Help needed: r7/8 for A2S2W2 build

I’m stuck on what to take next for my 211 archer/sapper/wugushi toon, and I’m only 3 class levels away from advancement. Currently aoe vs ground based mobs is superb, but groups of flying enemies are a pain. What’s the best ranks to help solve this? (Full STR btw)

Falconer1X
Doesnt seem like a good idea. Only claymore is actually affected by circling out of my kit and I intend to drop claymore because it’s weak, expensive, clunky and awkward to use.

Hunter1Sapper3
Does snatching ground flying mobs? If it does then I can place a punji stake, drop 1 mob to trigger the trap and then clean up with archer skills. Bonus of stronger traps.

Musket2
I’d probably take this if snatching doesnt work for birdfall. I lose the 50% to flying though, meaning my skills would be overall weaker vs flying enemies despite musket’s higher base damage. Also weaker punji stake.

I’m open to other ideas but I dont want to switch to something that requires mounting or needing weapon swap. Thanks for reading all this if you got this far.

Cannoneer c2. While you’ll still have some troubles with flying, you’ll at least get even more aoe as well as being able to boost your traps/poisons with bazooka. (I never had any problems with wugu/cannon regarding flying though)

Snatching does ground flying mobs.

Strange having problem with flying because Claymore helps with the flying attribute, same for detonation.

But you’re right, I only recommend Claymore for Falconer 3 builds because it’s amazing there, your build don’t need it, but it’s strange you saying that Claymore is clunky if you use Punji that is way slower.

For rank 7 and 8 your best options would be:

Falconer-Mergen that gives you ways to fight flying with Mergen natural Bow skills and Falconer let then have amazing AoE.

Musket 2 for heavy single target damage.

Cannon 2 for good AoE damage but it makes you invest in a good crossbow AND cannon.

Rogue-Mergen for a capture build, it can capture broom trap, Poison pot and Arrow Sprinkle, keep in mind the e 3 minutes cooldown of capture.

Well I guess if my first idea (H1S3) is not a good idea, then I’ll go musket.

As for the punji vs claymore thing, I should’ve said that despite both claymore and punji stake feeling quite cumbersome, punji at least feels rewarding. Having to take a few hits for 3 seconds so that I can kill 20+ monsters at once feels pretty good vs having to make sure I’m facing the right way before I place my claymore, then kiting the mobs that swarmed around me into the awkward aoe only to have 3-4 mobs being killed at once feels a lot worse. Add claymore’s high material cost and that the placing and detonating animations are slow and can freeze, it feels like more trouble than it’s worth.

Mini-rant over sorry. Thanks for the replies everyone
