Tree of Savior Forum

I can't take this anymore.. (tree of savior queue system)

Possible Alternatives:

  • Add a 50% (or even greater) EXP bonus to non-queue parties.
  • Add an EXP bonus/50% EXP bonus for having someone on your Friend’s List in your non-queue party (would not stack with more friends or queue).
  • Allow the person(s) in queue to see who/which classes the queue is currently attempting to pair them with.
  • When a queue’s roster is complete, give each member the opportunity to view the members/classes of the newly formed party as well as the opportunity to withdraw from said party before physically entering the dungeon/using up their entry.
  • Create a “Dungeon Lobby” area (specific for each dungeon/mission area) where people from different servers can interact and from there form their own parties (with a 50% EXP bonus) and enter that specific dungeon.
  • Allow players who are in the same local party to enter the queue together as a group if they have less than 5 members.
  • Instead of the 50% EXP bonus for queued parties, give them a large stat point and/or damage reduction and sp/hp regen bonus, to buffer the lack of party composition planning.

Any one of these (or multiple ones together) would be a fast improvement to/over the current system.

As it stands, the current system is highly inconvenient at best. I’m actually quite shocked that such a disorganized system even got the green light to be added to such party-oriented MMO. Dungeons/Missions are clearly much more difficult than standard play/questing (at least pre200 for sure) and were meant to be partied, yet the game essentially strongarms the playerbase into attempting them with a party composition that has ZERO thought behind it. You may queue and not even get a healer. You may queue and get 4 full support healers (this has happened to me more than once since my main is a full support cleric); You have no idea what’s going to happen, nearly no control over what can happen, and if you choose not to simply “deal with it” the penalties are either incredibly steep (you forfeit that entry) or very steep (you lose the 50% EXP bonus because you made your own party; the equivalent of losing half a run’s worth of EXP each clear).

The amount of “good” coming from this system can’t possibly compare to not only the amount of frustration it causes, but also the vast amount of ineptitude it is [and will continue to] breed. For an MMO like this, being able to structure your own groups and test different strategies/compositions that you come up with to tackle dungeons is absolutely vital for the health/growth of the game and it’s community. Talking to and building connections with players you find interesting before and after the run (because the party’s existence wouldn’t be limited to the active dungeoning period only) so that you gain insight is pivotal as well. The current queue system greatly inhibits/discourages all of these important aspects of gameplay…

Also, I know in this day and age there are lots of players worried about class discrimination and “elitism” when it comes to a world without queue, but in the same way that’s exactly why you don’t truly need to be concerned (especially not for leveling dungeons); there are clearly a number of like-minded/similar-minded people who either fully welcome any-and-all, or simply aren’t so rigid that they can only tolerate the best of the best.

I think when it comes down to it, all of us want the option of at least being able to secure a healer for our party without facing severe penalties (and if not that, then to at least be able to structure agreement with everyone in the group beforehand to bring hp potions; that also isn’t possible with the current queue system).

Please, please, PLEASE make a change to the queue system (preferably one of these) and make it quickly.

TLDR = Make dungeon ques longer

I support this suggestion (and only this one).

Once a party is found, it should show the player’s name, level, and class (not gears), and you should be given 15 seconds to accept/reject the party.
If you reject a party, you will move to the back of the queue so you may have to wait longer for another match.

Allowing people to reject parties may potentially increase queue times, but I feel like it will lead to less complaints. And do you really want to be stuck in a party with someone who doesn’t actually want to be there?

Must bump for usefulness.
Dungeon lobby sounds delicious, can run on both Queue system and Premades.
Bonus EXP IS A MUST for premade parties too, its ridiculous. Why can we only enter 2/3 times a day no matter if we’re Premade or Queued? It ruins the leveling experience for people who are trying to level together.

**I cant even.

This encourages solo leveling. Not commuting.
Yes you can meet a lot of nice people by running dungeons with them, but the amount of people you can meet by MAKING a party and making it yourself is better.

Why not buff 5MAN PARTIES by X00%?

No, instead they found a lazy solution to the system.
[Sorry, if there is one thing that might’ve made me quit from TOS, is this]

Yea seriously same here; there’s no way this current system isn’t playing a part in driving players away from the game.

I had a queue group earlier in 90dun where one person pretty much forced the whole group to skip ALL the mobs and just do the boss; this being while we had a party perfectly capable of doing full clear (heck I was wiz3linker1 with arde and pard buffs so I could nearly one-shot a group of mobs by myself, not to mention I have barrier scrolls for emergencies). Have had a similar experience before in 50dun as well, which makes even less sense since that one doesn’t even have particularly high profile boss loot.

But yeah, even if the rest of the group was like “That guy is a butthole I’m never running with him again!!” we have no control over who we get paired up with…

What a prick :<

There is no need to deal with this. They should just buff 5man parties with X00% Exp as long as they all remain in the same map. = =
Would encourage both Queuing and Partying with friends.

i like this idea BUT… have you noticed some players who enter queue rushes towards the boss and not killing the mobs like the rest of the members, right? kinda annoying but it’s happening. they should implement "need to hit( multiple x) the mobs in order for you to stay on the party from party-matchmaking, if player fails to do so, they will be kicked out from the dungeon.

…just sayin`

If you could reasonably make your own parties to begin with this wouldn’t really be an issue in the first place imo. It would be clearly defined before entering that this pt is either full clear or boss rush; and with party system (or even a queue system where you can see who is in the queue and reject entry) you can make note of players who rush or try to troll parties and avoid them.

So yeah, what you’re having an issue with I do as well, but the solution ultimately lies in fixing the queue system itself, not putting up blockades in dungeons.

Yeah lets give 2000% exp bonus to non-queue partys also why not free silver for everyone and infinite HP when you are in a dungeon.

The queue system is great, if you want to do the quests faster then join with your own party and dont get the bonus.

If you want bonus exp then you had to toss a coin and queue for dungeons

If you dont understand the whole idea it will only make you seem a tad silly to post something with such a negative opinion regarding the matter xP
Just sayin, get your facts straight.

1: Not to non-queued, but all 5man parties, queued or not.
2: Why do we have to pick or choose if we want to have fun with friends or not, you know, some of us actually like to party with friends.

Ya kinda agree withthis. Cuz in higher level dungeon, without a healer might take forever.

There is no trade, that is the point.

Why do we have to trade fun for EXP, the point of the game is to have fun.
You’re not having fun then you’re doing something very wrong with your time.

I understand the idea of queuing to save time but that is no reason to make EVERYONE have to queue with randoms in order to get the “full experience”

That’s like saying you can eat using your hands but its gonna taste like crap, or you can eat without using your hands with a good taste.
There is no such thing, its pointless, it ruins people’s enjoyment of a game, specially with the limitations of 2 runs per day.

No.

The purpose of the XP bonus is to compensate the risk of getting a crappy party. In premade you can setup a perfect party setup which makes full runs probably double as fast. There’s no need for XP boost specifically for non-queue groups. If anything the XP in some dungeon should generally be increased, but IMC already commented on that they won’t do it and instead will try to make them more popular by adding unique drops to them (which actually supports non-queue more than queue, because there’s no drop bonus for queue).

Not saying that the dungeon system is perfect already, but your suggestions would just make it worse.

You’re not bad with words. You just need to calm down Lol.

That was passive/agressive asf. xD

  1. Its a suggestion.
  2. Im not demanding.
  3. Fun is subjective, which means I’m allowed to give my own point.
  4. I haven’t even considered anyone taking in my suggestion, the only people here are other players. Which means I have been considered by a total amount of 0 developers.
