[Hunter] Companion dies too fast

Hi Guys,

I’m a lvl 159 Archer with one circle from the hunter class.
I took the class to benefit from the CC provided by the companion but frankly, I’m really disappointed and regret picking the class instead of going Quarrel Shooter.
The Main Reason for this is that the companion is buggy as hell but the most disturbing thing is that It always dies instantly from mobs in dungeons and dies after 3 sec fighting vs normal mobs.
Note : When a companion dies it get stunned for few seconds then it loses all stamina which renders it completely useless.
As a hunter , the main damage source is obviously your companion and if your companion is always dead you’re basically stuck with Auto attacks…
This is frustrating as hell, not to mention that sometimes when the companion dies he gets bugged and doesn’t move anymore until you change channels.
I know that you can raise stats by talking to the NPC that gave you the companion but that is not enough. The companion gets weaker and weaker in higher levels.

I’m posting this to know the opinion of fellow hunters and hopefully for IMC to look into the state of the hunter ( and Summoner type classes overall).

What is your companion level?

You can use Hounding, C2 skill to kinda reset the not moving bug.

I also think the class and the AI is buggy as hell and need to be fixed ASAP, but I also think the stats of the companion are kinda ok, because as far I know (not sure though) companion’s lvl goes until 400 and it’s intended to be shared by your whole team, his main source of buff is by training, what can cost you a lot of money, so that u must decide if you want a strong companion or to invest in other things or atributes, I dont know if there is a limit for buffs too, but I am always poor because I spend all my hunter’s money in training his defenses and he dont die at all even on DGs. Training a companion is a long way (expensive way!) the will help your team if it’s invested on, the same way we spend a lot of money buying expensive gears, we must spend this same amount of money buffing him so that he can be viable even on high levels. Not for nothing the companion take one slot of our team, because its a companion, not just a pet.
That’s just my opinion of what the dev team had in mind when they created the companion system, and what I like to think the reason is.

all the “pet” AI is pretty terrible.

also, your pet will start at lv1 just like you did.
go back to some place sensible and level it for a while.

The only way for pet to catch up is having alt +100 and do the sia mission, that’s what I did. My level is 144 and my pet is 137…not dying much in 130 dungeon.

The companion just receive exp when you receive it too. Killing low lvl monsters will not make him lvl up if you’re too strong for the map.

I dont know man he’s 30 levels under me… he does 1 dmg to mobs with auto attacks!

Yeah that’s why alt doing sialiai mission will help pet level. Hunter definitely for not for rushing type of people. It’s still a bad class when we point out everything.

I believe companion also affected by level difference…that’s why the mob will get penalty damage since it’s too low level. Brace yourself or make new alt or just reroll.

Idk how or when will IMC fix this class

Your second character. Since the mission scale with your level, you will always not be too strong for the monster to gain companion exp.

Are you Hunter C1 or C2?

Not much investment then since you have other class for atking skill. Could save it for pvp. If you’re c2, you either start alt to help level companion or just bare with it.

Im not going C2 and my other classes are mostly utility. Still how can an alt level my companion ? u can share companions between alts?

Yes you can. Try to look in the character selection screen. Make sure not to delete the companion instead

When you type /indun you can see level +100 mission at fedimian mercenary post. You can do up to 3 mission per day. Just queue for Sialiau mission search party or make 1 at around your level. The boss and monster there will always be relevant with your party member level.

Just go there for yourself and google more for answers.
