Hunter/wugushi end game + questions ty

hi guys,
this is my current setup:
archer c2 - hunter c1

Pure strength at this time.

my current plant is to go
archer c2 - hunter c1 - wugushi c2 - falconeer c1 and rank 7 i’m not sure yet.

my question is if hunter needs more ranks to shine or if it’s okay
to leave it at rank 1 and go wugushu…
also not sure if i should go wugushu rank 2 or switch falconeer out
so i can have it at rank 3.

i’d also like to know if hunter and wugushi won’t fall off late game

any information is welcome ^^

I am currently archer 1 - ranger 1 - Hunter 1. I’d say your current plan looks fine maybe consider archer 3 at some point to get twin arrows since your already archer 2. Hunter 1 is fine in my opinion for the debuff from coursing and the dmg from rushing dog. Hunter is pretty buggy at the moment not sure if I devote more into it. I would absolutely go wugushu 2 if your going to get it. 3 isn’t a must though. As far as rank 7 you have Alot of time to figure that out but as of now I’d consider canooneer for aoe help cuz your build is heavy single target.

My plan is to go archer 1 - ranger 3 - Hunter 1 - wugushu 2 the idea is to have strong single target dmg with Hunter 1 and wugushu 2 but also be able to mob well with ranger 3. Not sure how well it’ll work guess we will see. The good thing is can change it up if need be after wugushu 2 to fit something else. Giving up a strong rank 7 class for ranger 3 may not be worth it.

With current state of pet AI, Hunter to be viable in PVE really need to go Hunter C2 for Hounding to reset AI bug that prevent pet from moving in dungeon. C2 also not bad as you have access to Retrieve, similar skill like coursing but not as buggy.

Dunno about other class and endgame as I’m a Hunter C2>Fletcher lv 160

Is the bug only when you use coursing? Or does it happen no matter what in dungeons? I guess what I’m implying is if you stick to rushing dog in dungeons would your pet be fine?

Hunter C2 is extremely safe to pull up elite monsters at 200+.

I never thought of such build but as it looks, Hunter -> Wugushi is the master of DoT.

The only issue though is that Hunter is not good against Land bosses, but that’s pretty much it.

Idk what trigger the bug…probably both coursing and retrieve. If you keeping your Hunter C1, you’ll most probably use it for Snatching only in instance dungeon.

Rush Dog damage even at level 10 is too low to be effective. I only use it when partying with Linker or Cryo.

I’m also building a Archer1-Ranger1-Hunter2-Wugushi2 almost full STR. I’m still undecided on the R7, either Hunter3 or Wugushi3. But anyway I’m still only at hunter1 with this character so no point dwelling too much on it

Don’t pick Hunter 3 as R7, it’s too late for that. I think musketeer would suit your build better…you could also try Scout.

Well yea Noone should be expecting rush dog to carry your dmg or you’ll be very disappointed but it can act as an ok filler spell. I guess I’ll have to find out myself as I just hit 50 and grabbed hunter.

i’d like to thank everyone for there input,

i had some doubts about going hunter c1 - wugushu c2 after
but currently i think i’ll go hunter c3. Mostly because it has alot of
cc/control and i kinda see him as a mini tank at this point…
(but i’m the one following him… not the other way around)

i also think this class will improve when they release companion gear,
improve AI and maybe release new/stronger pets

hoping it’s the right call because i’m starting to get attached to this char ^^

Just remember that when playing Hunter, do not try to compare yourself with those cookie cutter builds. Your damage output and gamestyle are DIFFERENT from other classes.

Never forget to try to overcome the challenges your build provides you, and most importantly…enjoy.

Hunter C1 is already good utlity (Coursing for PVP and Snatching for anti-flying PVE/Boss in particular), and at the current state of the game I wouldn’t recommend spending further ranks into it.

You might want to take up Archer C3 to max multishot (great w/ Falconer’s Circling) and get Twin Arrows for burst single-target damage. You’ll benefit from max Swifstep too (+20% evasion) if you intend to have a higher amount of DEX in your build.

R5 is up to you - Scout for additional PVP utility maybe?

As for R7, Musket and Cannon are too good to pass unless you’re going Fletcher C3.

All the hunter hate, meanwhile rush dog is the only competitive pvp attack offered out of any of the archer trees.

People fail to realize that Hunter is a PVP class.

Blocked by bloodletting and prophecy and removable by dispeller… The dog is also easily destroyed by most classes unless you invest significant amounts of silver into it.

It’s going to be bad in battle league most of the time, useless in pve vs mobs and bosses 90% of the time. the 10% is when you have a linker and are fighting a flying boss, and completely useless in duels against anyone that knows what dispel scrolls are.

EDIT: I think that it could be good in pve maybe with growling, but nobody wastes a rank for hunter c3 so I really couldn’t tell you.

PS. With what I have tested with pd, bloodletting prevents damage but I believe they are still pulled for a short duration.
