Hunter + Falconer?

Hello people!

I’m pretty new to ToS, just started yesterday. I currently have a lv30 Ranger and boy do I like how it plays.

Now, the ‘pet’ classes are tempting me a lot.

How practicable is it to go Hunter, then Falconer? Can you actually work the Hunter companion and the falcon simultaneously?
Or should I just skip Hunter, max out Ranger and then go for Falconer?

If it’s any help: I’m mostly doing casual solo PvE (in MMOs in general, that is), though I don’t mind partying at all when it’s suitable. Not a big PvP fan though. I just like being able to explore all the places at my own pace.

I also had a lv~70 falconer hunter on RO (I know ToS has quite some different game mechanics). Never got to try out the wolves, and the trapping was a pain (so no Sapper, thanks), but I loved the falcon dmg output.

Just go Ranger C3 into Falconer

I read about the pet AI in the meantime…

Seems like Ranger C3 to Falconer still has an unused rank in the middle though.

What would be the best use of that? I heard Rogue’s Feint is a great combo with Barrage. Or go Archer C2? Or any other good recommendation?

Yeah, you could go Scout for PVP
or Archer C2 so you will have more single target damage
or rogue insane crit rate with rogue’s feint combo with barrage
your choice

Well, I’m not really into PvP

I’m rather looking for decent PvE survivability, to have fun exploring and grinding at my own pace.

Barrage is already a fun skill to use at Ranger C1, so I’m mostly tending towards Rouge

Aww I have been looking for a thread like that. I have heard rumors that both companions aren’t compatible, so I was wondering if it is true.
I saw a video that somewhat showed the incompatibility as in if you have both companions out and go to a trainer you won’t be able to train the Falcon, you will need to take off the other companion off to access Falcon’s stats at the trainer, putting away the other companion is not enough. Can’t find that clip anymore, but in this clip she has two pets out sooo maybe it is doable. I wonder. If you find out the answer please let me know.
