Hi, I want to go for highlander 3 > corsair > doppel 3 instead of classic high > barb3.
I’m my head is a question of skullswing+cross guard vs warcry+cleave buff, I don’t think I’ll be using the other skills too much after R8 comes out.
Will I loose too much damage ?
high3>barb1>doppel for bossing
high1>barb3>doppel for for mobbing/pvp
high3>corsair or high2>barb>corsair for even better pvp

I took a brake from game, barb3 used to be the go to build for doppels. But I want to take corsair for rank 5 to do some PvP as well.
Maybe high>barb2>corsair, I might even go for barb1>rod2.

Highlander corsair doppel is a very nice build for pvp 2x2 and can burst much damage too… but highlander 3 barbarian 1 is better for burst dps… but no for pvp

well, high1>barb3 without corsair can do some pvp with pouncing and the stuns
or u could go high2>barb1>corsair or high1>barb2>corsair
dopp is not a pvp build, so u will never be good at pvp with it, corsair help but it won’t make u a lancer
No matter what you need 1 rank of Barb in there. Cleave is a free 50% damage boost to Doppel. How can anyone say no to that? What Lenny suggested will work best if you really want Iron Hook.
The stagger effect from crossguard looks awsome for killing archers, stagger>hook>kill.
It’s a question of whether you want PVE support/single target burst damage vs sustained damage bonuses under the right conditions and relying on a 5 second window to burst with Cyclone.
Skull Swing is more of a general debuff, as it can help archers, clerics, and dragoons deal more damage, but I believe Cleave will get you more mileage simply due to multipliers.
Corsair at this point is just preference: Iron Hook is a great hold, but you won’t be able to do much else while using it. It is the only path that complements Highlander for support, though.
Well @matheuscrosara, I’m lvl 280 and very satisfied with this build. I make a lot of money with Jolly Roger + Double Pay Earn, can do World Bosses with @wboccato and have more than 100 Wins in PvP thanks to Cross Cut, Cyclone and of course, Iron Hook.
If you wanna have a Hybrid build for PvE and PvP, go ahead with this way. If you wanna be a bit more strong in PvE, put a Brabarian C1 in your build.
A bit more, because Barbarian’s Cleave debuff only makes Swordsman less weak against other classes like Fletcher, Wugushi etc.
I prefer practice instead of theory. So, Doppel could be a PvP class and I know others better than me (with Peltasta, Corsair or Swordsman C2).
Wouldn’t Barb be a better choice in terms of patk boost with Cleave, Warcry and Frenzy together with DOV?
While HL offers utility/damage skills for consistent rotation.
Way I see it Dopp skills is centered in burst damage where Barb3 can make it shine more since HL3 works already as a standalone class.
Then again this is to each player’s own preference.
maybe they like the barbarian class? its not like highlander 3 is the ONLY option for a doppel build.
You can go both high barb 3 or high 3 barb 1 for a doppel, really doesn’t matter.
Just like hoplite c3 isn’t the ONLY way to build a dragoon.
If someone wants help building a barb 3 better just help them instead of bullsh1tting your own bias.
if u go high3>barb1 u will beat any barb 3 or high3>corsair on BOSS fights.
of course, if u have corsair or barb 3 u will be a lot better on PVP.
and hop 3 is not the only option for dragoon, actually if u go hop2>corsair2 u can do equal or more dps than hop 3 doppel
Not quite true, both barb 3 and high 3 are good builds for a late game doppel.
frenzy and warcry are great for a doppel build.

barb isn’t a good pvp class, won’t beat neither a lancer or dragoon 2, and will probably never beat mages.
Corsair is a great gvg class though.

both have great damage, if you build your barb correctly
lvl 10 frenzy is great and cleave does great damage. great late game scaling.
No reason to shut people down and say " don’t ever go barb 3"
every class has its use. I never said high 3 isn’t strong, saying “don’t ever go barb3” is just a stupid way of thinking.
This is exactly like your hoplite example, just because hop 2 corsair 2 has better single target damage doesn’t mean hop 3 doppel is useless and should never be built.

i would have to reset stats and spend a lot on gear / attributes
but i’m not playing a lot anymore so i decided to go for a suport cleric, its easier to do the daily stuff if i can make my own party
250+ maps are HARD, ur corsair help with that, thats why i said boss fights
cus skull swing, cleave, skyliner, vertical slash and crown are great for that
to kill hard mobs corsair helps a lot. but cleave helps too (some mobs i kill with 1 cyclone + cleave combo, while id need 2 cyclones without cleave)
buuut being able to hook 3 mobs and cyclone is great (u take no dmg), specially in PVP

Both is good build
Barb is alot better at pve,aoe
But high is more excel in boss fight (but equal or worse if boss cant bleed)
Seriously you cant look down on barb c3 buff, its have potential to increase p.dmg for 700+ dmg (warcry got buff to scale with enemy lv, frenzy s around 30 per stack with high str build) which also can increase by DOV (u need to cast dov after both skill which is the bad point though) pouncing is also 33 hit skill which really beast for boss
I got both barb3 and high3 the only time i feel high3 shine is with bleedable boss
For me if they just buff pouncing to activate without the need to move (same as rush) barb3 will be more appealing
