Tree of Savior Forum

I can't take this anymore.. (tree of savior queue system)

they kinda should add function where ur “Local party”(Party with members in the same location/server)
can join the party search together.
sometimes the game is play with friends ,
but they lack maybe 1-3 players
ideally most ppl would wanna play together as with friends they know.
having to end up "random chancing " to play together isnt very good.

It’s called RISK, and it’s intended that way.

if you’re so not into it then might as well create your own premade party (Oh wait, you’re worried about losing on the queue bonus xp? Then make up your mind and suck it up!)
Yeah life sucks, and guess what sourpussing dont and wont make it any better.

Nah, I don’t want to see elitists leaving every time they see a non-meta build.

Most of your suggestions would also make the queue time longer than it is now.

I actually understand where you’re coming from, however there’s a huge flaw in that line of rationale for the system.

If we assume it to be risk/reward, then when you look at it carefully there is actually a much greater risk for competent/caring players as compared to unmotivated/uncaring players. For example, if you get a group and its 5 dps, if everyone was competent and brought hp potions/bought buffs it would likely be near fine; In reality though what happens is competent players will bring pots and end up funding the run while selfish players essentially sit back and get carried: suddenly all your talk of risk/reward is thrusted solely onto players who actually care about supporting their party, while the lazy player is rewarded for others’ hard work.

When the game keeps fostering this kind of “Let others bear the burden for you” environment, EVEN THOUGH it may be tolerable for some players such as yourself, it ultimately gives the game a bad image and drives away players.

I know you say things like “Just make your own pt and lose the bonus” but when you have directly competing systems such as queue vs not, you end up with the playerbase being divided and ultimately the 51% overtakes the 49% (i.e it would likely be very hard to even find people for a premade pt right now). Not to mention you are allowed so few dungeon runs in a day; if there was a way for premade parties to make up the difference in such a way as exp/hr/clears it would probably be a different situation.

Really hope they do something about this… 5 Archer Dungeon are not FUN AT ALL.

Yeah sometimes it’s just a hard sight to watch.

I think you’re on the right track with some of those suggestions. I think maybe we can even take it further and move away from it simply being more and more exp. The main problem with these parties is usually something like a lack of healing or dps; maybe we should give a large stat bonus/damage reduction and really strong hp/sp regen to a queued party, instead of an exp bonus.

Actually, it’s a 33% drop in EXP. So you’re losing a third of the run, not half the run’s worth.

The EXP you gain is:
100% + 50% = 150%

The difference/drop in EXP is:
100% / 150% = 66.6%

The reason why it’s not 150% / 100% is because that gives you the additional EXP you gain, not the EXP you lose. It becomes a ratio when you “invert” it.

You’re not wrong, but its a slight misunderstanding of my wording. Going from 150% to 100% is a 33% drop in total yes, but that 50% is “half a run’s worth of exp”, since that’s what 50% is: half. Queue is giving you a run and a half’s worth of exp each run at the moment.

They have a perspective of the situation that none of the rest of us have yeah. I think ultimately what I hope happens is after seeing this thread they consider the feedback and then come up with their own, well thought-out solution (so far they have plans to help certain queues’ frequencies, but not the queue/party system itself as far as I know). If it just so happens to end up being one mentioned in this thread then it is what it is.

I’m currently level 103, am a support cleric too. Done the 2 dungeons and Siaulai mission so far. Here’re my thoughts.

  1. Agreed with the exp thing. Agreed with the alternate buff. But I’d replace stat buff with just damage output.
  2. I disagree with 3rd and 4th points. It is class discrimination. I’d rather the game give us the option of queueing for a role-enforced group. Either allow us to queue as it is, or make it something like reserve one spot for a tank or cc, and one spot for a healer. The player then registers themselves as a tank, cc, dps, or healer then form a group based on that.
2.1. The reason I group tank with cc is because they kind of serve the same purpose; plus in my experience, those roles are the rarest bunch. DPS is a dime a dozen.
2.2. If the stat buff is in place, it should only apply to not role-enforced groups, since the point of it is to help the non premade groups.
  3. Disagree with dungeon lobby. I want to be able to queue while running around doing quests and stuff. The alternative would be to make something along the lines of a “Looking For Group” chat channel.
  4. I didn’t know point 6 isn’t in the game. Need clarification though. In other games I’ve played, a person can be in an incomplete group then queue for randoms to fill out the rest. Is that what you’re asking for, or are you requesting for the ability to run the dungeon without a full 5-man group? Agreed with both either way.

Thank you. As the queue system is currently, whenever you queue you queue as a single individual. There’s no “Entering my party of two into the queue” or anything like that at the moment. If you want to get into the same queued party as a friend, your best bet is to do “likes” on each other and then both enter queue at the exact same time.

Even with that though, I would say the odds of it being successful with a single friend are probably around 75% (at a decently active time of day) in my experience; I’ve tried with more than one friend before and we’ve never all gotten in the same group (although I’m sure its still possible).

Also, you can’t really do anything else while waiting for the queue in ToS; the menu goes on the middle of your screen and if you close it/move to a different area you’ll exit the queue pretty sure. Infact I’m not even sure if you can move that far away from the dungeon’s entrance beacon without it closing as well, so yeah people just stand there and likely tab to do other things if its a long wait.
