I can’t believe I missed this topic for so long. Jolly Roger expert here, I made my C3 Corsair just to farm with JR and have no regrets even though I’ve yet to loot a single boss cube, even when soloing world bosses strictly with Double Weapon Assault. Feels bad man.
I’m up to 1666 candle spider kills and 6 Venier recipes now.
Farmed enough honeymeli stingers to pay for my Manamana recipe + the 26 to craft the Manamana in a day. Average 25-30 honeymelis per hour.
Normal gems loot very frequently as well, but unfortunately they always drop as level 1 even on maps where level 2+ gems normally drop.
You can only loot the same enemy once. I’m 99.9% certain of this after someone asked me and I started paying closer attention to my pillage rolls.
Jolly Roger silver is 30% of the mob’s normal silver drop. Since dungeon mobs are pretty tanky and (mostly) don’t drop items, that’s a pretty substantial boost if you do solo clears.
Looting non-material items is pretty hit and miss in my experience. I’ve looted plenty of Veniers, tons of purple recipes in Roxona, a monster orb and 2 monster gems. However, often I’ve found that there are recipes you can’t seem to loot, even just common ones that drop every ~100 kills otherwise. I suspect, though I have no hard evidence, that it has to do with the DPK system, because JR seems to use true RNG in determining loot - so possibly new items that are added since DPK was implemented with no defined droprate won’t drop from JR. I’m basing this on the fact that all items that existed in beta seem to be lootable as well as new materials - since materials don’t use DPK - but not new recipes. If so this is a huge oversight from IMC.
Anyway, JR is pretty good. But if I’m correct about drop %s not existing for new items, it will be way less good moving forward unless IMC fixes it; but considering you still can’t use Double Weapon Assault with a pistol I think it’s safe to say IMC has forgotten Corsair exists. Seriously what other class gets access to a weapon that makes its own skills not work?
