Help about the Hunter/Falconer build

Hello Guys, I only started playing as a Hunter days ago. I’m level 82, C2 Hunter and I hope you can help me on my skill build. I have questions when it comes to coursing and snatching. Is it okay to put coursing on level 5? aaaand what about snatching? Are there a lot of flying monsters/bosses in game? (sorry just started playing last tuesday so I’m practically a newbie >.<). I also saw a youtube video about leveling snatching to 4 but i think it would be okay to put it on 3? heres the video… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5G1UIHmYcI

oh and wait, here’s my build. I also plan on having a Falconer as my final class. so here it is. Thanks in advance, hunters!

Build (please, I’m sorry for the name of the build hahaha):

PS: on the side note, I put a hounding at 1 because it “fixes” the companion bug when it freezes according to some other forums. Thaaanks!!

i never try it but alway wanted to try this build.

I can’t help you but I can’t believe you were able to bear with the buggy AI up till level 80+ @_@

haha thanks! I’m just confused with what to do with snatching and pointing right now. I usually use pointing to lure monsters to my companion but would leveling it up have other advantages? If you can give me some insight in the future, it would be appreciated!

It is hard but once you get hounding, the bug where the companion freezes in order to complete the skill coursing will be gone. Meaning he will move around again, but the thing is, he wont attack monsters until the duration of the hounding is gone. :)) oh, Btw, I’m already 95 :))

It seem many people have their image of class with companion with other MMORPG(I saw 2-3 topic about hunter-falconer in this forum/reddit/FB group past this week), but this path not work well in ToS

This may help you about more information about what’s problem with these 2 class

IMO falconer doesn’t have something synergist with Hunter.

Oh wow intriguing I think I might try that later for fun XD

Btws, iirc if you are a hunter->falconer, you will have both ground and air pet active in the field.

I’m a hunter and I’m very frustrated about how the IMC is ignoring this class.

my current build was A2>R3>H2 and leaving it there, it’s a waste… I’m just looking forward to future rank cap lift… and going to use this wasted character to try those new ranks that is not available yet.

Right now I’m planning on creating a new one. A2>QS3>H1>F1
The idea was a support mobility disabler type. if an enemy pass through pavice and came near you use heavy shot and things get messy use coursing to disable… if everything fails time to fly with your falcon. :joy:

I would continue the hunter circle and falcon once the rank cap will be lifted. it just that … for now it is not worth taking hunter C2 or C3 coz of the companion bugs and ■■■■ up AI.

yeah that’s the whole point about making this class :)) you can always create another class if your priority is leveling, pvp or something else.

Hahaha great point indeed
Cheers m8 :joy:

Well the bug really is frustrating but the same time rewarding because when you can actually deal damage on mobs (even with only 4 aoe on rush dog) and knowing that THERE is a bug, it’s a different story.

Haha yeah I’ve already read that. But still, Hunter/Falconer  Thanks though.

Lv178 A2H3F1 here.

I have summarized some of my opinions/Knowledge regarding Hunter Falconer, hope you find them helpful.

About skill mechanic:

  1. Rush Dog scales with your pet, not yourself.

  2. Hovering scales with yourself, not your pet, despite many claiming other way around. (tested it myself)

  3. Hounding stops your pet’s auto attack, and for some reason makes your pet follows you better.

  4. Currently there is no way to turn off Growling other than walking very far away from your pet.

  5. Growling does not permanently shutdown mobs, after some time (around a minute or so), the mobs reset their AIs and start walking back to where they spawned.

About skill suggestion for Hunter: (assuming they’ll eventually fix Coursing)

  1. Coursing (15)
Your most powerful skill against late game elite mobs and players, no reason not to max it. However, it is more useful leave it at lvl1 as for now, so your pet wouldn’t get stuck for 35 seconds.

  2. Snatching (15)
One of the most if not the most powerful skill against any flying mobs including bosses. Max it, then you can solo flying dungeon bosses around your level under 1 min.

  3. Praise (0)
The effect is BARELY noticeable, including the movement speed buff from attribute. Skip it.

  4. Pointing (0)
Some say it has the potential to let bosses miss a lot if you max it. However, I doubt you would risk not moving away from a devastating boss attack.

  5. Rush Dog (1)
Does decent damage below lv80, but the damage-mana ratio is very bad in higher level. Put 1 for moving the pet around.

  6. Retrieve (10)
Your handy “cast it and leave it” skill. Does more damage than Coursing in short burst.

  7. Hounding (1)
Currently your main bug fixing skill. Stops your pet’s auto attack. Put 1 to stop your pet from running around.

  8. Growling (3)
Your main reason for going pass Hunter C1. Extremely powerful control skill. Level 1 gives you a 3 second control on mobs, with a 3 second interval pulse. Put 3 points into it so your chain control wouldn’t break due to delays and lags.

About build suggestion for Hunter C3:

Basically, We have almost the same build path. However, I would probably go for Archer C3 as my rank 7. Because of two reasons. One of the reason is this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZaNjpU6_TY

As for the second reason…well…I just don’t like carrying a cannon or a gun on my back.

But seriously though, since most of our skills deal damage over time, they can be combined with Kneeling Shot to deal quite a lot of extra damage.

Last but not least, here is a footage of a Hunter Falconer in action. (Not me)

I’m seriously considering this build for fun (because I’m a masochist and I can’t stay away from builds people tell me are bad) but seriously do cannoneer at rank 7 i think. Short cd powerful aoe nuking class, lure everything to your growling companion and then nuke it down at your leisure. Good party support too maybe.

I didn’t know you couldn’t cancel growling right now though that’s a problem.

thanks for the suggestion! Ive alse been follow the video that you have posted for a while. Uh, are there more flying monsters and bosses in game?

There are quite a lot of flying bosses and mobs in the game. However, sadly, if you’re planning to que daily mercenary quests, the one most of the people are currently doing has all of the 4 bosses being ground bosses.
