I want to make a solo-friendly cleric - How should I build it?

Hello!

So, I play a 53 Hoplite, but I wanted to make a cleric alt that is survivable yet effective .

Are there any guides or advice regarding what class-combinations I should take leveling to 55/60?

I’m basically looking for the classes and skills I should pick, along with the particular stat allocation I should shoot for.

Your assistance is most welcome! I’m confused by everyone saying Monk or Paladin, as that seems so far away… so I was hoping I could figure out a mid-term goal along the way.

You could try Cleric-Priest-Priest with full dex.
Sacrament+blessing is flat out amazing.
Just drop Safety zone under the boss and auto all your worries away.

Alternatively, Something like full int cleric-Kilvis-Cleric-Sadhu for some magic-based shenanigans.

Clerics are probably one of the best solo classes since they have amazing sustain because of heal. I never even once sat down to regenerate, not even for SP, though I have popped some SP potions in longer boss battles/densely populated grinding areas.

you can check this thread for some insight regarding stat distribution and Class routes:

I’d recommend a melee Priest with mostly DEX/STR 4/1 or maybe STR/DEX 2/1.5 (100%/75%). Get Blessing + Sacrament and you are pretty much good to go.

Full dext and the +4 Aoe Mace.

Because for clerics It’s usually just better to work backwards due to how limited interactions are between builds.
Spellcaster builds tend to want druid, melee builds tend to want paladin3 or monk2. etc etc.

Physical damage based:

  • Cleric, Priest2, Paladin3. Sadly other paladin builds cannot compete with priest 2 atm due to restoration improving the priests healing and blessing/sacrament being of great help with your auto attacks. Incredibly durable, but low ish dmg. Best as dex/str hybrids imo.

  • Cleric, Priest2, Krivis, Monk2. One of the better monk builds atm. Has some decent competition though from a large variant of monk builds. (usually priest2, anything or krivis1/krivis3). Statwise tend to be str/dex hybrids, pure spr or spr/str hybrids. But only use spr if you have zalciai and monstrance imo.

  • Cleric, Bokor3, Priest2. Bit of a odd build for using the “zombie train” skill. Dex/Str hybrid all the way. Not sure if it’s viable enough for higher levels yet. So be warned. Not entirely sure about the class selection tbh.

Int based spellcasters:

  • Cleric, Krivis2, Bokor2, Druid. // Cleric, Krivis2, Dievdirby2, Druid // Cleric, Krivis2, Sadhu2, Druid. // Generic spellcaster variants that try and utlize the most out of their spells. Krivis3/dievdirby3 are tempting but mean you lose out on damage spells of other classes. As such i won’t recommend them.

  • Cleric2, Krivis2, Sadhu, Druid. // Cleric, Bokor2, Sadhu2, Druid. // Cleric2, Bokor2, Sadhu, Druid // All similarly full defensive options to try and utilize out of body to full effect. Leveling can be annoying till you get your combinations together. Full int.

Otherwise you’ll end up with spirit/support builds. Who do not meet your criteria of leveling easy so i’ll ignore them.

For the Paladin or monk builds, do I aim to use a particular armor type? Like, do I throw in silver to get attributes towards a particular armor mastery?

Also… Any recommended attributes I should pick up while leveling a Paladin or Monk build?

Can’t go wrong with plate or cloth armors. Plate offers health/defense where as cloth offers magic res.

Attributes wise:

  • Don’t bother with heal: creating extra. It extends the cool down of heal.
  • If you go part priest grab the +damage attributes for blessing asap.
  • If you go priest2 put 2 skill levels in resurrection for the revive attribute.
  • If you go krivis then get the + crit dmg zalciai attribute asap.
  • If you go paladin then get the smite attributes and restoration sp attribute asap. (latter helps party members a lot)
  • If you go monk2 then get the hand knife armor break attribute. And max double punch asap.

Otherwise it’s pretty straight forward, you can disable attributes with downsides so you can’t really screw up anyway.

Pure Str cleric is really strong and very easy to level
c1 cleric c3 priest c2 monk
Dex is also strong but you’ll have to invest in gear, but I prefer str because lets be honest Cleric branch does not have a problem with survivability.
Also, since you’re pure str and you’ll mainly be doing auto attack sp will never be a problem, so say goodbye to hp and mp pot use.

Only downside is that compared to other classes you won’t have active attack skills for a very long time (until monk)
but in return you get awesome buffs like auto-life, blessing, sacrament, stone skin and amazing heals.

For my part i went cleric c3, for a Fade 10/ Safety 15 on Sadhu. If you plan for this masochist way, better invest in the cure attributes; With full int and a decent equip, bosses should be down in 5-6 lv15 cures. One point is, DON’T use Fade against bosses or event mobs: they will heal back ;-;
