Ideas for Monk improvement!

a slight improvement would be good, but in rank 9 without monk new class. its too horrible. Kabbalist is fine pvp-class. Sadhu needs improvements :stuck_out_tongue: Need a new monk class that is pvp and pve XD most of the damage is coming from Inquisitor

For Quality-of-Life purposes, please make it so that one can hold down the Double Punch skill instead of spamming it.

u know, its pointless a dps class like monk to have 2 taunts… These skills is to be used when ur in a risky situation, at least golden bell shield is. The new changes to GBS ll make the skill good, low cd and low duration.

i think improvement need to focus on what is wrong with current monk skill…

by changing monk skill mechanic does not simply make it better but if we look at the practicability most monk build mostly will max dp, 1 inch punch and eb (my most favorite skill) other monk skill such as palm strike, hand knife, iron skin and gbs (rarely use it coz not very good with high dex build monk). although with new changes such as palm strike damage increase attribute by enemy armor does not get my interest. As far as i can see what useful and good about palm strike and hand knife are their bleeding attribute and armor break attribute and this attribute imo if it scale/enhance well with skill level it will be much worthy skill to be invested.

imo reducing skill cd it much better than changing the skill mechanic.
such as reducing palm strike and hand knife cd to 9 sec this will help monk to have more skill rotation and not just spamming dp all the way.

And as for dp better improve the damage scaling and not just make it more faster to make it more relevant in rank 7 map and above.

as for gbs please make it it as buff similar to mob that have gbs … it seem very weird when facing mob that have gbs as buff but you have gbs as channeling skill. the skill is not that op as it only block magic and ranged damage for 8 sec and having 3 minute cd make it less favorable in pve build but much favorable in pvp build and other cc still can affect monk such knock down , sleep …etc. for me by changing it to buff skill with long cd make it worthy.

lastly god flick … pleas make it simillar with 1 inch pucnh skill coz having delay 3-5 sec after casting god flick really frustrating.

my impression on monk is a class that have continuous skill combo until mana or stamina drained out. not laggy skill rotation therefore any channeling skill defeat the purpose of being a monk as dps class.

My ideas of Tank/DPS Monk if IMC likes it :smiley: I don’t think IMC ever says Monk those skill is used when your in risky situation :P. The New GBS is good, just the usage is increased by a lot.

indeed… how can ausrine lasts 18secs (which can be obtained for another 18sec - since the statue lasts 30s) with an effective cooldown of 60s (90s-30s = 60s) … whilst being able to move around freely while attacking and using skills

compared to GBS which lasts 8secs with 180s cooldown whilst being UNABLE to do anything…

They could made a GBS into a buff and can move around. buff last for 30s and can also cancel it by using the skill again :stuck_out_tongue: but u cannot attack and you could still protect your party members

If I have to guess, dev might only directly improve some monk skill (probably golden bell shield), while booking all indirectly improvement with the next natural advancement of monk.

Let’s say the name of next class is Lama, it might work like this. When you kill one monster, you gain one spiritual ball floating around you (via class attribute, have some duration and maximum stack). You can keep those balls to improve damage and cooldown for some of your monk skills, or use it to amplify damage for energy blast or some Lama’s skills.

You can add a buff skill with attributes for Laima or wtv class that has synergy with Monk like how you did with Peltasta/Hoplite/Rodelero and Murmillo

yo haru any news about lama class? i rarely play right now … hoping that lama class would be enhancing monk class or it can a totally different synergy with monk like inquisitors and taoist …:sweat_smile:

if only imc would take class synergy as a serious matter :sob:

any idea what imc impression about monk? tried lurking around to find but got nothing…

  • Rework Iron skin, it’s ridiculous enough that monsters can use monk skills better than monks themselves

  • Give an attribute or two to existing skills make taking Monk C2+ worth taking.

  • Shorten Energy Blast cooldown and damage tick per time passed

  • Make One-Inch Punch Silence attribute duration be as long as its bleed, +9 second cooldown for 5 seconds of silence on an extremely short range skill with half decent damage seems sad.

  • Maybe rework God Finger Flick, not that urgent to rework it though.

  • Please remove the cooldown increase in Golden Bell Shield safety zone attribute.

  • Monks are sustained “damage dealers” (Monk dps, lels) with bad burst damage (one can do comparatively more DPS with Double Punch than with Energy Blast), might want to fix that bad burst damage with skill changes or/and class synergies (like paladin/inquisitor, diev/miko etc).
