I am disappointed

So we finally have, months later then ktos, the r8 update. Didnt you tell us you wanted to synchronize the update state between itos and ktos? Instead we are more far behind then ever.

However, after playing some hours I ran up almost these beautiful maps, tested out my Taoist and now I came to the conclusion that I can quit without any regrets.

Here are some rants for you that makes me think this game is nothing for me anymore:

The forced cast animation protection, which also can cause a massive stuck of several seconds, still works horrible and on classed like Taoist, that actually needs a very quick input response in order to cast the Storm Calling/Zaibas chain proper, it is an absolute nightmare.
The animation delays must be reworked from ground since they are unbearable. Playing a caster class is horrible these days. Some mobs chase me and I cannot even cast Heal because the animation takes so long that mobs kill me before I can move again - even if they are half the screen away.
I dont want to bother this anymore and it is one of the major aspects why I could freak out. The character must be able to move while casting. Simply as that.

The mob behavior is plain awful.
You definitely have changed a couple of things, such as the response time and so on but this is not enough. Mobs often just stand around for hours and dont move. And when you cast something and be stuck in your animation they just wake up, move to you and wreck the â– â– â– â–  out of you. The response time is so random sometimes that it actually became the biggest challenge in this game if you are playing solo.

Some mobs are so lethargic that they dont even bother anymore to move after a while. See this video:

The mob hp pool slowly turns into an absolute joke. I need Storm Calling + at least 1 Zaibas to kill a mob or Carnivory+Cure+Zaibas without SC.
For.
One.
Mob.
Oh, did I already mentioned I have some of these attributes at lvl 90?
And in return some of these just one shot me, even with Aspersion. Not every, but no simple mob should ever one hit a player when hes at the same lvl.
The mobs also have a ridiculous amount of def/mdef where Im asking myself why they has to have 400k+ hp when you cant even do half of the dmg you did on a mob before r8. Sure, not every mob has that crazy amount of def/mdef but there are too many non-silver that are just frustrating. Cherry on top Ive found so far was Goblin Charger which didnt even take 25% of the dmg I regulary have applied to mobs like in Maven Abbey.
Its just too much and I havent even seen any of the new world bosses and when I think about the reduction they have, I dont want either.

The magical defense formula in this game simply sucks.
There is a reason why max con classes were so much dominating in PvP and that is because the reduction of magical dmg is by far lower as from physical. It also has no further counters like block or being reduced by a skill similar to Aspersion. Those options doesnt exist but would have been necessary in order to create a better overall balance.
And the new mobs shatter use homing missle bolts like crazy. I recive over 9.000 from a Shaman Goblin. Over 9.000! Jokes aside, the number is real and with an hp pool of 13.5k this nothing that I can laugh about anymore. If there would be at least an opportunity to reduce the dmg effectively besides +60 Kepa Amulets… But no, there is no way to get an acceptable amount of mdef unless you are rich irl and buy hundrets of millions of silver from those china bots in order to upgrade your stuff to +25 and higher.

I wanted to point on quests here as well since I did like 20 and 5 of them seem bugged but it looks like it is a bug that has a wider range and affects old quests as well. Im confused if I should blame the incompetence of IMC to create a stable system that cannot be shattered by just adding a few new things or if I should focus the current new quests that are simply bugged.

I have to admit that I turned off the background music very early since I didnt like it but I think that one rock theme, that is played on certain amount of newer maps is new just lets make shake my head. Ive barely seen a game with such an unmatching sound. You want to create a little universe with some cute outfits, (mostly) tiny little monster and a colorful dream enviroment and in background runs what? Bass-heavy metal. Wow…

The controller support for Druids but also in general still sucks.
Druids Transformation gets randomly dissolved while casting a skill with a completely different combination. I have it at R2+X and the transformation breaks when I cast Safety Zone with L1+X or Zaibas with R1+B and with other skills as well. I didnt test out how many combinations actually can break this state but there are definitely too many.
Unlike other input methods, Controller doesnt show skill slots that are blocked with a transformation.
The skill input is more bugged then ever for Druid.

Ah, and with all combinations that includes “A” (you jump without other keys) I still have a very high rate of getting stuck infinitely in the charging process of a skill. Sometimes a jump is enough to interrupt this event, sometimes only a relog or channel change helps. But its not solved after. If you cast if imedietly after, the same issue happens again. Its great if you want to rush a dungeon, get stuck with a skill, cannot get out of this state, need to relog and lose a whole run because of this ■■■■.
I dont know how the beta was but this bug is present since day #1 and at this point I really wonder why you even implemented controller support for your game if actually dont support it at all.

I also miss a couple of settings that I can do. Window transparency? I remember you have announed something like that for the future. Now, where is it?
Also, Im running my steam folder on my SSD and my space on that is very limited. Why cant I have an option to change the default path to save my recordings on my 2nd drive? YOU want footage from us and offer a free software here that lets me record 30 mins before my drive yells that its going to die soon due to space problems.

And since Taoist is my main class and the only Ive tested, I have some specific rants here:
#1. Creeping Charm of Death is a horrible skill.

