Because the gold sellers make their profit on selling game currency. If the ability to trade currency with other players is nonexistent, then they would have to resort to the trading of items only, which is nowhere near as profitable or reliable.
But you see, you can still do that through the market; by your logic they should just disable the marketplace so then they wonāt have any method to do trading at all.
I still stand by the suggestion to just not allow the trading of game currency, while allowing the free trade of items.
There is no guarantee that the player buying an item from a goldseller could resell the item they bought for loads of in game cash, especially if the market is constantly changing, as is the usual with player driven economies.
The point you are not getting is this: Goldseller cannot give player game money because game money not tradeable.
That doesnāt effect the marketplace at all.
No, I was saying they can still do it through the marketplace?
My suggestion was either remove the marketplace completely as that will remove all sources of silver trading
An example of a such thing being done was in diable 3
Or get rid of the 48 hour limitation on the marketplace.
OK. I doubt they will do it though because then the bots will be free to sell as many items as they want, defeating the purpose of the restrictions. This would also affect the economy because they will flood the game with rare items. Which is bad imo.
Not to mention there will be bots all over the place that drop rare items reducing the chance actual players get them.
Yes, there are bots now, but cant give up.
The 48 hour restriction should be removed, yes. As for the goldsellers, it would do them no good to pile up their silver if they canāt trade it to players. It just sits on their account. While it could make item selling a little easier than relying on RNG from farming, it still keeps them from trading directly in silver.
My suggestion likely wouldnāt stop goldsellers from being active 100%, but it would cripple how they do their dealings and give other players the ability to freely trade items between friends without tokens.
I donāt think there is a way to stop the gold sellers outright. I would be happy with the ability to trade items between friends freely, however.
Nope I am keeping mine negative until they fixed the whole trading system in this game, right now it really bad. But I will let my review say the server performs a little bit better now. There are still many issues with this game currently, just cannot recommend it to another person yet.
The day I give a positive rating is either when they have allowed players to at least trade items like in any other good mmorpg or at least implement a practical and functional party loot distribution system so my gf and I can actually help each other get the items we need to each other. Also as an alchemist I would really love to be able to make items for both of us but this is impossible without being able to tradeā¦ Very very frustrating gameplay thus farā¦
EDIT: Also, I would agree with all these silver seller preventive measures if perhaps I noticed they were entirely eliminated and not a persisting issue in this gameā¦ but they very much are, even after all these measures are takenā¦so just let us players trade for the love of all that is holy, pleaseā¦
The reason for the 48 hour money retrieval from the AH is to stop players from flipping items, and controlling the entire market.
How would they sell them in this scenario if only items, not money, could be traded?
With a flip of switch all bots were removed instantlyā¦ Itās been a week since releaseā¦ We havent even seen the full force of botters/RMTers yet. Thatll come at the end of this month. Let them research/collect data now, maybe itll help later, maybe it wont, but at least they can say the tried. Ive never seen any MMO dev attempt what they are donig here, UNTIL later in the games life cycle when it was too late.
Yes, I understand this and hope all this suffering we are going through in the early access will not be in vain. This game has such promise if in the end all these issues are indeed remedied. I suppose all I can do for now is hope one day all of this will lead to a more polished and enjoyable ToS in the end for all of us.
Yes, Im not looking at it like its a gaurantee. I also do hope they figure it out, maybe itll be a victory for all the industry if they do.
But people have to give them a little more time.
Anyways, there is other ways to sell gold. Theyve been around for ages now. I hate going into detail, but its quite simply by selling accounts.
well idkā¦ if the current trade system prevented gold sellerā¦ why so many gold seller spam?
Yes, precisely, this is what I have been getting at. I have been able to tolerate anything in a game though (even p2w) as long as I could trade. And gold sellers will indeed always find a way, but at least they made it so they arenāt dropping framerates with that darn megaphone spamming. We just desperately want to be able to trade, wouldnāt matter if we couldnāt trade money, just want to help each other with items at least. T_T
And I totally agree itd be really nice and convenient and help build a cooperative community if we could trade, to help lowbies gear up, help friends, and guildies.
exactly i donāt care if itās to prevent gold sellers, Iād rather be able to trade and market freely without the 48h restriction
Not yet. Indeed last (and first) patch was a step forward, but personally I feel that there are still lots of issues that need to be addressed.
I agree with this or at least between guild members if not between friends.
