How does this pvp hunter rogue looks?

any suggestions? i never played hunter so dont really know about this class…but looks handy, and C1 is very usefull.

I’ll just point that Hakkapell is incompatible with hunter.

You require to be mounted and hunter required the pet to be around on its own.
Mounting the pet after coursing has been activated is possible, I don’t know how you’d be able to use that.

Also, pet travel time is quite high so you’d be forfeiting your hakapell side in order to use hunter.

What do I think of it? A gimmick, you’d be switching between playstyles a lot between hakkapell rougue and hunter. It will be a convoluted playstyle.

Gimmicks are fun but I wouldn’t expect it to excel at PvP.

-Edit-
Would also like to add that pointing is quite useless, I’ve not experienced it, but it is flat values. Also makes the pet go smell every enemy it sees. Reliability goes through the floor.

Praise is quite useless too it is also flat values, not % based, the increase in movement speed is only for the pet and it only requires lv 1 to be taken. <- this means that you won’t move faster when mounted.

Rush dog is good, but will dismount you I guess, it’d be amazing if instead it took you charging at an enemy. it does not do that.

Snatching is quite good, but lv 1 is too low. indeed it is situational being for fly type only.

Coursing lv 1 is a joke. those 7 seconds will be 3 seconds in PvP.

yeah switching playstyle is the point of this build, and the mounting thing there is a addon can teleport your pet to you, but i dont know if its gonna be baned. also i have no idea how each hunter skill works cuz imc dont give enough detils.

Well if that’s what you want, best of lucks.

Coursing and retrieve are the same skill, the difference is : coursing keeps them in place and grants that 40% critical thingy, reduces defense by an insignificant amount.

Retrieve brings the enemy closer to you. Both skills leave the target unable to do anything for the duration of the skill, Retrieve is a C2 skill.

Rush dog, sends the pet to damage enemies, has a small AoE atk ratio and aoe size, needs enemies to be quite close to eachother. Causes stun with the attribute.

Pointing? no idea, I’ve discarded this skill after seeing its behaviour and in my opinion is useless.

Praise is only good to make your pet move a bit faster, makes no difference at all, the pet will forever chase targets regardless of how fast it is going due to bad pathfinding, applies to coursing, retrieve, rush dog, hounding, pointing and snatching.

Hunter’s gig is the control of individuals or groups, the group control bit is disabled in PvP and is not required in PvE, Growling can only be obtained at C3

I cannot comment on the other parts of your build, as I only play hunter falconer.

yeah i have played pvp with some hunters, the one keep stuning you is rush dog right? looks very nice…but dont knowi if it let you out of cloak…but stun is alwasy good for a sweat backstab

Rush dog indeed stuns but it is the one that leaves that yellow circling hovering above your head. last 5 seconds and it is 40% chance of stun.

The one that completly disables is coursing, retrieve also completly disables.
At lv 15 coursing disables a target for 17 seconds in PvP. At lv 10 retrieve disables a target for 7 seconds in PvP.

At lv 6 coursing disables for 8 seconds.
At lv 5 coursing disables for 7 seconds.

Both coursing and retrieve are 100% disable, cannot be resisted and cannot be dispelled once its active time has begun. The only way to avoid this is killing the pet and keeping it away from you.

The pet once a command has been issued will not stop, as it becomes a missile for the skill, it can be halted but not destroyed. If you disable the pet and then you decide to walk over it when you’re its target the skill will activate. This is what I refer when facing a hunter as “parry the pet”

Keep in mind that pet travel times are quite long, if you were to begin running the other way when a pet is after you and were not hindered by lag or stutters. You’d be able to perpetually keep the pet away from you.

  • Rush Dog does not break cloaking.
  • Rush Dog uses the pets stats for its damage.

Since I don’t think you’re going to invest super amounts into Hunter, I suggest this build instead. I have forgone the rogue and hack ranks as I have little knowledge on them to give you something good.

Coursing, and Rush Dog skill points are inter-changeable depending on what you want to focus on (Good equips on pet/cash pet/Pvp/Etc).

