Heads up: Fake Arde Daggers

Hi, I know that its obvious that these are fake, but i also know that at least 500 people will be pulled in by this sh*t so I’m bringing it to everyone’s attention.

I’ve been finding these

More and more on the Market, Please be careful when you are buying weapons, be diligent and don’t be fooled.

Yeah, I saw this as well. I would love to report the jackasses who do this. People are also using the ‘memo’ feature to type in fake enchants for headgears.

Move this thread to the “Report” section, post the Date/Time You found in the market and Server so the Staffs can track the person at their database and punish him.

I mean, sorry but stuff like this shouldn’t be bannable or reported. It’s the buyer’s responsibility to check his ■■■■ before buying. It’s your own fault for being fooled by an obviously bad trick.

Punish for your own fault and inattention? They already made that real name of item shows. At iCBT it was even funnier - most of craftet item names was like “+15 Arch Rod”, glad now that impossible

I mean, Not a Permaban, just one or more days of suspension just to learn to not try to fool other people.

I haven’t bought these items, i just noticed something that wasn’t above board and thought that I’d make sure that its known, I know that someone’s going to fall for it and wanted to raise awareness of it

TBH I’d be happy with the gms just sending them a message and saying “Hey, Stop trying to Scam people”

While i agree that the buyer needs to be aware, we can all see that what the seller is doing is obviously trying to scam people by making them believe that it’s an Arde Dagger, aka the seller has clearly malicious and exploitative intent, and should be punished accordingly.
Regardless whether a scam was successful or not, the scammer should be punished for even trying to scam other players.

At least there’s a marking on [Memo] text now. In beta you could actually write fake Awakenings on items in the memo text box, with the green arrows and everything (you can still put green arrows and other symbols and images in memos, but it still has the [Memo] text.)

I laugh at the posts saying this should be bannable. Sure, it’s a ■■■■ move, but you are responsible for what you buy on the market. I recall the market NPCs saying that exact thing too… Pay attention to what you buy and you won’t be tricked.

Nice find

Sorry for being insensitive but if you got scammed by this, you deserve it lol

Playing in orsha the whole market has TWO arde daggers in the market atm. 1.8million and 2.5million.

:imp:

Ah, yes. Blame the victim. That’s always a good line of thinking. There’s definitely no flaw in that.

You sound caught.

No, it should be. This is a scam. 100% intentional scam, you cant get around that.

Scamming is a bannable offense tho, so I guess the jokes on you?

A nice change that might help to discourage this behavior is if ToS’ Market House listed the Team Names of the players selling the items.

There may be still some ballsy people who would go for this scam anyway but I’m sure that a lot of them are just hiding behind the fact that the market is anonymous atm so you can’t track down who sold what.

So essentially what you’re saying people are allowed to do whatever they want, reagardless whether it harms others, and only the person who are getting harmed are to blame. Don’t blame the person who’s intentionally trying to harm others, blame the victims, eh?

Of course both, the seller and the buyer, have the responsibility to check what is being sold, however if the seller clearly tries to decieve and scam the seller then obviously the seller is to blame for trying to do harm. And since trying to harm other people is against the rules then clearly these kinds of people should get reported and banned.

Or do you actually enjoy a game where people are allowed to decieve, harm and scam eachother?

just have to look closely at what you buy. arde dagger remember has fire weakness on it which since you can only put 1 memo is a good way to see which is real and which is fake if at quick glance
