Hunter/Falconer build. Need tips and help

Well, I just use Savage bow for the time being and have some free skill points. Gonna figure out later, if I can simply cast Snatching with it and than switch for more damaging weapon.

I’m pretty much okay with what to add right now, I have a general idea. But still torn between what to add for stats. I invested a few points into SPR(like 6 so far?) and a few into CON too (6-7), because it was just way too low and I’m not going a build w/o CON. I don’t know if I will go for DEX, maybe just STR. 1:1 STR CON? Maybe a healthy dose of SPR to have a substantial mana pool, that’s it?

don’t take qs1 or even qs if u not going for running shot. Pavise not that good, mob including range mob sometimes will run straight into you making the pavise useless.

A little late on that, so far it’s been good for me, Pavise and Caltrops. Don’t think I’ll regret it.

Oh, right, the most important and frustrating thing about hunter.
Hunter skills are used on the closest target to hunter.

[/quote]You don’t need much Con early on, so, go Str and than figure out how much Con to add later. Probably 2:1

Even with mouse controls? You can’t target?

Nope.
The only way is to Click on mob once and than press the skill, but it rarely works that way, it’s probably just a bug, lol.
Oh, right, I had plenty of dodge… ye, you probably gonna need some con for level 75+

I find that extremely curious, I hope it’s a bug, but either way if that’s the case, some CON is in order seeing how you’ll go near so often. But CON is needed anyway(I’ve seen too many one shot on Archers and Wizards with no CON) >_>

Well, Coursing and Retrieve are hard CC, so, it’s bearable.

Almost forgot:
Closest to Hunter also mean that Boss’s Traps are included.

Snatching doesn’t choose to be cast on flying mobs either - it can be closest land mobs - doing nothing.

But don’t worry, coz like 30% of time the pet’s skill will simply fail to cast, if the ground is not flat enough.

enchant costumes xDD focus on health and evasion

Oh god that must be really annoying… So Coursing works on bosses? Or does it only do damage?

The new patch fixed Coursing right? Does the pet still stay there after the target is dead? I’m kinda excited to get to Hunter already, it’s my for-fun character too. It’s very refreshing, I played Hunter in RO before, was fun.

Only Pointing, Rush Dog and Snatching work on bosses.

The new patch didn’t fix anything, I created a tread already.

WAIT WAIT WAIT
Does mana mana, venom (by venom I mean that bow that adds poison damage) and hats also add to it? Does blessing add to it?
What about extra hit bonuses, like sacrament, does it add as well?

I played 3 Hunters in both previous tests, and gave up for this one… but apparently it’s much more interesting now :open_mouth:

Although Growling is even worse than before. :sob:

I have +9 Poison Property Attack boots that are added on every tick of Snatching/Coursing/Retrieve. That’s why I made an assumption about Arde.

Are they never gonna fix that Arde Dagger bug lol. It’s written Fire Property but every class and their mother uses one. I don’t intend to use one, I will be shield wielding. I was never the DPS type anyway, mostly to CC and support.

So is Praise totally not worth it? Even it’s attribute?

  • Coursing and Retrieve are useless for PvE ( I don’t know if after this patch they’ll become better).

  • Growling is useless.

  • Rush Dog is good at early levels, but since improve pet’s attack is really expensive I don’t know if 1700~2000 damage will be good at lvl 280.

  • Dispeller Scrolls and Plague Doctor turns you useless on PvP

  • Summoner Classes too. (Since your pet hit the closest target is almost impossible to hit the Sorcerer/Necro/etc)

  • Subzero Shield destroys you (Each hit of Retrieve/Coursing applies the freeze chance, so you’ll become perma frozen)

  • If you hit someone else with Coursing and/or Retrieve the enemy only can wait for death.

Make Hunters a good class is really easy, they can just fix companion AI so your skills will hit the target you choose and not the closest one.

Another option is remove the Stun from Coursing and make this spell usable on Bosses and against Bloodletting and Dispeller Scrolls. Hunters don’t need 2 stun skills that stack and have 2 charges each. Its almost ā€œI’ll be useless or CC you til deathā€

Well, it works on pet attacks and Rush Dog (ofc if pet is in level range of the mob).

Why is Growling useless? It inflicts fear and stops people from coming near right? Hope you can elaborate on that.

The PVP aspect of this class is really wonky, honestly doubt I will PVP with this character anyway, but it will be interesting if they fix and tweak AI.

Growling don’t works on PvP neither on Bosses, only for normal monsters and only 1 per time. When you use Growling your pet fix on the ground and you can’t use any other hunter skill. Monsters need to touch your immobile pet to be affected by fear.

PvP is the only aspect of the game that Hunter is a viable class compared to others.

There’s not even a short range or AOE on Growling? Sounds ā– ā– ā– ā– , but could be useful in a pinch. As usual many skills in this game are broken, just like Physical Link.

PVP in this game is retarded too, so much CC.
