I hate buffing. Maybe that's just me

I fodendo hate using buffs.

To buff and power up the group is the function of the support roles, if I’m playing archer, knight or even wizzard, I don’t want to have to buff every 10s, it sucks.

Now I remember the early days of Ragnarok Online, no buffs for archers, no buffs for wizzards, no buffs for rogues, no buffs for knights, maybe one or two for assassin. Thats probably one of the reasons I liked it so much.

But maybe having short duration buffs in nearly every class is a trend in MMORPGs and the way to go to have success, but foda-se that Dilma, I still hate it.

Thats it, I was just venting my frustration, thanks for reading.

I play a Cleric C2 > Priest C3 > Chaplain > PD2

I’ve to cast every minute:

Divine Might, Blessing, Aspergillum, Healing Factor, Bloodletting (if needed)

And every 2-4 minutes:

Sacrament, Last Rites, Revive

I somehow got used to it, but it does get tiring after a while I agree, would like for those buffs to atleast last a bare minimum of 10 minutes except for maybe Healing Factor/Bloodletting since that would be kinda broken but the others would be helpful

I too hate the short duration of most buffs in this game, but got used to it after awhile. I think an improvement would be to at least allow us to keep moving when buffing, not forcing us to stand in place.

I can get on this train. I agree.

There is nothing enjoyable about awkwardly stopping combat to initiate buffs frequently. It’s not fun, and the focus should be fun. Startup to attacks/skills can be used to force players to use skills carefully as opposed to awkwardly forcing them to stand stationary for a buff. A big swing of a sword taking a little time to lean back before the swing does the job of making a player vulnerable, without forcing something on the player that isn’t fun.

It might be too late to do much about this however. But, it’s a worthwhile criticism. Dedicated support classes should be the classes doing this kind of thing.

I think World of Warcraft had it nailed at some point in the timeline, buffs generally lasted an hour, cool procs lasted any time between 3 - 30 seconds and came off of your attacks naturally on a chance or procs per minute.

I think what think game lacks a lot of is passive proc chance effects that happen when you are fighting or proc off of an hour long buff (but only last 3-30 seconds) when you are fighting.

The point is you can have loads of nice short duration effects that go off that are powerful but balanced, but you should not have to necessarily cast them every few seconds, they should just happen

The few examples we have here are debuffs like the flame DoT on fireball has a chance to happen, if it had a lot of buffs for players that proc though they would all need to be second row buffs that’s for sure

They could remove , merge or change many active skill to passive skill and increase duration on buff.

In future we will get Rank 9,10,11…it come with many skill you don’t have time to use or no skill slot left.