EACH skill use costs 1500(!!) silver and lvl 1 only has just 4 hits. 4. â– â– â– â– â– â– â– . hits. Technically I can apply 20 hits x 3 due to overheat. However, my Cure with lvl 90 Attribute partly deals even more dmg as at least 2 of them (and we are speaking of the case that every hit was applied) and costs exacty 0 silver.
The new skill has no(!!!) passive attribute and always will stick at this performance.

Let me rephrase this: I have to be a rank 8 class in order to unlock the only dmg skill of a class that cannot even compete with a rank 1 basic skill and costs me 1500 silver per use?
IMC, are you â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  kidding me? This is unacceptable.

Ah, speaking of the use of it, it just passes walls and everything, making it a total mess and there is no tactical use or any player skill required. I expected a mechanic similar to Schwarzer Reiters Retreat Shot that you have to position yourself properly, lure more and this spot in order to apply dmg and be useful at least but this is nothing but disappointing.

Oh, and did Ive already mentioned that the spawn point of each talisman way to far ahead of your position? Maybe you havent realized it but dmg based Cleric class often stands in a Safety Zone, tanks it there and cast skills then.
The spawn of each talisman is partly so far ahead of you that you hit monsters you are tanking 1-2 times and I also had the case were I completely missed with the skill because the mob was too close to me. This is a freaking joke. Can every idiot get a job at your company? Because thats what it looks like.

#2. Storm Calling is bugged as â– â– â– â– .

The debuff often doesnt get applied, even if the mob is standing right in front of you and triggers the Talisman to break.

And speaking of this talisman, wtf did you think drink when created the concept of this skill? A talisman that randomly breakes once a monster crosses your way at the wrong time. Really?
Why cant this not just floating ~2 secs and proc automatically after? Your mob AI is the worst â– â– â– â–  Ive ever seen you actually bind an opportunity in to let it break thru these random moves. Speaking about this makes me just angry. The massive focus of incompetence at this place is too much for me to handle.

I wanted to bring another point here but honestly I totally forgot it while I had problems to calm myself down again but I think thats good enough.

There are also some positive things to mention like I finally have reached 60 fps in Femidian and the totally idiotic trade restriction has gane at most parts but there are still enough white knight idiots that praise you.

Did Ive already mentioned how hard I hate this forum with these non-existing full preview? And an enabled BB Code view is for loser.

butt, I might know whats happening cause it isn’t new…

the problem is, that melee mobs are acting like ranged mobs and they are like “am totally shooting you” but they cant do it cause they are melee… so they stand there looking dumb…

but get far enough and they will follow you again

I recorded this right after he chased me. Then I casted Safety, starting casting my skills and it randomly resetted without that I have had done anything for a while, moved back at this spot and ignored me. lol

I cannot compare it to other classes but Taoist is static as Diev and its use is only ET or big boss fights. Else its completely useless. The combo simply takes too long and in real use it turned out most mobs have died in party play earlier before you have finished your combo. I dont really know how Tao could add any support for the group that has impact.

Back at the days I also had massive trouble against the mega tier bosses since your attacks are mostly close ranged, Sterea gets destroyed alot and you can get your ass rekt before you can cast anything if your are unlucky. I would say 150~200 con is the minimum I would want to have for lvl 330.

If you are like me, Cleric 2 - Krivis 3 - Druid 2 you definitely have accepted your fate already and still want Tao. Else it only makes sense for a full supportive build for the ele resist but honestly I would rather go PD 2 or whatever I would go if I would want a supportive way.
I guess C2 - Diev3 - Miko - PD2 will be meta soon.

It doesn’t matter what your build is, the new mobs are absolutely absurd, 1250+ evasion they still hit me 50% or more of the time, 75% of the time on spiral arrows for 25k 1 shots, the mages blast you for 8k a pop, and this is with +7 sissel braclets and max petamion, and the standard issue con/gear.
I also was really excited to get on today and play but now I am closer then ever to leaving for good aswell, if this is their new plan then why bother. Even if 3/4 of my quests weren’t broken and I wasn’t crashed every other loading screen itd still take me 567890274 pots and 49 trips to the repair npc to do anything worthwhile, no thanks.

Maybe it a bug too. Think about it, they royally screwed up everything else, would it surprise you if they maybe added a wrong value somewhere for all the new mobs, maybe an extra 0 or 1 that shouldnt be there causing these mobs to be this ridiculous?

nah its intended, the current new mobs are scaled from the perspective of us being lv330 with the new lv315 weapons transcended several levels, meanwhile in reality 3 months from now less then 1% of Klaipeda will own a 315 weapon b/c the practonium needed to make them all only drops from a lv330 world boss, and it will be monopolized by the same 2 guilds, and even if you can get in you will never place high enough for a cube against the old world boss mafia and all their exploited spoils

ya my favorite is when you change zones and you enter and appear dead b/c imc placed 3 archers directly ontop of the zone line so you load into 3 spiral arrows to the face

Monster magic defense is already insanely high and you want wizards to throw out what little matk equipment they have to counter equally insanely high magic attack from monsters?

Please don’t mention the new weapons and shields, they are 315 and not craftable for most people yet.

the new items wont be craftable for 95-97% of the player base for several months, the practonium only dropping from a lv330 world boss is the worst part of the entire update, obviously only 2 guilds per server are basically going to get it, and when they do finish gearing all their main and alts they will start charging atleast 50million for it, don’t believe me, wait and see
