I just came to a sad realization about this game

So me and my crew really liked Ragnarok and waited for T.O.S for a long time, even played the beta and played some of the game during launch and a bit after launch and just abruptly quit. We could not think of why we weren’t having as much fun with this game, i mean the combat being real time is much cooler, its open world, skills look way better than ragnarok, ect. Then today we finally out of the blue recognized the simple reasons why we dont play it,

  1. The quest: Ragnarok and a few other games were truly open world in the sense that you really didnt have to do the quest to feel like your progressing, you had to find the quest manually which just idk felt so cool randomly seeing an npc and figuring out their storyline and it unlocking some new area or giving some lore vs T.O.S were its just point go, point go, point go.

  2. The Exp: I dont mind grinding and this kinda falls back into quest but it feels like questing is the only away at least to low to mid levels to get exp, it just feels like a waste of artwork and maps to have no reason to come back to an area

  3. Lastly the mob difficulty, i mean seriously were did it go, i felt like ragnarok fights were a fight for my life a good 70% of the time, the lack of difficulty means lack of need of a party, which is a lack of communication, which is … well… boring.

Anyway i dont wanna discourage anyone who loves the game to from playing it, its just really saddening cuz i REALLY wanna like this game.

P.S : I know i compare it to ragnarok alot and ppl will say its not ragnarok

The five player party limit pisses me off, it means you have to choose and pick your friends and guildies to form a very small group instead of everyone just partying together.

You don’t have to quest at all, pretty much at any point any more, to get to the level cap. You could grind all the way there and most people do now. The exp is a lot better than it used to be.

Mob difficulty gets incredibly stupid hard later in the game when the melee mobs start to be replaced by archers and mages and elites pop up. The elites are pretty much like Diablo elites with special abilities that completely screw you over if you don’t carry around dispeller scrolls and/or are already surrounded by mobs. =

Tos player always go into solo mode, when they was done they just tp put, that is the thing I hate the most about this game. And all the whales, rich peoples show off how rich they are buy wasting their megaphone with some sh!t weebs meme.

as far as #3 goes, Hunting Grounds are good maps for party play, your average player cant solo those maps efficently.

and while ToS have some similarities to RO, people need to stop comparing the 2, judge it for what it is, not what you want it to be.

Lol, questing in 2017. You need to do literally 0 quest to reach 330

I am judging it for what it is, comparisons are just easier ways to show where im coming from vs not giving a point of reference

It’s not about the level, it’s about all the adventure and the lore.

It’s good game under not really good company.

330 in twenty five minutes 32 seconds, don’t be cheap lad, go get some of those juicy vouchers, multipliers, dungeon resets, and the truth shall be revealed. You don’t even imagine, just stand there and watch.

i would like to see some prove to this claim please.

Then go back and play ragnarok, you compare tos to ragnarok because simply you want to play ragnarok.

go ham  point and click style ! ! !

Boring people suggested boring suggestions. Just play TOS whenever you feel like sleeping early. Youll fall asleep very fast.

So wrong, not surprised that you dislike the game, when you’re horribly bad at ToS.

I have to agree with you on all accounts. That said, hopefully the developers come to this realization before much longer.

Artistically the game is quite beautiful. However, there is very little substance or difficulty to accompany that beauty. Aside from the class system there’s nothing particularly unique or extraordinary about the game’s design thus far making it more of a gimmick.

Personally, I feel the game was heading in the right direction up until about the time it released. I can only imagine there was something along the lines of a change in project management and vision or funding. Unfortunate…

Sad party about skipping quests thopugh is that you will miss out on certain bonuses such as stat points.

Other quests are erquired to be compelted to be able to complete class quests too, namely hidden class quests
