Well that could already be set in stone but anyways. We shouldn’t forget that a successful game is not determined by gameplay but by the money it prints (which one can only hope to go hand in hand).
I am an active Dota player spending at least 10 to 20$ each month for that game without getting anything playwise. Sometimes it is even pay to lose but this system works so good it’s scary.
As I started the beta at some points I felt ToS might go in the same direction. The signs were there but it could also have been my imagination. Things that could be done (at least I wish).
- First off, no P2W! Do not touch gameplay with money that can kill a game if it hits the wrong nerves.
- Cosmetics. IMC could sell different hats or class costumes (skins) for real money. The possibilities are there. With all the classes we have and new classes to come there is enough space to monetize.
- Customizable lodges with a mix of ingame buyable/drops/unlocks and real money stuff.
- Pets. Obvious one, shouldn’t be better than regular pets.
And: ToS is on steam. IMC can use the market and sell skin/custom packs as DLC (maybe even seasonal stuff) and promote these alongside the game on steam sales.
Would make a great game. No money touches gameplay but appearance, which has proven itself to work really good.
//Edit: Forgot to mention. Please no clown fiesta, decent but beautiful hats please.
