Hunter: Skills and Damage

Hunters are trainers who hunt enemies using companions. Companions use skills which require cooperation with their owners, such as biting and holding onto enemies or finding hidden targets.

Hello guys! I have some questions about this class.

  1. Is there any video showing the skills? (Updated/kOBT)

  2. How good are “Coursing”, “Rush Dog” and “Retrieve” in damage?

  1. As far as a video goes, I haven’t seen any myself of the new stuff for hunter. The current videos are pretty relevant though. Just that some of the skills now do damage.

  2. Coursing = Good against all but bosses
    Rush Dog = Good damage since its rework, though you have to actually press the skill for it to go off. (We will miss you auto Rush Dog, you were to good for us and we didn’t notice :cry::sob:)
    Snatching = Exceptional against flying enemies, including most bosses.

Your build isn’t bad. If your dead set on the companion thing.
Suggestions:

  • You would want at least 3 or more points in Snatching
  • Growl is fine at 1 point or 3 points
  • You don’t need 10/10 Circling. As far as we know so far not many monsters have higher than 5 or 6 AoE Defense (This is my own knowledge) so 5 points in Circling is good enough.
  • Hanging Shot in all honesty should be 1 point. As a hunter and Falconer you have so many CC skills that getting damaged is not much of a worry.
  • Put some points in Hovering, it’s like the auto attack for your falcon.

This is my knowledge and 2 cents. Take what you will.

Edit: Oh yeah Oblique Shot that high may give you mana problems, so be careful when leveling it. That or put points somewhere else (I.e. level 1)

  1. Circling 10: What about new monsters that will come at higher levels? (Rank 8+)
  2. Do you know if the movement speed gets higher when using Hanging Shot, independent at what level the skill is?

To both those question, I do not know.
Though I am pretty sure that more points in Hanging Shot only increases its duration.

More testing must be done! FOR SCIENCE!!! :nerd:

Link to patch notes for this change, please. Other than a thread on reddit (with no concrete info either, only assumptions) there is nothing on internets which probably means that it is a bug of some sort.

in your build i see your maxing Snatching. I’m so proud of you.
invest money in Oblique Shot attribute first this skill will carry you (you may need down it to level 1 to save sp).

I didn’t think snatching was gonna be to relevant but dang im hyped totally saving that

DUnno but i read that the skills damage is based off the pet stats so gonna try a con spirit build with 1hand xbow and shield

Look at the level difference between the boss and the player.
Every shot on that boss would have got 50% of hes HP anyway…

Doesn’t really show much about it.

Maybe on the vid they put that they had nothing in attk attributes for the pet so it might be nice if there alot of flying bosses/elites in the games future

No. Pet stats not related to skills damage at all.

they are related if pet deals more than 1 dmg with normal attack. And for that it needs ALOT of training.

I tested with Praise buff. Buff did increase my dog normal attack damage but skills damage still the same.
