I predict an announcement of iToS dropping F2P within a week and a half

You’re the exact person a game company shouldn’t listen to. The type of person, the elitist who thinks because they can throw tons of money that everything should be going their way. You disregard the future of the game, you only care about your own experience.

I can turn that crap right back on you, elitist.

Right. You’re the one they should listen to. The guy who, in multiple threads, has overtly admitted that he doesn’t want to pay for the game because he doesn’t think it’s good enough to merit payment, but still believes he deserves to play the game that isn’t quite good enough for him.

That, and the fact that you flat out admitted to me that you haven’t even checked up on the bot situation before launching into a huge tirade of unjustified claims spells out, in clear letters, “I AM TOO DUMB TO MERIT FURTHER CONVERSATION!” So.

Edit this was supposed to reply to dawnintodark…

I will say today i logged in and there was no spam in town. I wasnt able to play alot, but the zone i cleared had 0 bots. I also saw a post from someone congratulation them because there werent any bots. Not to say they are gone, but its getting better.

Also i agree with ridleyco and i dont think you know what youre talking about. Bots are a war, not a battle and cant be gone with just one change. I cant believe you think bots wont be worse once its opens to F2P.

After it was announced in the forums, they made a change the next day.

Did you even look at the example I gave you, buddy ? As I said give me an example to support your argument or at least shut me up.If you are really think a “wall” can keep your problems away, you are truly american, sparky.

Better me then you, really neither of us should be listened to because we’re both making selfish requests. However my requests also look out toward the future of the game those that like to get ‘hooked into’ spending into a cash shop, not forced. By going B2P they’ll be discluding a huge audience they could of possibly got money out of on enchanting/cute costumes, etc.

Oh yeah not to mention how hard they’ll get hit for going 'nevermind we’re going buy2play!" when they promised and swore to free to play… which Black Desert did not do, as they stated from the start they were going buy2play.

I looked at it, and it was so irrelevant that it was painfully clear you hadn’t actually read the thread enough to figure out what I was even talking about. I’ve already explained myself three or four different ways to three or four different fools. You’re not going to be my #5.

I applaud them on that but the exploit was known for awhile, there were other sources talking about it. It was probably reported to them and it took them THAT long to deal with it. That really doesn’t speak well. :frowning:

Bots are going to be about as bad as they are now, maybe SLIGHTLY worse. Why would they overload and kill a game they’re trying to make a profit off of? You people treat botters like hackers, hackers usually want to ruin a game whereas a RMT wants to profit off a popular game.

Ok so you dont really know and are just making stuff up. got it.

I guess you dont understand what RMT and farming bots does to the economy. Maybe you should look it up because i dont feel like explaining it to you. It affects the legit players and it affects the company. They dont give a ■■■■ about the game or how they affect players and only want money.

honesty,I read your main posts again and all your replies, and all you did was “Hurr durr I’m right, you are wrong, read my posts again, sparky.”
Every other person gives and example to refute your main argument, yet you have come up with no counter argument, only insult.I assume you are either troll, uneducated or not so bright person.

I’m starting to wonder if dawn IS a botter, actually. Would explain a lot.

That’s unfair of me, of course. Ad hominem etc etc.

Just gonna mention two things, don’t want to get into the argument…

1: Wasn’t the exploit a problem on Steam’s end, not ToS’?

2: F2P games tend to make more money with a cash shop, but maybe in some cases it’s better for a company to go a B2P route with cheaper cash shop items rather than full F2P. It all comes down to planning for the future, and if F2P is going to involve hordes of bots, maybe B2P is the better path to take.

No… If you go off what other players have said on these SAME forums they’ve specified that on the reddit and other sources this exploit has been known for a little while. Much longer then it took for them to figure out it out and do something.

Oh no I know RMTs don’t give a crap about a game but they want to keep the game as a way for profit not waste their resources, if they overload and take over the game with nothing but bots they’re not selling anything and in fact hurting legit players more then their usual way. Am I defending them? No.

They’re out to make a profit they don’t care what they do to the economy and anyone who knows decently about RMT knows that. However they’re not going to go out of their way to destroy a game they know they can make a profit off of. Again, they’re not with the mindset of a hacker. They care only about profit but they care enough that they have the common sense to know what a game can handle. (which is why all the bots weren’t ever in the exact same map and channel, they were spread out for better farming + less lag cause of poor net code)

Something that IMC doesnt have.

They didn’t have the Monado’s power to see the future.

(btw, cute display picture. Love Spice & Wolf)

Didnt you guys wanted in the 1st place to open the server for F2P players very fast? Whats this? What happened? AFAIK majority bashed IMC decision to sort out the bots in 3 months before opening it to free players. Dont go me started checking each one of your posts history.

I certainly didn’t ask for that. I was against an early release.

Even with a 15-20 dollar fee per month, I would still play this game.

Right now they have to jump through some hoops to get their bots in after they are banned. When it goes F2P all the hoops are gone and they get unlimited access. This will bring their prices down since they have less of a cut in their profits. This will tempt more people to buy and that will give them even more incentive to be here. This is why people are suggesting B2P.

They are doing this right now. People make the whole steam review complaint so ill do the same. Do you see how many steam reviews are negative because of the bots? I know the biggest issue i have with this game has to do with the bots.

You think the RMT say, “hmm we are really affecting the economy right now and hurting the game. Maybe we should cut our bots in half for a while so we dont kill it” Sorry i dont buy it.

@jynxie10 you can go ahead and check mine.

Bots were reported half a year ago during iCBT2. Nothing has been done.

Not really no, the hoops are what exactly? A measily $30 fee when a lot of these companies are notorious for using stolen credit cards?

Before we go on, let me get one thing straight before we go further.

The reason I’m so against B2P is because of models like Black Desert which still has a fully functioning cash shop that has items in it that cost as much as the actual purchase of the game. If you mean a lighter b2p model where the TP shop would become extremely reasonable and the cost of costumes and hairs would be cut… then I’ll end the argument here as I’m not against that by any means.

As for the RMT, no they’d say something like. “This game’s dead, let’s not bother anymore.” The negative reviews are because of issues that aren’t just bot related, poor netcode, spawns, etc… Need I remind you of the lack of hack defense too.