I recommend 1 point in Pointing. Yes I know Pointing is poop. However it is excellent in PvP if you want to walk around invisible without your pet giving you away. The reasoning is because with Pointing the pet will run towards enemies on its own that are somewhat off the screen. Then you can circle around closer while they are distracted by the pet (makes them think you’re next to it). I do this all the time in PvP, if it wasn’t for how OP a Kino mage and their damn suction CC skills are, I would be an invisible Mage/Swordsman/Cleric wrecker. Also Pointing can help aggro mobs if needed or stick to enemies.

In the end its best to tweak/experiment yourself and see how you like it. Remember you can just change it later when the resets come with the new combat changes coming later in the year. I never follow a build cookie cutter style.

I cannot agree to pointing not even with such sensible use case, I dislike the idea of skills existing just because, the prime example is roost.

However I can agree to the experiment bit, I do not know if that reset will apply to us aswell, but, there’s nothing to lose.

Waste your time you say? hah, playing video games and uttering those words at the same time to justify not going a route seems odd.

So try anything, just try to have fun.

We don’t speak of that word around here!

and,i just found oout pointing also chase invs target for some reason, its not c2 houding tho…but u guys are right, im gonna try this after the reset comes on. which on is the skikl that keep disable enmey tho?it knocks the enemg on ground and they just spam this skill till u die

also can you use sanrching on ground target?there is no where says only usable to air tatget tho…just wondering, the stable bleed can make alot of build good such as melee musk

You’re thinking of Coursing. Coursing is the one that you see with people being locked down on the ground till they die.

Snatching is flying enemies only. In ICBT you use to be able to use it on anything(didn’t bleed), but it was changed/fixed to flying only. Snatching doesn’t seem to work on flying enemies in Pvp.
CURSE YOU FEATHERFOOTS! (doesn’t work on kino raised enemies either)

That is a big bug.

Raise

  • Will now reduce enemies’ evasion to 0 and make them vulnerable to the following skills: Hunter’s ‘Snatching’, Cannonneer’s ‘Shootdown’, Musketeer’s ‘Birdfall’.

You can keep Hacka if only for the attributes.

Hunter skills don’t work while burrowing so your pet will become useless if you use it.

Actually the pet becomes a liability because it will give away your position while Cloaking/Burrowing

Snatching doesn’t work agaisnt featherfoots nor falconers.

I’ve yet to see it work again with raise it stopped doing so for some months, dunno if they returned the functionality.

I’ve got to guess since snatching is a melee attack and featherfoot and falconers become immune to melee type they just ignore it, this makes no sense for a skill that is all about anti air! I’m a sad hunter.

It would totally ravage them! they’d think twice before daring to fly, I’d be the scourge of the air!

Also: I’m salty that feathfoots levitation is far superior to falconer’s hanging shot, Sure falconer goes f4st but auto attacks? atleast allow me to whistle to my ground companion! you know, those skills that do not use any weapons?!

thats y someone above mention that pointing skill is useful to avoid giving ur position

wut it doesnt??????thats like the second reason i took hunter, or i will just take qs foe cc…

anyway any suggestions foe other class other than hakka?it feels reall useless inpvp…

I’ve seen this build, or maybe just a slightly different one, in TBL (maybe Fletcher instead of Rogue).

Scout + Hunter

Turn off pet > Cloak and get near enemy > Turn on pet then use Coursing (requires the Mount 'er Good addon for pet on/off macro)

Hacka + Hunter

Mount pet > Dash towards enemy > Coursing

You used to be able to mount pet and use mount skills while Coursing is active before but I think they fixed that already though I’m not sure if it remained fixed or has been reverted.

Needs pet stamina + Praise w/ movespeed attribute to allow pet to catch up eventually on dashing Swordsmen, Samedieveiveivieive Bokors and players with Haste buff.

I have seen a hunter rogue hacka. Doesn’t work the way you imagine. There is somehow a huge ass delay when you remount after using hunter skills. The lag is like 6-7 sec despite good ping.

Lag in the sense, after remounting, you can’t use any of hacka skills somehow.
