hi guys i’m making an hunter build and i want to know what stats and skills i should invest, also want to know the sinergy with other class, i want to make a hunter c3, they are good to solo leveling and questing?
Wow, no replies huh?
Here’s my 2 cents. This will be purely theoretical as I don’t (and have never owned) a hunter3.
My suggestion will be for you to go archer - x - hunter3 - x - x - x as the base.
Why hunter3? For [growling]. This skill will help your pve. It is basically a skill that creates a zone where nothing can move/attack. The 34 sec cd makes it ok to use in grinding parties when you reach 200+. As for the rest of the kit, [rush dog] is ok too.
Now on to synergy.
You can go archer 3 by taking rank 2 and 6. If you do this you can go with the current DEX meta safely going musketeer2 (or cannon2). I would say this is safer because the rank8 update heavily favors crit. If you can get the pet to perform the skills right it could (idk really but maybe?) be good in tbl with the short cd disables.
Another build would be ranger1 at rank 2 and rogue1 at rank 6 for the [feint] [barrage] combo. You also get [sneak hit] for 70% crit chance (this is absolute crit, really powerful) from behind. You could also go with musketeer2 (or cannon2) with this OR rogue2 into hackapell (would have to deal with dismounting/remounting though) for something melee if you want. [growling] will make going into melee safe and you will easily be able to get behind mobs for the crit.
A 3rd option would be to go full pet with archer2 at rank 2 into falconer3 at ranks 6 7 and 8. It will be sorta full support though and your only aoe would be [multishot] + [circling]. Both pets will need their own character slot so that’s something to think about.
Classes that probably won’t work.
Only 1 really comes to mind, scout. It’s not that it won’t work, it will just be too clunky to use. Scout is either scout1 for [cloaking] or scout3 for [bounce shot].
Scout1 for [cloaking] would fit at rank 6 but the problem with [cloaking] is “pets draw aggro” and don’t cloak with you. That means both other players and monsters still know where you are (making the point of [cloaking] moot). The other danger is taking damage while cloaked. When this happens you get revealed. Anything with an aoe that targets your pet and hits you will reveal you. There are also the “smart” auto target skills like [magic missile]. This skill bounces off the 1st target and the bounce can home into invisible units.
Scout3 is more of an opportunity cost thing. Scout3 is normally reached at rank 6. That means you are taking a rank 6 class at rank 8. That basically sums up why scout3 would be a “no”.
thnx for your help man =)
It’s hard to help someone with a build I’ve never ever built or I’ve never really seen (only played with one hunter3 in orsha >.<)
Experienced hunter3 I know:
(active) @Nekorin , @Nukella , and @Composition have hunter3.
@Awoooo did too, but not active anymore.
But they are all Hunter 3 Falconer 3 pet master build.
Could use search function too.
Example thread (about falconer mainly): FalconerC3 thoughts
edit: nvm, nekorin deleted her hunter I think.
I’m hoping they can dissect my post if I wrote anything wrong. I’m really interested in a hunter3-musket2 to role play duck hunt from NES (kidding).
My hunter c3 is still there though… just not using her much, at least not until alfafla hay is available for my GP :3
- Arch2-Hunter3-Falcon-Musket2 full dex - PvE/Possible PvP
- Arch2-Hunter3-Scout-Musket2 full dex - PvP/ Possible PvE with Growling > Buttstroke > Coverfire but still lack AoE, sneak quest clear with Cloaking at 300+
- Arch2-Hunter3-Falconer3 full con or dex or however you like as support, Sonic Strike and Rush dog still use pet’s stats, Snatching, Coursing, Retrieve, Hovering, Pheasant use player’s stats so could still use dex/str
My 2 cents: Hunter is great single target PvE, Huge dmg on flying mobs (snatching) but pet still easy to die, 2-3 hits from 300+ mobs, pet die = stuns, enable to perform any skills which render it useless, play around with Growling to counter this weakness. Growling doesnt work on players, only single target cc like coursing, retrieve, rush dog. Still buggy sometimes.
You’ve covered most of the points I think.
It really depends on how you approach your hunter.
Hunter 1 is mainly taken for coursing and snatching. (rushdog too) It’s a way to disable a target whilst doing a melee combo (feint + barrage for example)
Hunter 2 is more or less the same as hunter 1 but with more pvp viability. Hounding can reveal invis targets, and the longer duration of all your disable can help chain stun a target
Hunter3 is more of a supportive class as you mostly use growling as a permanent diev world tree. The range is very short but with Aiming from falc 3 or frost pillar, you can easily disable an infinite amount of mobs. However, if you’re gonna use it for growling, you should abandon plans on being a damage dealer as you can’t use other commands with growling
Note: Flying targets affected by snatching can be hit by ground magic circles
thnx everyone to your help =)
I solo’ed content up to the 220s, you could go beyond that I guess but for your own sanity find a group to play with. Hunter 3 becomes obsolete in group play anyway, this is true up until the 280+ content where monsters have such an huge HP pool that growling can for the first time be seen doing something useful in group play.
Why do I say it’s obsolete on pre 280 content? well, in a normal grind party enemies don’t last beyond 6 seconds most of the time.
As for skill I don’t really recommend my build since I tailored on the go based on my play style, so it’s not optimal. but if you’d like to know what I’ve got it’s this:
Archer2
Swift step 10 Multishot 10 Full draw 1 Oblique shot 4 Heavy shot 5Hunter3
Coursing 6 Snatching 5 Praise 5 Rush dog 15 Retrieve 10 Hounding 1 Growling 3Falconer3
Call 1 Circling 15 Hovering 10 Pheasant 1 Hanging shot 1 Sonic strike 7 Aiming 5 Pre-emptive strike 5For alternative build, what’s been listed seems good, but in PvP hunter sort of has no relevance anymore, you’d want to one hit kill your opponent instead of waiting the 4+ seconds for your pet to go after someone that could oneshot both your pet and you in those 4 seconds.
I’ve thought about going the Falcon3 route too albeit with Hunter2 Scout1 (char just got dusted off).
Is it possible do be a decent support with Falcon and Hunter and can I find any random groups when needed?
Is Hunter3 needed or am I good with Hunter2?
What stats would you recommend?
I’m sorry.
Catching up on patch notes and char builds has me confused and I’m trying to get back into the grind ^^
actually, other commands can be done while growling as long as the target is near enough. ive done this
Yes you absolutely can, however, unless there’s an enemy right ontop of your pet you shouldn’t really bother, and this is now, remember before? well yeah.
Why shouldn’t you bother? well why would you feed an enemy to your pet using heavy shot while you could, say, do something else that would deal damage to everything around. Yes yes, this doesn’t apply while you’re still hunter 3, still, unless the scenario allows for it to be done quickly, you’re just better off doing something else.
