses, of course you can just not open their attachments.
But you still can get malware via security holes from Java and Flash and it can be hard to prevent that unless you set them up so that they only execute after confirmation. Flash usually closes security holes fairly fast so if you stay updated you are usually safe. Java however can be a real problem, though you can just uninstall it really. =p

Yes, i do too. AVG deleted my ToS Client because of Trojan and AdWare being detected.

Why the heck people use more than 1 AV? Its dumb and cause problems, not to say that make the machine slower due to all the scanning activity.

Keep this BS out of your system, do you access too many porn sites that you have to use 2 condoms?

I use the built-in WinDefender and i am fine so far, i know where to go in the interweebz, not gonna say i don’t access porn sites lol, but i at least pay attention on what the site is trying to install, and i never install any ■■■■ on my browser except from the chrome add site and only what i need (which is just 3 or 4 addons).

Aw i’m suffering the same issue XD

YOU!!! OP!!! YOU Extracted a Zip File name ““ADD ONS”” in your TOS folder, then you didn’t now that there are trojans inside the zip too…

Just a theory…

People are talking about the ToS_Client.exe… Not some lua files.
