I don’t know how it work, but block is a little broken for now. Iron Skin and full con builds is a pain for us Archer.
So, how you guys counter this in pvp/gvg?
In endgame I dunno how archer are doing in pvp. Any feedback?
As an archer? you dont.
CON is a very broken stat in general. +CRIT RESISTS and +BLOCK … with the way this game works currently.
SPR gives block penetration.
It really isn’t a solution though.
Mult hit skilss, ground skills (traps, magic arrow etc), counterspell or dispel from party member, capture safety zone or OP magic aoes and use against enemys.
- Multi hit skills just machine gun “Block” text,
- All physical based ground skills are block able
- Capturing skills isn’t going to change the fact that yours do not hit.
- The OP magic skill captures is POSSIBLY a solution but highly unlikely and EXTREMELY situational considering that will be your only(extremely limited) attack and you will be counting on it one hit KOing a pure con build. (lol)
- Being melee gives you access to the best block pen item in the game, however not enough to counter a CON dump build with an Aias.
As someone that is a pure con build, I’ll say that there are very few workarounds. The options include:
- Be a magic based attacker
- Rely on the most obnoxious pet AI ive seen in any game and spam the hunter skill “Rush dog” every 5 seconds.
- Be a magic based attacker
doesn’t beat CON in benefits though. con potentially counters all physical builds
Falconer skills like Hovering can knockback a swordman while he is blocking which make a small window for you to damage him.
You dont get it.
For safety zone I said that about mult hits.
For phy ground, yes they are but they hit a lot of times and have more chances to pierce the block on a period of time, plus they can hit more ppl.
Capture is a rogue skill, its bugged atm, you can stole all magic circles in one place, no matter how many of them are there. So you can steal magic aoes and deploy them at you enemy.
criticize as much as you want, but bring new info for the topic.
i have not pvp’ed yet but when it comes to block penetration
cannoneer has a +60% block penetration attribute.
(same as dragoon that seems to be doing fine in pvp from what i read)
I play a QS.
Not sure if this helps, but when fighting a peltasta, he was blocking all my attacks, so I used “Deploy pavise” to knock him down while he was using block then used “Stone shot” to stun him.
I’m not sure if this applies to ‘passive blocks’ as well.
What you fail to understand is that he is referring to the Block stat provided by con and gear. It is in no way balanced hence why all of my points are spent into it. I’m not criticizing anything I am just stating that for physical builds it has no workaround. Until stat points are balanced there is no point in me investing into anything else.
If you happen to play on Klaipeda we can meet up and get some footage of these supposed counters to help others. However, in the current state of block I assure you will be left disappointed.
that +60% sadly isnt a flat “60% of block ignored”. It is your block penetration x1.6. Meaning if you arent geared and statted for penetration it wont make a significant difference against con dumped enemies, you are correct if you mean people that stat a normal amount of con however (50-100).
Correct me if im wrong but 1.6x 120 block pen(natural amount at 230) is not enough near enough to penetrate my pushing close to 500 block pen (without my Aias on) at 220.
how do swordsman deal with this issue?
Canonneer has attribute to increase block penetration by 60% when using cannoneer skill, but that still probably not enough to bypass stone skin, but it should be enough to bypass high/full con builds
We’re the problem…
Swordsmen have a decent amount of block pen available to them, but its an issue for them as well.
@Rhyzoh 60% added to 120 block pen is enough to even have a fighting chance of penetrating 500-1k block? (depending on if they have aias or not)
Block + bleeding skill = total ownage against dps melee. U die miserable
Only 1 option u can do. Break ur screen and throw ur keyboard
IMO the only PvP that matters is Battle League, GvG is a complete joke, and in Battle League I hear gear is normalized so I doubt Aias will matter.
Stone Skin is still OP as hell, Bloodletting was nerfed, I think Stone Skin will be next especially once Battle League opens up in iToS, I think western people complain about these sorts of things than eastern people, and hopefully IMC will do something
