I press 1 while resting and it immediately places the bonfire randomly around me. Sometimes it becomes too far from party members already resting. How do I choose whether to place it at 6 o’clock or 3 etc.
Cant tell if serious, but am merciful right now so…
1–2--3
4
6
7–8--9
press the number on your keyboard that you want the bonfire to appear on…
and tell your lazy ass party to get their ass of the ground and move closer…
as for you TC…
This is my default hotkey layout while resting
When I press 1 a bonfire immediately pops randomly at any of the 1-9 locations in your diagram below:
1–2--3
4
6
7–8--9
How do I choose where it pops
you most likely have conflicting keys
what control method are you using?_? or what compu…
Didnt change input mpde, so the default should be auto mode i think. I’ll check if there are conflicting keybinds when i get back home.
So normally after you press the bonfire hotkey it should prompt you a number from 1-9 for position? Mine just plops it anywhere.
try ignoring what the key say and press A first and then a # and see if that works…
there is even a loading screen about this…
cant tell how you got those random keys :\ did you edited files or tried to mess with data of some kind

That was a nice conversation between blind and deaf, may I join in?
@DrRM from what I see you use keyboard input. This mode doesn’t have any problems with placing bonfires by default so you obviously have no idea of what OP is talking about.
@Excenmille you are mouse user, right? There is a bug presented by devs specially for you.
Ahem…
Normally you press Insert to sit down, then press key binded to ‘place bonfire’. A grid appears around you character with numbers allowing to choose location for your bonfire. Yeah, like this
1 2 3
4
6
7 8 9
The problem is that if your ‘place bonfire’ key is already a number (1-9) the system will always place it on corresponding grid spot without letting you to choose. It’s not random, it depends on what direction your character is facing.
And speaking strictly it’s not a mouse bug, you are just lucky to have numbers assigned to first hotkey line by default. Of course, rebinding key(s) will solve the problem.
Whew…
This happens when you use mouse mode, I have the same issue. System auto accepts 1 as the bonfire location, and it is not always top left.
Solution: Use bonfire via mouse click over bonfire icon. Then select bonfire location via keyboard.
Why bother? It’s actually a FEATURE that allows you to save time by not pressing two keys to set bonfire.
look who is talking about blind and deaf…
I already told him about the # keys and asked him what he was using
what I forgot to tell him is that he can just:
next time, read all of it will ya…
Cheers guys, mouse clicking the keybind works.
Now my resting party mates won’t think that I’m trolling them by purposely placing bonfires out of range from them.
use keyboard mode, after u press A, u can chose bonfire location,
but if u use mouse mode, when u press 1, bonfire will appear at “1” location by default, i think this i a bug
